To get you ready for the Open Server Event, here are the download links for the game client. Go ahead and pick the download that corresponds to your machine's operating system and you'll be set to enter Equestria first thing tomorrow! Just know that the game won't let you log in until our game servers open up. Got that? Okay!

How to unblock a download on Chrome
If you are using Google Chrome, it may try to block the download because Google Chrome is silly. To skip the filter, hit Ctrl-J to open your downloads window and click "Recover Malicious File"
Take note that with each Open Server event, we enable new fixes and features. Therefore, we have to wipe game data on our servers with each update. Character data and items collected from previous Open Server events will NOT carry over.

32 bit link is giving a "Dangerous File Blocked" message
I probably won't be able to actually play, due to hardware limitations (i.e., this computer sucks); but maybe I'll play around with the character creator again (a luxury afforded to most everyone else as a given; I'm stuck with a Linux OS for now, so /shrug).
I just have to wait until the appropriate version shows up... and then hope it actually downloads this time. :T

You only need to download it for each OSE. So you can download it now and then use that same build the entire time.

Well that's weird i don't have any problem with the first link maybe its because my anti-virus is no-active anti-virus i have the YAC(Yet Another Cleaner) anti-virus and i use Opera and no Google chrome or firefox, maybe it's for that

Hopefully this will make up for the last OSW and actually make the game playable this time. I wasn't able to play last time because I couldn't get into the game. I never got to see the new Crystal Kingdom...
Seems as though the MEGA servers are crowded... only getting about 200kb/s when my internet connection can get up to 3mb/s

Very slow downloading on a 25mb/s download speed. Only getting 200kb/s
As i just said a few posts ago... the server's are crowded I get about 3mb/s and only getting 150kb/s right now
I'm running the Linux build and getting an error:

I went into the LoE_Data folder and observed that, not only did it not have a Mono folder, it didn't have any subdirectories at all, so that's probably the source of the problem. I deleted the archive after extracting it, so I can't confirm that I didn't just extract it wrong or something. I'm downloading the 64-bit Windows build right now in the hopes that transplanting the files will work.
EDIT: Redownloaded the Linux build after the transplant failed. There are definitely no subfolders there. So, I need a fix for this because otherwise I can't play. That would be terrible! D:
EDIT 2: Alright, the Linux download works perfectly now. :D
This may seem like a silly question, but how do you work this thing?
I downloaded the 32-bit file and all I'm getting is a folder and another file I can't really open (but it seems unimportant). Where's the actual game? Do I have to wait?

As far as being able to play... well... I guess I'll find out tomorrow.

@LPatamon Hey dude, dude to me having an issue creating a patch for the latest version you'll find that you will be unable to connect using the launcher version.
Hopefully at some point we'll have it fixed but it seems unlikely that it will be before the servers open. Was a shame too since the patch would have only been 20MB. Hopefully
@Cerebrate will be able to fix the awesome launcher. For now enjoy the full downloads!

Yeah I noticed it and it is because it downloaded a previous version. I already had the february version for this event on a different folder. I compared the LoE.exe the launcher downloaded with the one I downloaded directly from mega minutes before and the one from the launcher was an old version, most likely the one from the January 20 open server event n.n
Sorry about that. But hey! At least we know the launcher works as in that it downloads correctly and applies the patches, the only thing is what you said that you weren't able to make a patch file, but is nothing really serious. I'm sure you will be able to take care of that sooner or later ^-^

What happens if we don't download the new Client ? I tried and it took 2 hours to download. Then when it was done it said it failed and I'll have to redownload it which will take who knows how long, if it doesn't fail.
Will I still be able to play the game from the last downloaded thing ?

