Twice now I've tried to go the magic talent mark route (limited to non-existent [that I can find or listed in the wiki] artisan materials "mining" made my first char route a no-go for me) and twice I grow up with no graduation or anything......
Am I doing something wrong, is this a known issue, do I need to read up on how to do it and file a report, or what?

I've been noticing that too....
Nopony else fights, 3/4 of the time you're doing good if you can fight (never have been able to target anything). But it is a fan project and you can fake your way through it is its all good.

Couple years ago now, I was doing my usual look for something mindless to watch on TV while I wait for my brain to come online before work. It had been for a while "Worlds Dumbest" but I think I watched every one ever made twice..... looking for something new and being a long time animation fan I figured what the heck.
Though I consider myself more borny light..... A Twilight PEZ dispenser is the only merch I have (my fave by the way
) and cons aren't worth a trip of a thousand miles, nor can I recite from memory every line of every episode.
