Topics - Blue Shield

A herd for all the dedicated medics of the community. Only requirement is that you must have a unicorn and interest in using healing spells to aid others in combat.

Though it isn't without rules... Being a secondary herd; you are free to be a part of a primary herd, and the needs of the primary herd come first.

I will NOT allow any "Clan rivalries" In the Medical corps. If you've got any, please keep them outside the Corps. I'd rather not have any division amongst everyone, and I don't want to get involved in that business.

I will add more information as it may be needed. If anyone has any questions; Let me know.

In all honesty, I don't believe I need a form, really just the character's name... But if things start getting chaotic, that will change.

Canterlot Archives / RP thoughs?

I was thinking some rp that would use the die roller mod in a d20 system. However, I don't know exactly what to base the ideas about. All I have atm is obviously make it mlp and so on... Does anyone have suggestions?

If you don't know how to use the die roller mod, I believe it's pretty simple. Using xdxx (x=the numerical values. For example, 1d20 would be one 20 sided dice. I type the roll command to make it generate a number between 1 and 20.

[blockquote]Rolled 1d20 : 7, total 7[/blockquote]

Depending on my number, my outcome would be good or bad depending on the number required and what I actually rolled, then adding any saves required. Exceptions to the rule are 1 and 20. 20 being the best, and no fail, 1 being the worst, and known as a critical fail. (In Dungeons and Dragons, often results in the player's character injuring themselves depending on the situation.) If you play Dungeons and Dragons, this part on would be very self explanatory.

    Available after the OSW!

Due to my job, I will not have enough time to put everything at one time on, so if there's any changes you would like to see made, or any additions you'd like to make in the meantime, please let me know.

Well, I've been giving it some thought, and I've concluded that I want to try a hoof at making a crossover of MLP and Final Fantasy... Problem is, I don't know what all to do about the backstory, and I was hoping to get some pointers.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS RP IS CURRENTLY UNDER DEVELOPMENT AND I AM CONSTANTLY MAKING CHANGES TO MAKE IT FIT INTO RP RULES! IF SOMETHING SEEMS OFF, LET ME KNOW, AND IF POSSIBLE, GIVE A SUGGESTION ON HOW TO FIX IT, AND I WILL FIX IT!

Before I continue, I will go over the different elements in the game.

    Status Conditions

Please note that coma is NOT death.

Almost all conditions other than Coma, will be curable by using the "Clear" spell. Coma requires Life magikite, ring, or pheonix down to cure.

    • Coma - effective when a player's HP reaches zero. This will render the character unable to perform any action.

    • Haste - doubles the movement, focus and spell casting times.

    • Slow - halves the movement speed of the character

    • Poison  - slowly drains the HP of a character.

    • Burn - doubles the movement speed of the character as well as slowly drain the character's HP and drastically lower their Defense stat.

    • Shock - Stuns a character for 5 turns of combat. Immediately lifts at end of battle.

    • Freeze - Stuns a character for 5 turns of combat. Immediately lifts at end of battle.

    • Knockback - interrupts your turn.

I kinda see petrification (being turned to stone) as a form of death... So that will not be in the game unless told otherwise by a moderator.
    [/list]

    Letters from Home

When given a letter from home, the players will recieve a list of responses available and may write a letter to their family regarding that issue. For example, a player recieves a letter from their mother, telling him/her that if they ever need anything, all they need to do is ask. They will recieve a list of responses, which they can write around to make a full letter, or go with the simple sentance. In this case, they would get:

    • I need more food.

    • I need more money.

    • I need more love.

    Relationships

Once the player makes their response, they will have to wait until they collect the next drop of Myrrh before getting the next letter. Your responses will effect how your family feels about you, which will be shown by emoticon faces on your character sheet in the start of the roleplay.

Your family's relationship with you will decide what you will recieve as gifts and such. You will start off as 0, or listed as  ":l" on your sheet, toward your parents and two siblings each. For example:

    Father's name:  :l
    Mother's name:  :l
    Younger Sister's name:  :l
    Older Brother's name:    :l

    -100:  D:
    -50: ono
    0: :l
    50: ^-^
    100: :D

    Favorites

There will be a list of your favorite foods, and this will change as you eat different foods.

            The different foods offered are:

    Cherry Cluster
    Rainbow Grapes
    Round Corn
    Star Carrots
    Gourd Potato

    • Cherry Clusters and Rainbow Grapes, when eaten, give a small boost to Magic when consumned. Depending on how much you like that food, it will heal you based on the percentage.

    •
    • Star Carrots and Round Corn, when eaten, give a small boost to defense when consumned. Depending on how much you like that food, it will heal you based on the percentage.

    •
    • Since meat increased strength in the game, the effect is being placed in the gourd potato. Depending on how much you like that food, it will heal you based on the percentage.