When it was done downloading it just said "This server could not find the file." There's no option to recover it or anything.

use a different browser... it's stated right in the download notes that using chrome may throw said error.....

its not that the host isnt safe... chrome sees it as a foreign link and blocks it automatically, the address ends in ".nz" and it doesnt like that

Mega's freaking out at me, it's not going above 97% and when it hits it it bounces back down to 90-ish. It's been doing that for a while now and I'm not sure if something's actually wrong of if it's calculating the percentage wrong... multiple times. Mirror sites would be nice, assuming there aren't already plans to add them. Can't remember if there were mirrors last time.
well this is interesting..... MEGA fails to opperate under firefox or IE.... either doesn't work and states the services are temporarily unavailable... or simply gets stuck retrying over and over again... or in IE's case, mega throws an invalid parameters causing IE to throw up a red flag, IE actually is the only one able to download it but isn't able to complete it fast enough due to mega's system causing a fault.
Under chrome it acts just like firefox (understandably) and repeatedly fails to download in the same manner.
IMO this service is clearly inferior and unreliable.
As it stands it's entirely impossible to receive the client due to the choice of server.
IS there NO ONE that has the clients able to upload them to a more reliable and trustworthy site, google's drive..... mediafire even..... there are countless others.
Why f.. megaupload?

Oh, fun. Then what browser can we use, if chrome doesn't work either? Safari? I don't think anyone here even uses Safari.
I've 5 browsers installed and all of them are failing to work with mega's system.... either
A: they actually manage to connect but then transfer at sub 20kb/s (reportedly) only to drop down to sub 5kbps and then repeatedly fails after a few precentages only to start over again or outright state the service is temporarily unavailable, retrying.
B: Flat out refuses connection reporting a problem and retrying.
C: IE is the only one able to maintain full speed, but abruptly stop every time around 48-52% with a website caused a problem and needs to reload, which viewing the debugging script for the site shows the site throwing a strange thing at it for no apparent reason which is just outright questionable, either way, 48-52% and then restarting it just ends up with the same problem again.
Attempting download on another machine has resulted in identical symptoms.. be it with windows 8.1 ... 7 ... and 10.
And just now Chrome failed at 13% again and is back to 0.

Wiping the local data under the user account to delete any chance of a saved data/settings mismatch doesn't resolve the problem.
In fact when the game start (which it does) the frame rate is reduced to basically 0fps..... with about a second or 2 lag on button clicks...
Restoring the previous non-hotfixed version resolves the problem.

I should probably add that the crash occurs the moment a sever is selected...
Still this doesn't explain why the sudden slideshow effect occurs.
I'm also having problems as soon as I patched up. Stalling on the pony creator screen. Main menu was choppy and Norton didn't like the files at first.
I'm having the exact same problem with the patch everyone else is having. The pony character load screen never loads.
I overwrote the managed folder on my linux client and now character select doesn't show up, so I deleted the game and re-unpacked the unpatched game files.
I've tried win32 client with either the 32 and the 64 patch neither worked
The win64 client with 64patch works
The patch causes the game to lag so much, I'm unable to use it.
I guess I'm going to have to go this one patchless, because I can't figure out how to even play the game with it.
Anyone here get this problem? It happen to Unicorn and Pegasus. Now every Unicorn and Pegasus on my screen have no tail, no mane and no wings but they can still fly and teleport. And I can't talk to NPC or rolate the camera neither!

It gives lag to me as well, besides de having only the background on the character selection screen.
Also I can't finish the quest that involves to get flowers, dandelions, mushrooms and gems because the dandelions aren't spawning on the areas we're supposed to look for them at Ponydale. What's up with that? o.o

I'm having the 32-bit patch problem too. I've let the devs know about it, some of them were awake when it happened but a lot of the team is asleep. People should be slowly waking up now though 0:)

Everything worked perfectly, or at least very well for to be in LoE, only the bad thing happened with my case was the speed of the LoE download; approximately 4 hours started from 11:15 PM (23:15 hours) yesterday, then for a moment I thought that Chrome would make the difficulty, I only had to "accept" the WinZip file on my laptop & presto, without has stopped the downloading, or something like that previously.
Now is just finishing the duties that I have pending today & after, play LoE all day & tomorrow :D [size=78%]. [/size][/size]If anyone is interested, I also have planned to record the experience of this OWS of LoE, so you can find me or only give a cameo at the time to be with me[size=78%]

D: I downloaded the update, it says its up to date, but everytime I try logging in to play it says I need to update the game! This game is so hard to play.... I would honestly pay if this would be up all the time.... and not just 3 days a month.... I havent been able to play once... DD: I'll keep trying but if I can't Im gonna just keep watching updates on FB for when its finally available to play anytime..( I hope someday...)

