I'm willing to bet this has been done to death.. I only recently watched mlp season 4 and noticed a Dr. Whoves and another pony with a "rose" cutie mark... I can only assume Rose Tyler. I only barely caught it, as its fast... But when i did i instantly started dying laughing
I'm sure I'm not the only one to catch it, i just thought it was neat!

It was indeed a blatant reference.  Not only Dr. Whooves with Roseluck, but he's also wearing 3D glasses in reference to the Doctor Who season 2 finale.
