If you really want to be an assistant, you can be Aurora's. She technically already has an assistant (Dove Elegy), but obviously things can be rearranged for this RP. The original purpose of Aurora's assistant was to carry on with her research after she disappeared. One thing that has been bothering me about Aurora for this RP is that she can be recognized by the future ponies, but I can't really insinuate that in the RP since Aurora shouldn't know that at the time. I could simply have the assistant be that link and be able to establish that Aurora's research has significance in the future.

The biggest problem is would be the nature of this familiar being able to slip in and out of reality and how a Raven like this would come to be Aurora's assistant. It would be a tough sell to say Aurora already had an assistant, unless we were to say the Raven is simply withholding it's knowledge about the future and simply being an assistant. It would kinda defeat the purpose, but there's really no rush to spell out Aurora's significance to the future right now. Perhaps the Raven is simply making sure Aurora is walking towards her predestined future.

Judging by their reaction to her, Aurora deduced that these ponies weren't hostile towards her. At the same time, however, she couldn't quite understand why. Perhaps they simply were not like most ponies around here. Yes, she could accept that answer, but she needed to be sure.

"I'm sorry to bother you, but you seem lost. I'm fairly sure you and you... and a lot of you... are unicorns. This is unfortunately Earth Pony territory and you'll get in trouble if the ponies from the nearby village discover that you are here."

There were a few other things she wanted to bring up, but she felt it was wise to take things slowly.

((As a new thing I'm trying, I will post this cut-in of the character I'm RPing as at the begining of every post per new page. It will help establish the character's appearance and indicate that I'm not RPing as my avatar.))

Not too far away was a blue pegasus mare with pale green hair. She was taking a nap on a low flying cloud, lazily drifting around the vicinity. Her name was Aurora Sky and she was a scholar for Cloudsdale, if Cloudsdale had any scholars. At this point, however, she was just a Pegasus without a home.

Her days weren't filled with much excitement, although she prefered them that way. She definately didn't want monsters to find her or even other ponies. If she were found by a Pegaus, they'd only laugh at her, and if it were any other pony, they'd be furious since the other races didn't get along well. While hiding in her little cloud was the most logical choice, it was dreadfully underwhelming. There were other things she really wanted to do, so much missing in her life.

Then the phenomenal happened. There was a bright flash and suddenly a bunch of strange ponies appeared out of nowhere. The flash gave out a loud noise, which woke Aurora up from her doze. She was hesitant at first, but she eventually peered down at the ground from atop her little cloud to see what happened. She witnessed the small band of ponies running towards some bushes to take cover, their races she didn't take note of. What were they doing down there? They felt confused and scared, which in turn confused Aurora. Maybe something dangerous was happening and they needed help.

"H-hello?" Aurora Sky meekly called from her cloud, which was still low enough to the ground to carry her meek voice to the ponies in the bushes. Hopefully they weren't going to yell at her.

Valice casually rolled her eyes as Eleanor invited her on some sort of expedition, although that didn't bother her as much as that overly optomistic smile Eleanor wore. What did have to be so happy about? Regardless, it seemed that there were several other ponies occupying the vicinity now, so she decided that it was time for her to start moving.

It just so happened that she felt like moving in the same direction as the others. In fact, she remembered it was her duty to keep an eye on suspicious ponies here, so it was definitely in the interest of her school for her to monitor them... to make sure they don't get into trouble, obviously.
25
Lucidity let out a sigh and closed her eyes briefly before rising from her spot and approaching Eleanor Smiles slowly. When she reached Eleanor, she opened her eyes to reveal a slightly menacing stare.

"I'm Lucidity, a top ranking student from Princess Luna's School for gifted Unicorns and I assure you I used a more convenient method to get here from Canterlot. I'm here on assignment to investigate this... strange place on behalf of the school. I'm also supposed to keep an eye out for suspicious individuals, which may include ponies who conceal their motives for coming to a place like this as though they were on vacation."