    Artifacts

After completing a dungeon, you will be offered a list of artifacts. You will be allowed to chose one from the list. This will permanantly increase your the stat it's assigned to. It may range between 1-3, and in some dungeons, you may find a ring.

NOTE:You may repeat a dungeon for another artifact, but you cannot get another drop of myrrh for two years.
Also, since FFCC offered 4 races, I don't know how I'll be able to incorporate them. Since all of them could use magic, using magikite and rings, I'll allow that, but Pegasi and Earth Ponies are limited to ONLY that kind of magic. Unicorns can't use spells such as cure, life, fire, firaga, etc. without magikite or rings.

There are four races to choose, as listed above, for creating your character. There are also eight family trades. Each has its own benifits such as money to your character, and occasionally food and other items.

    The races and their symbols:

Earth Ponies: This race often makes excellent farmers. They may have some experience with magic, however they are better at defending. Their armament uses a sword and shield, and their preffered food is the Striped Apple.

Recommendation of Use: CEarth Ponies are naturally good at anything. They have a high defense rating and are quick to the punch with their weapons. They have average charge times for both magic and focus attacks, which makes them the perfect, all-around "beginner's" character. They can be quite dynamic; be it rushing in and helping your Crystal Pony cohorts or standing back and attacking from afar using focus attacks or magic with your Pegasus/Unicorn friends. A solid race choice.

    Their symbol:

Pegasus Ponies: This race can oftentimes make great merchants. They are agile and quick, they are great for diversions. Their armament uses a racket, and when in need of defense, they rely on their agility to dodge, rather than blocking. Their favorite food is the Star carrot. (Since in the game, they preferred fish.)

Recommendation of Use: A strong choice for many reasons. Their speed and agility makes them one of the faster fighters; as a result, the focus charge time is drastically reduced, enabling them to execute a focus attack within one second. As a magic user, they are slightly below a Earth Pony's abilities, but can still hold their own. What cripples them is the low defense they have; which can lead to them running from a battle to heal themselves. These characters are the other dynamic to the Earth Ponies. They can do well up close or from afar. Its best if Crystal Ponies and Pegasi work in tandem attacking the enemy; with the Pegasus providing solid back-up with potent focus attacks and only using magic when up against an enemy vulnerable to it.

    Their symbol:

Unicorns: Rather mysterious and unknown. Most are so caught up in their work they may forget their own name from time to time. They make excellent alchemists with their extended knowledge of logic, and curiosity of the unknown. Their armament often comes with a hammer and magic, and will cast a translucence spell to make their bodies have the consistancy of air, causing attacks to pass through them. Their favorite food are rainbow grapes, and they enjoy a tankard of a bitter, strange liquid.

Recommendation of Use: A specialized character for a specialized player. You won't be pressing the attack when using a unicorn. Their defense is pitifully low and focus attack charge time is twice as long as Earth Ponies; so this limits them almost completely to spell casting which they excel at. Their spells have longer range, shorter casting time, and do more damage thanks to their heightened magic attribute. Other races can do magic too, its just that Unicorns are simply better at it. Its well advised not to send a Unicorn into battle but rather have them carry the chalice and remain on the outskirts of battle casting attack spells and curing fellow caravanners in need.

    Their Symbol:

Crystal Ponies: They are extremely protective over their friends and will stop at nothing to complete their task. Their merchants are also some of the best around. Their armament often consists of Lances or Halberds, and enjoy eating Gourd Potatoes.

Recommendation of Use: They excel at melee combat and are agile enough to avoid many attacks during an attack combo. Their defense rating is high which lets them take the abuse they will no doubt be receiving from the enemies they swarm. Their focus charge is about the same as Earth Ponies, but their spell casting is twice as long as Earth Ponies; so best to keep them on weapon combat only. They are fairly one-sided and reserved for those who may not always like teamwork. As a group, its best to let a Crystal Pony or two charge in with spears blazing while the rest provide back-up and support for the shiny fella.

    Their Symbol:

The eight trades are as follows:

Merchant: This family will allow the player to trade items for money. They also produce higher amounts of money than other families. (Weapons, armor and accessories are not tradeable.)

Tailor: This family will be able to produce accessories when given designs and ingredients.

Alchemist: This family will be able to produce designs when given ingredients. Rarer ingredients will result in better equipment designs. This family will also allow the players to play with magikite.

Rancher: Produces Milk to give to the caravan. Milk will restore 2 HP and offer a small boost to Strength and Defense.

Farmer: Produces higher amounts of fruits and vegitables when given seeds than other families. This can be extremely useful when needing a few extra bits or some extra healing.

Fisher: This family produces fish to sell to animal caretakers. They have a higher production of money than the other families (except merchant)

Miller: This family will be able to produce loaves of Bannock, and bags of flower when sent wheat, or flour.

