*The creature holding the lantern is a medium sized creature thing with some sort of sword. It slashes at Mayfly, and just like that, all of her magic is gone. Mayfly looks at Blaze, who is not surrounded by her magic. Which means...*

((That lake they were crossing over is also a bottomless pit, and it'll also feel like thick smoke when you touch it))

Falling into the lake, Blaze exclaims, "The lake is an illusion?"

((Sorry if this isn't what you planned, but thick fog covering a bottomless pit that looks like water sounds like an illusion to me.))