Lucidity's ears shook subtley when the other pony entered the room, but she didn't move otherwise. She only continued staring out the window. However, when she heard the pony shuffling through those pamphlets, she just barely turned her head and glanced sideways.

"Those pamphlets are blank. I've already checked them." she said sternly. "This place isn't exactly a tourist attraction, so what are you doing here?"

We should also treat this sign-up thread as the OOC thread as well, unless an OOC thread is created. There is a little bit too much OOC happening in the RP itself.
28
Erm... Then it's up to you to make sure the RP gets moving, because everypony is waiting for somepony else to interact with them. I attempted to establish my character's presence, but have yet to be interacted with yet and I haven't seen an appropriate oppertunity to interact with another character. I think you need to... rattle the cage a bit, if you will.
29
How many characters are you planning to accept before we get this show on the road, if you don't mind me asking? Remember that too many characters could possibly bloat the story and hamper the significance of the individual.

((This image will be appearing at the start of all my posts so you don't confuse the character I'm playing as to be my avatar. It also reminds me how angry this character is!))

Nearby the train station was a lobby where passengers coming off the train could rest and gather travel information. Strangely enough, though, this lobby area was very empty. There was only one mare there, sitting down while stoically looking outside a window towards the town of North Tailorina. She had a pale orange skin tone and a grey mane that seemed to change to a lighter shade the farther down the hair it went. She didn't seem very enthusiastic about what she saw although it appeared as though she had been staring at the city for some time.

In fact, how long was she here for? What was her business here in the first place?

I'll see what I can do to help out with this RP for now, since it seemed really interesting at the beginning. I also wanted to use one of my more confrontational OCs to push others past their comfort zones.

Her name is Lucidity and she is one of the top ranking students at Princess Luna's School for Gifted Unicorns. Her cutie mark is a white star and her special talent is having lucid dreams. She also seems to be angry...

That's all you really need to know about her before meeting her in an RP.

You have a very good quality OC right here, I'm impressed! You did well to have Mirustal assist you, although I still get the feeling that you simply have good OC making talent.

Your OC is nearly flawless character-wise. There are only a few technical things I feel inclined to point out.

The first is his hometown not being in Equestria, despite it still being inhabited by ponies. I can't pursue this, since I don't know exactly what lives outside Equestria and there is definitely the possibility ponies live outside Equestria. However, that brings me to why Slate Grey needs to live in a village on another continent, especially since it appears that he does visit Equestria to find out where the Sun and Moon are raised/lowered. I'm sure it's within reason to sell the idea that there is a village near a fungal forest in Equestria since Equestria is still vastly unexplored (by us, at least).

Second is his school. I get Math, Reading, and even Magic for Unicorns, but I'm having trouble swallowing the concept that Alchemy is taught in schools. Schools tend to extend until the end of Elementary, in which the pony find their talent and expounds upon that; and I certainly don't see elementary schools teaching Alchemy. It might be that schools outside of Equestria are different, but I honestly think you are still stretching this. It would be far more believable if you just said he learned Alchemy from his parents, since they both happened to be potion makers.

Lastly is actually the way you indent during the story segment. It's not a problem, persay. I was simply intrigued by this style where you use like... semi-paragraphs or something. It doesn't distract the reader from the material, but it still somehow fundamentally itches me. I just wanted to hear your opinion on this style and how you came to the decision to use it.

And you also have a few typos, mostly with using commas.

If I did re-join the RP, I would be playing a far more dominant character. Gracie Sky is fun and all, but she is forced to take a back seat when it comes to making important decisions. Her role is to follow everypony around and be comic relief and to offer a child's viewpoint, which is clouded at best in this setting.
34
You're free to restart the RP, but you're probably going to get a different set of RPers for it. As for at least myself, I am already aware of what is going to happen. Without the allure of the unknown, I'm basically reading from a script. Granted, it's very unlikely the events will play out exactly as it did the first time, but the similarities will be greater the more characters from the original take part. Due to that, to get the most bang for your buck, none of the original characters (probably save the Peace brothers), should participate. That said, the only way I'd join was if I wasn't going to use Gracie Sky as my character.

