Alpha is when they'll work on balancing the races, though, so no one will be overpowered.
Putting a range on the unicorns' teleport, slowing down the pegasi's fast-flying speed, etc. Pretty sure they'll work on combat after the races are balanced.So, will we be able to play in Alpha? I... don't know. But... I'm not sure I'd quiiiite want to?

@thread: I'm guessing the game will go into a public beta this Fall.
There could be more stuff in the economy. Someone on the team said something about food. There could also be potions, armor, and "weapons."

Yup yup. Next up: Canterlot. Then, Cloudsdale. Then apparently Appleoosa. I'm really hoping they'll have Manehattan. And they said in Alpha, they'll work on balancing the races. The ponies aren't done yet at all. So I guess combat will have to wait until after the races are balanced, considering you don't wanna work on combat mechanics and abilities while races are overpowered and unbalanced.
