'Ello and welcome to Legends of Equestria, Lavender! Glad to have you on board.

Most of us are fans of the show here, so you'll probably feel right at home. You can even join us in the Friendship is Magic Discussion Board to talk about it, or if you just want to have a little chat about your favorite equine, the Pony Off-Topic Board is a great way to start! You can even try your hand hoof at forum role-playing in the Role-playing Board. It won't be much different from Skype role-plays, I'm sure.

Anyway, hope you stick around, and we hope to see you in-game!

'Ello, and welcome to Legends of Equestria, Grey!

Great to hear that you've decided to start off your forum life here with us. Be warned-- Once you start, you may never stop! Though, I'm sure you'll feel right at home in LoE, seeing as the most of us are fans of the show, too. Haha. What's your favorite episode? Though, I see you've got an interesting taste in ponies. It's always great to have another fan of Lyra here. Gotta love that mint green pony.

Anyway, nice to have you on board! We're all really excited for the upcoming stress test, but we hope you'll stick around after that, too!

'Ello, and welcome to Legends of Equestria, skivvies!

I think it's safe to say most of us are fans of the Friendship is Magic cartoon over here, so you'll fit right in. What's your favorite episode of the show? I bet your favorite pony is Fluttershy, eh? She's all right, I guess. She's a pretty cute character, haha.

Anyway, hope to see you around the forums, and in-game, too. Have a nice time in LoE, skivvies!

'Ello, and welcome to Legends of Equestria, Cobalt! Great to have you here. Hope you've read the rules and what-not!

Don't worry about pretending to be someone you're not. A lot of us in LoE do the same, and a lot of us are usually in the Role-Playing Board. Have a look sometime if you want to pretend with the others! If you want, you could even introduce us all to your ponysona in the OC Board! Is she the neat sword-wielding Pegasus in your display picture?

Anyway, don't worry if you end up lurking more than you post. I'm sure you'll find that many of us are doing the same, haha. Myself included. But if you find something that piques your interest, feel free to post! We won't bite.

Hope you'll stick around after the stress test, Cobalt! Enjoy your stay here in LoE!

Welcome to Legends of Equestria, Ryhaal! It's great to have you here. Feel free to jump into the fight anytime!

We're all really excited for the stress test, too. You can just feel the excitement in the air, haha. What about the game caught your interest? Most of us here are excited to play as our own ponies in the game. What about you? :>

We have people from all around the world here, so you'll probably fit right in! Don't worry too much about making mistakes with your English-- We all learn from our mistakes, after all!

If you're into art, I'd suggest you have a look at the Arts Board. It'd be lovely to see some of your work there. Did you draw your display picture, too?

Anyway, have a nice time here at LoE! We hope to see you around, both on the forums and in-game!

Hello and welcome to Legends of Equestria, Poetic Tale~!

You've been hanging around for three whole years, now? Now, that's some dedication! Time really goes by quick when you're surrounded by ponies, huh? So, what's your favorite part of the fandom? Me, it's got to be all the artwork and stories. Gotta love that creativity.

And hey-- if you like writing and reading, you should drop by the Writing Board. We've got plenty of stories there, and we'd love to see your work there sometime, too!

Anyway, have a nice time while you're here!

It worked for them once, so there's no need to take a risk and change the formula.

That doesn't always mean it'll work again, though. Regardless, it seems like Hasbro wants to keep milking this spin-off, haha.

Personally, I'm indifferent to this whole thing. I've seen the first one, and it was really nothing to write home about, so I don't really care for this. Though, I'm sure there's people out there who'd still watch it, but... eh. Good for them...! I guess?

'Ello there, and welcome to LoE, Eevee! It's wonderful to have you on board.

You say you like Pokemon? I'm sure you'll find that many of us share the same liking, too-- myself, included! I bet Eevee's one of your favorites, eh? Personally, I like Furret, myself. Though, if you're into gaming in general, I'm sure you'll find yourself right at home in the Video Games board!