Blacksmith: This family will be able to produce armor and weapons out of designs and ingredients.

More WILL be worked on as soon as I get off work and am able to continue editing the RP!!!

Some ponies may take for granted the friendship and happiness that Equestria shares today. But what they don't know, is that long ago, there once was a time where there wasn't much. With Chaos, under the rule of Discord, the god of Chaos, there wasn't time for things like friends, happiness, or love. Most ponies hid in fear, or turned to darker means of making their way in the world... This is a tale of the unsung heros who made the stand to bring peace to the land, and end the terrifying rule of their leader...

Blue Shield, a Pegasus Knight once in Discord's military, deserted. Feeling as though the current way of life wasn't fit for ponykind. He stood on the cliffside, gazing upon a town in the distance.
"Why... Why do ponies have to live their lives like this?" He wondered, "We should be free... Happy..." He looked down at his hooves and poked at the ground a couple of times before looking back up. He took a deep breath and gazed off at the castle in Canterlot, which was just over the horizon.
"I will put an end to this suffering... Even if I have to do so alone... I SWEAR I'll bring peace to this land!" He swore.
With the vow etched on his soul, he set off. Heading to the town of Ponyville in search of others to aid him in his task.

    The Retirement Home / Translators?
    2014 Apr 27, 07:46:00
So... Twice or three times in one night, I noticed Russians who came onto the site who didn't speak English, and both times, I had to translate for them... Is there by any chance we can have a thread where new people who don't speak english can ask others to translate for them? Because PERSONALLY, I like the idea of having a site that can be used world-wide, but I was told that it's against a rule that you can't speak any other language than english... Is that true?

This RP takes place 1000 years BEFORE the times of princess Celestia, Luna, and so on. Starting classes MUST be basic classes from Fire Emblem: Awakening. To put things in a nutshell, the group is the first to attempt to overthrow discord, whether or not they succeed is all up to the players and their skills.

    RULES AND RESTRICTIONS:
Since the My Little Pony universe doesn't apply to the classes of Fire Emblem, I'll have to post some to make it fair for all other classes and species.

-Magic based classes such as cleric, troubadour, valkyrie, and so on can ONLY be unicorn.
            -Classes in this list include:
                   Manakete
                   Taguel
                   Valkyrie (female only)
                   Troubadour (Female only)
                   War Cleric/ War Monk
                   Cleric/Priest
                   Dark Knight
                   Sage
                   Mage
Sorcerer (Can use tome, dark tome)
Dark Mage (Can use tome, dark tome)
Tactitian (Can use sword and tome, can suggest tactics to other units, but CANNOT take control of other units)
-Flying based classes are restricted to pegasi and griffons ONLY Classes include:
Pegasus knight (Classes are only allowed to use lances and are weak to arrows)
Griffon Riders (Can only be griffons and can only use axes)
-Other classes are allowed to be whatever race they want to be, and even has special perks, HOWEVER, the pegasus of other classes aren't allowed to fly, and unicorns aren't allowed to use magic. Other perks include:
Pegasi are granted an agility bonus, allowing them a slightly better chance of avoiding a hit.
Unicorns are granted a resistance bonus, allowing them a slightly better chance of ignoring magic damage.
-Falcon knighs and Dark Fliers can ONLY be alicorns, being that they can fly and use magic, so to make things fair, they are not allowed.
-Other classes that are restricted are Lodestar, dread fighter, and bride, since I didn't have the DLC to the game, and don't understand how they work.

Now that we've gone over the classes and restrictions, we'll now go over stats. Since most stats are about the same, I'm going to keep it simple and combine some of them.

Attack and Strength have the same effect, both raise your base physical damage. Griffons are granted a +5 this if choosing another class other than Griffon Rider.
Hit and Avoidance can be combined into an Agility stat, since Hit is your base chance of hitting the enemy unit, and Avo is the base chance of avoiding damage. Pegasi are granted a +5 bonus to this when choosing a class other than the listed flying classes.
Critical is the base chance of a critical hit, often times, they result in a one hit KO.
Mag is the base skill adding to magical damage.
Resistance is the base chance of guarding from magical attacks. Unicorns are granted a +5 in the res stat when using a class other than those listed above.

EXP to next level is 100, max level is 20. You can only reset to level one when using a master seal or a second seal, which allows you to change classes. Master seal allows you to change in your class tree, second seal allows you to change to any class.

