My computer crashes with a BSOD all the time, but if it keeps doing it then I'd get rid of the thing buggin' ya!

Here's a hypothetical situation: my motherboard is defective, leading to (as you would say) it 'harming' the PC. I get rid of it. I restart my PC.
Now, my PC crashes, because there is no motherboard. The thing harming the PC is the lack of motherboard. The lack of motherboard = nothing. Now how do I get rid of nothing?

You should at least check your RAM. There may be something out there to check the status of your hard-drive but I never got wind of that when I was getting more severe BSOD on my laptop.