Tried re-downloading, opening from the finder window, all the usual tricks. There's at least one other person in the bug reporter with the same issue.
@ocbaker Can you help me? I downloaded the skill patch for my x86 (32-bit) Version but it isn't working. Every time I replace the "Managed" folder with the new data, the pony select screen won't load anymore after logging and choosing a server.
But I would hate it to it to not have skills this time. :'( And the 64-bit Version isn't working for me at all, so I can't download the other version of the skillpatch.
This OSW is not what I was expecting for. :s

Extract the data from the original .. overwrite everything again and do not apply the patch.... is it better to be able to get into the game and do something...... or have working skills that you can't use because you're staring at a waitlist or experiencing the inability to do anything due to the faulty patch.

Using a variety of different browsers simultaneously, I finally managed to get all the downloads, including patches, out of mega.co.nz. I hope to never return to that abomination of a site.
Here's a torrent of all the files. In your torrent client, you can select to only download the files relevant to your operating system.
Not an official link and is considered unsafe, as a reponse the link has been removed. Please avoid posting links to downloads of the game and please use the official link.
So happy that legend of equestria is out but idk if anyone else is having this problem and if you know how to fix it please help, but everything i try to log on to a server i get a window that pops LoE_x64_2015-02-20.exe has stopped working :( and then it continues with "a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available" and then never pops back up
When I open LoE, the game is EXTREMELY SLOW. It will let me log in, and click a server, but the character selection screen doesn't show up... I just get this:

I'm also on mac. I have reinstall the game, check security and privacy allowed the game, and made sure that I have all the mac updates completed. I still get same error as you FloatsYourGoat.

I have try this as well. It still refuse to run me.

I think the servers are closed for now. They did state 12AM EST which is 9PM PST. Too bad it's a short time to spend our time on this compensation, but oh well. Probably Next time if they do this again someday (or the next pony or bronycons)

one server has been down I think if I recall the exact time for about 30-40 minutes.. while the other one was offline for about 5-10 minutes.. and then when it came back up.... the first few minutes where few were on the server... it was smooth sailing... but soon as a bunch of people started showing up... randomly disconnecting various people... gets more rapid as more join.. until you can't stay logged in more than say 30 seconds ....
As of right now though.. both are entirely inaccessible...
And there goes the other server.

We need three servers like last month to cope with all the people playing o.o
it's quite expensive task to have servers and such....

EEup! hope their is a fix . just got to go to bed and hope for the best Tomorrow , not much else we can do . They will be able to fix it I believe in them .
I'm pretty sure they do server restarts in certain situations like this, but we'll have to see what kind or type of action will the staff and devs take.
Yep, servers are down hard. They "ping" according to the server selection page, but I can't even connect to them at the TCP level. Been stuck in SYN_WAIT for minutes... DD:

I tried to download but after finishing the x64 download on MEGA it just said 'failed - no file'. Just have to wait some more I guess.... :c
I'm having the same problem downloading the 32 bit as the last server weekend. Every time I do this, I get 'Failed-No File'. Is there a way to fix this. Last time somebody kind shared it on dropbox so I was able to get in via that route but i haven't found once such instance for this particular client.
If anyone can lend a hand, it'll be much appreciated.

Hi, if you are downloading with mega, the only way to get the *zip file with the game (at least for me it worked) is to download it trough internet explorer. Mega needs some plugins (or better say... *cofs* publicity plugins *cofs) to run on other browsers like firefox or chrome.
If someone are still having problems with mega, I can upload it to my mediafire cloud for the weekend, if its okay with the moderators.

I can't seem to get the downloaded files to extract correctly... It keeps saying that particular files can't be opened or something along those lines. I tried a different browser and to extract just one folder at a time but nothing seems to work. Has anybody else had this problem and managed to fix it?
I not know how to put the OSE on LoE to work.

I got that for a while. The problem was bad internet connection, i'm pretty sure. refreshing my internet fixed it.

The servers aren't replying for me either.

the servers froze up while I was on and now wont reply at all yet. Just hope it ain't those ddos attempts again.
