Ball bearings!  ...Wait, does "simple" mean easy to make?  Ball bearings are simple in concept but I bet they're a HUGE pain to make... x3

Wavelength, Candycane, and Confetty!

About the same time as Changeling Empire Life was removed.  Mainly 'cause he was testing the rules a bit too much there. x3
24
Remember, everypony, OOC goes here. x3  Magus will be able to rejoin you on the 30th of January.  He's been banned, remember?
25
Wavelength quit taking precise measurements of each individual claw and packed up his notes, returned the tape measure to professor Shard.

Ramisha the Generous!

Wearer of Maple-Leaf Hats? x3

"Thank you," Wavelength sighed with relief as he got to work measuring the now less-active tail.
29
Wavelength had been silently moving around the dragon with a tape measure for quite a while now, but after lingering on the dragon's tail for the past several minutes, he finally spoke.  "Er... would you mind if I were to hold your tail down?"  He ducked to narrowly avoid being slapped by the thick rudder-like fur at the tail's tip.  "It seems to have a mind of its own, and I'm having a high degree of difficulty measuring its precise size..."

I like pulleys and tripods.

Wavelength shook his head, definitely not wanting the teacher to think he was incapable of using a tape measure.  "The object wouldn't actually be interacting with Ky, but I'll go ahead and use the tape measure.  My entire point was to make him more comfortable by a lack of physical contact, but I suppose he's getting plenty enough of that already," he chuckled as Cloudy measured the dragon's teeth.  He set to work following suit.

The unicorn gave Coffee a parting nod and headed off into the paved underground streets of Duche Fancy on his way toward the recently uncovered caverns, where several diamond dogs would soon be eagerly waiting for an analysis of their latest shiny find.

Mr. Brown accepted a fourth of the offered bits.  "A couple trips to the storage room is hardly worth that sum, and I'm already quite well-employed.  I'll hold you to that extra drink offer tomorrow morning, though, all right?"
35
Mr. Brown went about the task casually rather than rapidly, taking several trips to avoid any risk of spilling the goods.  He was doing this to pass the time, after all, so he might as well be sure to do it properly.  "Well, it's the only productive thing to do.  It wouldn't be right and proper to sit idly about."
36
Mr. Brown waved off the comment about service.  "Nonsense, you've been serving me beverages and news reports for the past several years, and the latter isn't even in your job description!  I'll get the supplies.  ...I presume 'few' means three coffee crates and three bags of chocolate?" he asked as he put on one of the aprons to avoid staining his coat when he retrieved the chocolate powder.
37
Wavelength started to answer, but paused.  "Er... you wouldn't be familiar with its actual name... I'll just say it's a translator of sorts, and I have the measurements recorded in another... erm... language?"  He gave the professor an awkward smile, hoping he wasn't due for a total explanation of non-magic-based technology, since he really wasn't an expert in the field.  He just knew how to operate the equipment he was assigned.
38
Wavelength paused.  "Oh, we need the measurements now?  ...Er, mind if I go get something?  I'll be but a minute," he asked Shard, giving Mage an apologetic glance for the brief interruption.

Mr. Brown raised an eyebrow at the mention of a fire drake egg.  "Well, imagine that... a young fire drake growing up in the city.  I hope it's kept under control, but a second fire drake should help this place stay warm," he chuckled.  "At any rate, I've scheduled a meeting with some diamond dogs for the appraisal of some recently acquired gemstones in about half an hour.  Is there anything that needs doing around here to pass the time?"

Wavelength took a small camera-like device out of his satchel.  He stood directly ahead of the dragon, about 3 meters away, and held it level for several seconds before moving to repeat the action from the dragon's left side.  He kept it up until he finished on the dragon's right side, then simply dropped the object back in his satchel and continued jotting down notes on the ways the dragon moved.