The list of all characters are in the link, though keep in mind of their restrictions when using this.
    http://fireemblem.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Fire_Emblem:_Awakening_Classes

All you need is a character in the OC characters thread, and a link. A picture as well if possible. After that, I'll generate your stats, and you'll be ready!

    http://forum.legendsofequestria.com/index.php?topic=11615.0

    Name: Blue Shield

    Level:1
    EXP:20

    HP: 20
    ATK: 15
    Agility: 15 (+5)
    CRIT: 13 (at a 1% Chance)
    MAG: 0
    RES: 10

Note: Pegasus Knights are agile classes and have virtually limitless navigation, but in harsh terrain, their movement is severely limited. (as opposed to being able to move approx. 20m, they could only move 3m per turn.) They are also weak to arrows.

Now, if there's anything I'm missing, feel free to ask, and I'll fill you in on it and add it to the seet! :) Thank you, and have fun!

    ***EDIT***

Team based combat WILL be allowed in the game. Since this would take place in the time of Discord's rule, relationships between units will be HIGHLY useful, and may greatly increase both character's stats depending on their relationship.

Please note that like in the game, as you spend time with team members, and battle alongside them, your relationship level will increase.

    F- 1 interaction
    E- 5 interactions
    D- 10 interactions
    C- 20 interactions
    B- 40 interactions
    A- 80 interactions
S- 100 interactions (ONLY available through opposite-gender pairings and the permission of the other player. This relationship level is marriage.)

I think this is where it goes, since it IS a suggestion... But, what if there was something on the site where people can make suggestions for the game that the members can look at, decide whether or not they like them, then have a member of the team look at it and make the final decision on if it should be in the game or not. Suggestions ranging anywhere between items, locations, or even characters and quests and so on...
    8
Yeah, so I was chatting with some people in the chat box, and suddenly, I can't post anymore... Is this a bug, or was I simply banned from doing so? Though I don't exactly understand what I did TO get banned from the chatbox...
    9
I was wondering if there were any military bronies here on LoE that I could talk to every now and again. I haven't been registered long, but so far, I seem to be the only one... I'm a former Airman in the USAF and an Afghanistan war veteran, though the story behind that is rather depressing, so I'm not gonna go into detail about it... But anyone here military? :o

    Original Characters / Blue Shield
    2014 Apr 24, 02:00:19
This is an old characer I've had in the making since I became a brony. :3 So hopefully he's good to roleplay! :D
Not entirely sure what I'm doing with this, since I couldn't find a reference sheet... So I've got no clue how you guys do these...  ono

    Name: Blue Shield
    Gender: Stallion
    Species: Pegasus
    eye color: Blue
    Mane style: Short Curtain
    Mane color: Golden
    pelt color: White
    Hoof color: Black
edit Cutie Mark: A blue shield with unfurled wings and a golden heart in the center portion

Profession: First Sergeant in the EUP Guard

Personality: Blue is the type of pony who never lets his friends down. Being strong willed and courageous, he will always be there to back somepony up in good times and bad. Often times, he is kind and compassionate towards other ponies, but he tends to push his limits a little too far which results in him being injured. Blue is extremely down to earth and can easily get along with ponies around the world, and having traveled alot in his work, he is very adventerous and tends to let his curiosity get him in some pretty messy situations.

Backstory: Blue was born and raised in Cloudsdale a majority of his life as a pony who didn't get his cutie mark until he was a full grown stallion, and to get away from all the harrassment, he moved to Canterlot, where he took notice in the EUP guard and did everything he could to enlist. Upon graduating the academy, he was finally granted his cutie mark; a blue shield flanked by two unfurled wings and a golden heart in the center part of the shield. Upon graduation, he had done his best, and showed the utmost prid in his work, which resulted in early promotions and such up to Master Sergeant. He then was offered to serve directly under the captain of the guard, either filling in their position during their absence, pointing the guards in the right direction, or slamming the book on those who misbehave.
    edit
Throughout his travels and meeting new ponies and many other citizens of the world, Blue had also learned a very basic grasp of alchemy used by zebras such as Zecora, and various languages throughout Equestria. however, Alchemy isn't a hoby for him like language, and he very seldomly uses alchemy.

Likes: Working, apple fritters, and freshly baked, warm apple pie, and protecting those who need it.

Dislikes: Fighting (Though there may be times he's called upon to do so)

Strengths: Courageous, loyal, and down to earth

Weaknesses: Traumatizing fear of Spiders, pushes his limits too far, Easily angered when ponies make fun of 'blank flanks' [edit] and having only a basic grasp of alchemy, he tends to blow himself up or makes potions that may have negative or no effect.

    Introductions Archive / Hey there!:D
    2014 Apr 24, 01:21:09
Okay, so I saw some gameplay of the LoE game, wanna try it out SO BAD!!!! So I'm gonna check out the forums frequently and keep posted on errything.  :P Anywho, I feel like sharing how I became a brony, but that'll be given upon request. Even though I read the rules, I'm not 100% for certain if it's against them or not... Lol, so I'll have to wait for a moderator to verify that... At any rate... I love roleplay, and obviously, I love MLP.  :D