But the fundamental problem with all of this would be the fact that if you were going to completely change everything to begin with, you would be better off just doing something fresh. Unless, of course, there is a good reason you want to restart this particular RP that has nothing to do with nostalgia.
35
:P We should be thankful that it managed to reach a conclusion in the first place, especially seeing that only about half the original cast is still accounted for.
36
Yeah, I'm not exactly sure this RP needs a sequel. If it did, it would have to take place immediately after the end of the current one, or you risk Gracie Sky returning to the orphanage. But doing it so soon feels kind of rushed and it brings up other complications too, such as whether or not there will be brand new RPers or only the ones that took part in the original. My vote would be to just go our seperate ways and possibly join in other RPs together. There are a few RPers here I would gladly follow into another RP.

I've also been contemplating hosting my own RP, although I'm skeptical about it, since I tend to try and go over the top in most of my endeavors. I fear I would alienate possible RPers with excessive complexity and rules. Perhaps my skills are better utilized assisting others with the quality of their RPs.
37
Gracie didn't understand what "peckish" meant, but it sounded very bird-like!

"So what now? Do I get to keep you now, since Nocturna sent you in this package? I guess I have to send her a present too! Ooh! I know exactly what she'd like! Some chips and fruit punch! Maybe even a hayburger! I don't think she's ever tried them, so I definitely need to send her some to taste! Should I use this box to send it back to her?"
38
I'm a more story oriented pony, so I'd be most interested in the RP with a defined antagonist and a premise not exclusively revolving around teenage drama.

Still, though, the RPers are what make the RP great. If the RPers are dedicated and skilled, I can forsee a great RP.
39
I'd rather you just RP as the raven until a good excuse to meet Nocturna surfaces. I'm sure there is a good workaround or another version of Nocturna that could be encountered.

However, my main concern would be the possible premise of this sequel you're contemplating on. Previously, the premise was ponies going back into time where segregation and prejudice still existed. The teleportation was completely accidental. This leaves only two possible paths that would be worth pursuing, although both seem highly unlikely unless I really stretch things.

1) The group goes back deliberately. Peacekeeper already made it clear that he didn't wish to mess with the timeline, so going back on purpose seems counter-intuitive. That also brings up the question about why a book containing a spell for time travel existed in a public area. I mean... if we did go back, I'm assuming we'd use that same book, which got me thinking about why it was there in the first place. Clearly the next step Peacekeeper should take is turning that book into the authorities before somepony else accidentally goes back in time. The only plausable explanation would be that the book was deliberately put there to be used by Peacekeeper by somepony who knew he would accidentally read it. The reason to go back would be based on who this pony was.

2) The past group comes to the present. They apparently have the means to time travel even back in the past, and it apparently works. I'd like to say no, though, since it brings up the possibility that several ponies could have time-traveled to any point in time, since the spell exists. It could be stated that the details of the spell were hidden to prevent its abuse, but by whom? The developer of the spell, Nocturna, doesn't exist any longer, leaving the two choices to be the spell was buried or was kept hidden by somepony else. Regardless, it wouldn't make sense for the past group to use the spell... unless they brought it into the present to prevent anypony between then and now from using it. In that case, though, they would probably be stranded in the current time.

After seeing the bird, Gracie Sky jumps up and down excitedly. "It's a bird! It's a talking bird! This is the first talking bird I've ever seen! I wonder how it managed to live in that box without any bird seeds or water in it. I bet you're hungry, aren'y you, little birdy? Too bad it looks like it's in the middle of the night right now, and I'm guessing the bird store is closed by now."

Gracie also noticed that Peacekeeper was reading a tag attached to the box. That must've had the bird's name written on it! Without delay, Gracie went next to Peacekeeper in order to read the name! She gave the nametag a good long look, wishing she knew how to read better.