It'll be pretty interesting to see you about in the Arts section, too. I'm just going to assume you drew your forum avatar and say it looks wonderful! I'm sure we'll love seeing more of your art, haha.

Though, if I have to disagree with you-- it'd be about life being about short sentences. That's just silly! Life's about more than that. Regardless, enjoy your stay here!

I have to download a new client, but do I also have to make a new account or can I use this one to log into the game?
Also, when will the client provided for download?

I'm fairly certain our forum accounts are the same ones we use in-game. As for the latter question, the clients tend to be available to download rather close to the event itself.

Though, I do wonder what's new in this build, haha.

That was absolutely adorable! I didn't even notice that it was him in that scene, until now.

If you want your posts to be more fancy whilst your character is saying a lot, you can use these words instead of "said":

Generally don't do this, unless in moderate amounts. The word 'said' is something that's just there to indicate speech. It's not supposed to stand out, unless it adds to the situation at hand. Sure, you can use words like 'yelled', or 'whispered', but again-- moderation is key. You don't want to distract from the rest of the post with these replacements. It'll only make them give less of an impact for when they do fit in the scene. Instead, make your characters stand out with what they do.

Basically, don't use words other than 'said' often, unless the situation really calls for it. You might want to use a word like 'yelled' when talking to someone across a cliff, for example, else it'd look silly, but otherwise, 'said' works most, if not all the time.

Oh-- Since we're on the topic of speaking, you might want to have your characters actually do something while they're talking, whether it be scratching their leg, or looking about. Have them interact with the environment around them. They're not just statues in an empty white room, after all. It's these little things that help make your posts stand out amongst the rest.

And yes, they took away the 3D to make it cheaper.

Ha! Just what the 3DS needs -- no 3D!

Silly Nintendo.

So excited for this, haha. It's a shame it's been confirmed to be a TV special, and not a whole series, though.
I wish they would make an anime adaptation of the Pokemon Adventures manga instead.

So how's life guys?

Absolutely wonderful. Love it~

Oh, I mean-- Um, horrible, assignments and stuff. Been playing lots of Borderlands lately, though, so it's all good~

Ooh... A bunch of new ponies! Welcome, welcome to our little nest~

Just thought I'd pop in again after a... rather lengthy time of lurking. How is life treating everyone? Good, I hope!
Something's up with that poll, I swear... 79 voters, huh...

Spoiler: show

There were a few lines I simply could not understand this evening, and I need your help to know what they said!

- What did the super sweet (AND TOTALLY NOT OLD) Granny Smith say near the end before she winked at us while breaking that silly fourth wall everypony keeps talking about?!

- What did Applejack say in the beginning right after "You may be a tad old but..."?

Spoiler: show

"Yeah, just a couple." and "You may be a tad old, granny, but you're as feisty and full of spark as ever!" respectively.

The song was joyous, yes, but there is a lack of Fiddlesticks in this thread. I hope I'm not the only one who likes this pony.

Umm, pardon me, but I have to say that these posts are getting quite large.

Oh, yes. My apologies, Travius. I suppose I got a little carried away there. It won't happen again!

Yeah, I always wished I were better at that game + didn't have to worry about food/ammo, because it seems like it could be really entertaining just sneaking around the enemy camps seeing how many bizarre things you could find.

When I first played it years ago, it was on Very Easy mode, haha. That EZ Gun was great to have. It allowed me to get through the entire game without actually killing anyone, save for the bosses. Food and ammo aren't really that hard to find later in the game, though. And it is fun just sneaking around, because there are just so many hidden areas in the game! Though, I enjoy messing around with the guards more.

Yeah... I usually avoid buying the same game twice

Indeed. I only buy a game a second time, on another console if the new additions to it are worth the money and time. If it's just a port, however, I usually skip it. (...Being able to watch the cutscenes in HD was actually the reason I bought the HD collection, haha.)

Say, if you're such a fan, there's a good chance you've seen this already, but just in case: you should check out Hiimdaisy's comics about the first three games.

