What do you plan to do with your year off? Go to Sweden?
May you walk on warm sands.

Julius

No... Though travel is involved.

My plans are to go to Aruba, the U.S. and possibly Europe. There's many reasons for me to take a year off. You see, the main one is that I don't know what to study in college yet. It's all pointing towards music, but I'm not too sure about that, even if I love it so much.

I want to find out what I want to do. I'm also going to be moving to the States next year, so I want to... Get used to the place, to the people. There's only so much you can learn on a computer, even if you interact with others, it's not the same. I want to see for myself how it's like before I move there.

I want to change some bad habits before moving away from Venezuela too (Now now, don't go thinking bad things about me. I mean stuff like not being so lazy and exercising more, you silly ponies :l ). Perhaps mastering my english would be a reason... Though I'm so good at it already. Really, my accent is almost completely gone, my grammar is great (If I do say so myself), I THINK in english...

Anyways, those are the main reasons. I really need to find out what to do. There's no way in hay I'm studying something that won't make me happy, so I need to make sure... I guess in a way, you could say I haven't found my Cutie Mark yet. Silly isn't it?

Any subjects in particular you like more than others?  If you like studying languages you can try translation.

As a matter of fact, I HAVE translated before. Recently even, when a cousin from North Carolina visited. Since she doesn't speak Spanish... It's hilarious at times, but man, all that talking makes my head hurt, not to mention my mouth.  X3

Languages... I'd like to learn French and Italian, but that's about it for me. Even if learning other languages is easy for me i just don't like that.

And subjects I like? Well that's kinda tough for me. For example, I love videogames. I know my way around a computer, and if there's something I don't know, I can find out in no time. You could say i'm "Tech savvy". Then, would I not like to study programming or something related to computers? The answer is: NOPE. It bores me to death. I enjoy the end product, not what comes before that.

Oh! Here's something that deeply interests me: Mythology, Magic, Fantasy. To be honest with ya, I believe in it. I believe in magic, no matter what others may say. Hay, I even believe that somehow, Equestria is real for Muffin's sake.  :l

But if I was to study Mythology, where could I apply that knowledge? How would I make money with it? I hate the idea of being a teacher, and I can't think of any other way to use that knowledge.  :/

Ahh... Music, I Love it so so much. Feels great to create it, listen to it. It's amazing. I think the one thing I love most is music, and I'm barely starting to venture into it's creation. How awesome would it be to finish playing an epic videogame like, Final Fantasy or Mass Effect, and seeing your name on those credits, saying that you were part of the team who made the music for it. The music that made you feel Happy, Sad, Scared, Confident, Overwhelmed, Nervous, Amazed... The music that made that game such an amazing experience.

Sadly... Music's not a field where everyone wins. I want to study something that will make me happy, but I got to make sure that it will provide me with money too. Sadly, this is not a fantasy world, as much as I'd want it to be. Sadly, I don't have wings to lazily glide around through the sky with some pegasi, Sadly, I can't go around defeating monsters and saving the world with magic. I wish I could fly... I wish I could cast magic... I wish I could go to Equestria too... But...

This world isn't like that, it's all about the money here, so you got to think about that too.

So... I don't know. That's why I'm taking the time off to figure it out. I really have to think it through.  :c

good luck then.  I'm glad you're willing to think it out rather than rush into one thing or another immediately x3

You know Julius, writing could be your niche. It took a long time to find mine as well, but it's that creativity, that open mind, that makes great writers (do I hear Tolkien or C.S. Lewis around here?). Another interesting thing, Tolkien was just as sane as I am (which isn't reassuring now that I think about it...  lol), yet he literally believed in magic, and worlds beyond this one. I don't care how corny that sounds either. Magic is proven to be a real thing, and the scientists that can't explain it merely call the believer's in it crackpots and nutjobs:l

Just explore your possibilities, and see what the world has to offer. You may be surprised where you end up; I certainly wasn't, and I'm not even halfway through yet.  :)
