You guys are weird, I've always thought their cutie marks were on both sides
They're supposed to be. And I find it very annoying to have it on just one side. When I make MLP stuffed animals, I put it on both sides!

Hasbro's just being kind of cheap with their toys.

I don't know where you are, don't even know your name.
They think I'm crazy, my heartbeat goes up..."

Agreed. They want to make a little more profit to their piles of gold.

Yeah. By being mean to all those ponies! Imagine how the CMC would feel if they finally got their cutie marks, and they were only on one side! ono

The Wandering Magus

back on topic, I feel that the eclectic use of technology is somewhat odd.  Thatched roofs, pony-drawn carriages, pony-drawn TRAINS, yet gas ovens, electric lighting, and hydroelectric dams.  Also, metal armor and chariots and cobblestone roads in an apparently extremely wealthy area, yet steam-powered locomotives, advanced optics, biohazard suits, and skyscrapers.

...maybe the only thing they forgot to invent were computational devices and petroleum?  Because that seems to be the only place where they lack technology... well, besides never advancing their architectural abilities in places like Ponyville.

Also, who noticed the use of the word PEOPLE in "A Canterlot Wedding"? Quote Twilight:"She sure has a way of sneaking up on people."

Teal Turken

I have noticed that. Remember Hasbro wrote a script and rewrote it several times, so I think "people" is now a term for the MLP FIM universe and I suppose applies to "person" too.

The Wandering Magus

then I suppose

Depends on whether the variety just means different tastes, or whether it means there's an extremely large wealth/social gap and we've been looking at the equivalent of Equestria's slums for the past two seasons :\  That's how the Canterlot ponies act, anyhow.

That's common for the rich to do when they see the culture of the less wealthy, we don't meet their standards so it's the slums to them.

But it's not truly electricity. Lauren Faust said that everything in the show that would normally require electricity is simply enchanted with unicorn magic.

Sorry for the bold, but I have no idea how many times I've had to say that in this thread.

Well, when you see earth ponies using it, and hydro dams with power lines, and batteries, and lighting, and hundreds of other examples of applications of electricity where unicorn magic would seem insufficient for powering all of it at the same time for all of Equestria, and factor in the fact that Lauren is no longer leading the project and many things she had planned or said is no longer the case with either Season 2 or the current Season...

Unicorn power to be precise.  ovO

I want to thank all of the artist that have drawn my OCs.
Night Shine and Moon Violet

The Wandering Magus

lol perhaps.  But I have yet to see an enchanted object besides Tank's heli-pack, the Alicorn Amulet, and Smarty Pants, all of which were pretty obviously enchanted and not "normal" objects.

Quote from: Blues-Music on 2012 Dec 06, 04:21:19She is pinkie pie. She has no abilities except for pinkie sense , and parties , and all pinkie sense does is warn her so its instinct. She can move that fast because it was an effort to break the fourth wall.

So nothing strange here.
There won't be anything strange about Pinkie Pie, whatever she does it's always explained as "she is being herself"

Rewatch The Perfect Stallion song, they invented it, they're just like 30 years behind us with technology.
Quote from: Book Smarts on 2012 Dec 06, 00:50:31The biggest question I have now is....are Celestia and Luna truly immortal?
If 1000 years mentioned few times is truth, they are, what we can't say about princess Cadence.

The Wandering Magus

Computational devices then.  Not sure about petroleum devices.

the machinery is probably not "enchanted" by unicorn magic, my theory is that the power that unicorn magic is made from is used as electricity, makes a little sense right?