Oh, I've seen Hiimdaisy's comics. They're really amusing! In fact, I even linked to a snippet of her MGS3 comic in a previous post.

(It was the most realistic, too!).

It's a shame she isn't planning on doing Metal Gear Solid 4, though.

Quote from: lurk852 on 2012 Nov 21, 02:14:46
I zipped the third one here

Well, I didn't feel like downloading them separately, so thank you for that, lurk. I can always get a good laugh out of her comics, haha.

Wii version, yeah. The multiplayer sounds... interesting  :P

It is, actually. I just love pushing the other players into pits or enemies, or messing up their jumps, haha. Oh boy, you shouldn't ever play these games with me unless you enjoy frustration. (I'm only kidding!)

Quote from: lurk852 on 2012 Nov 21, 02:14:46
I'm also curious about the 3DS version. I'm thinking of picking up that system within the next few months, but I know the 3DS version got worse reviews than the other three. (Huh. Looking at reviews right now, I only just realized there was a DS version.)

Well, from what I've heard, the 3DS version is just a lazy remake, only with a few new things added to it, like that silly coin rush mode. I haven't played it for myself, so I can't really say much on the matter.

The DS version, though, was probably the best out of the New Super Mario Bros. games, in my opinion. I still play it from time to time. It's really great. Everything was just so fresh and new with that game.

It's one of my favorites in both gameplay and plot (and ludicrous Kojima weirdness).

Indeed. One of the best PS2 games, in terms of both gameplay and plot, in my opinion (It was the most realistic, too!). You can never go wrong with Kojima's strange mind!

I also love the little secrets in the game, like how you're able to defeat The End either before his battle (no damage, except wheelchair to the face!), or by changing the PS2's clock during the battle, or how the length of The Sorrow's river is dependent on the number of enemies you killed. Also, Raikov looks nothing like Raiden, by the way. Nope, not one bit. Oh, let's not forget the time paradoxes. It's these things that make me appreciate a game even more.

I may almost be tempted to buy the 3D version when I get a 3DS  :/

Oh, the 3DS version would be, without a doubt, the first game I would purchase when I get a 3DS. I even have the HD collection for the PS3. I bet you can tell I'm a big fan of the series, haha.

our tastes in video games are eerily similar. I hear Galaxy 2 is fantastic too. , though, so... lots of games to get through eventually.

They are, aren't they? Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a great game. Though, it didn't quite capture the excitement I got when I played the first one. It just felt lacking, to me. Though, the frustrations from the previous game certainly carried over to this one. I do like the new level select screen, though. Very reminiscent of the old Super Mario Bros. games.

I'll probably be picking up Skyward Sword and NSMB soon

I got the limited edition of Skyward Sword, that came bundled with that gold-colored Wii Remote Plus. Though, I haven't had much time to play it, yet. But from what I've seen, it is definitely a good game.

Oh, which New Super Mario Bros. are you getting? The Wii version? That game is really fun to play cooperatively, if you can get everyone to work together, that is. Messing with the other players is still a load of fun, though. (I do it all the time!)

Someone's gotta do the bucking, after all.

Haha, indeed. I think I'll stick with being a Unicorn, though. Magic's a great thing to have, after all.

But a big favorite of mine is metal gear solid, for some reason.
Could it be the hiding box that makes it magical?  :/  >:/

It is most definitely the cardboard box, yes. And the fact that it's actually just a movie, disguised as a video game!
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater has got to be my favorite, though. That game has such great storytelling! And also, the ladder boss.

And I've been playing the crap out of heavily modded Skyrim. Good stuff, mostly. That and replaying Twilight Princess.

Oh, Skyrim. I actually have that game from when it was first released. I...still haven't gotten to playing it yet, haha.

Twilight Princess is another great game, though. One of my favorites, right next to Super Mario Galaxy. I just love the music in that game! (The levels where you had to clean up trash were an absolute pain to go through, though...)

(Unrelatedly, looking at that poll... races are remarkably evenly distributed in this guild.)

Indeed. If only there were more Earth ponies.
