The two listened as Starlight muttered whatever she was muttering again and ignored the words she said. She was repeating what she had said earlier, but the two couldn't help but get freaked out by her. Until...
"Whoa! Bear with us!"
Navine noticed that Starlight was coughing and collapsing. "Starlight!"
The two stayed by the sick pony until they heard something rustling in the trees. It was something strange, but the two didn't want to deal with it yet.
Thinking it was the monster catching up with them, Strongcolt said, "We wish you luck, Starlight."
"Wait, what?"
Before she could understand what was going on, Navine was being lifted and placed on Strongcolt's back. He then proceeded to start running as she watched the sick pony. "Nooo!"
And with that, the two continued to run. But they could find no way out, and it was frustrating. It was like they were running in circles and not finding a way out. They wanted to leave; they didn't know what to do if they stayed any longer without an exit.

"And we're trying to find a way out. We can't find it," Strongcolt added.
Well, at least there was someone else joining their small group. "Nice to meet you, Starlight."
"Now come on. I've seen enough disappearing mares for one day."

"Hey, there's somepony here!" Navine excitedly said to Strongcolt, "Maybe she knows a way out."
She led Strongcolt to the mare and approached her calmy. Then, she said, "The thing is probably behind us..." and started to run again. This would be good so none of them would get caught, but then again they didn't know that someone was stalking them in the meanwhile.
"Hey, there's somepony here!" Navine excitedly said to Strongcolt, "Maybe she knows a way out."

2014 Apr 27, 14:53:25Today was the day. Today, Navine and her special somepony were off to a pony's birthday party. They weren't too sure why they were invited; sure, they met the stallion a few times before, but maybe he liked the couple as friends or something. They just knew that their schedules were going to be packed as ever, especially since the party would occupy the entire schedule.
"Do you have the gift ready, Jax?" Navine asked her special somepony. She was sort of upset with him because he only recently told her his real name, but that didn't stop her from actually loving him.
Jax strongly nodded. "Yep! Got it riiiiiight here." Wrapped in a green box, the small gift made its way to Navine's pack. It was polite to bring a present, after all, because they got invited to his party. The present was a pop-up book they made themselves, sure, but the story was a good one; it was about a mare finding her place with the right ponies after bad ponies made fun of her and she decided to get the buck out of there. Navine wrote it herself, and she was rather proud of it.
Navine nodded and smiled, "Alright! Let's go find this cabin!" Though she didn't trust a party in a cabin, she was going to go anyway because it was a birthday party. So the two left home and made their way through town and in the outskirts.
After a short while, the couple saw balloons in the distance. Navine jumped up and down excitedly, saying, 'There it is!" She picked up the pace and went off to the cabin, Jax following close behind her. And they arrived just in time to hear music coming on.

"Look." He pointed to something across from them, something all too familiar. The figure.
"RUN!"
The couple made headway and made a break for it, leaving behind the landmark. But as they ran, Navine left an imprint on a tree with her magic so she could find the place later on. She really wanted to know what the thing said. She wanted to find a way out of this forest.

Strongcolt looked around and noticed that nobody was actually behind them the entire time and that they were alone.
"Hey, we're on our own again."
Navine pouted, seeing that they were stuck in the dark forest with nobody else around them. "Great. Just what we needed." She turned on her periwinkle light and beckoned to Strongcolt to follow her.
"Hey," he asked her, "Why are we moving?"
Navine replied with ease, "Because! The thing will find us if we stand around like derps, so we gotta move so he has no ground to find us."
Agreeing with her logic, Strongcolt nodded and started to follow her as he said, "Alright. If that's what we're doing."
And so they walked. They were on their own, just like when they first started out; the only difference was back then, they didn't know about a monster. Now they were watching their backs and walking on like they were going to be hunted at any second. They moved quickly to cover more ground so they could find a way out, so they wouldn't end up like Windfrost. They carried forth and thought of nothing but escaping the forest, because what was the point of staying when ponies were dying? They knew there was a way of escaping, but they just had to look for it.

After a while of running, Strongcolt stopped. He found himself in the middle of the forest, still with no way out. 'Great. We still can't get out.' Either way, he still had Navine on his back and the other two mares behind him. He gently slid Navine to the ground and lifted her face with his hooves.
"Hey," he started in a gentle tone, "we're safe now. It's going to be okay."
Navine lifted her head and looked at him with teary blue eyes. "But... but the mare..."
Strongcolt softly shushed her and gently hugged her. "It's okay. We tried, okay? That's what matters."
And with that, Navine cried in his chest. It didn't matter to her that others were watching; she was having a rough night already, and she couldn't help it. She could feel Strongcolt's hoof brushing her curly mane in an effort to calm her down, and it was somewhat working. She stopped crying after a few minutes and parted the hug, but Strongcolt brushed her tears from her cheeks with his nose.
"You're okay."
The two exchanged small smiles and then turned to face the other two.
"Sorry about that." She rubbed the back of her head with her hoof and said, "We gotta find a way out of this place..."

Ace Charming is a pegasus and has an Ace of Hearts for his cutie mark. River has known them since foalhood, but she sometimes gets jealous because they have their cutie marks. She likes to swim but it has nothing to do with her cutie mark. She wishes that she could just get her cutie mark already.

2014 Apr 24, 21:08:31The two were running, alright. They were running faster than the breeze that was blowing, and quicker than maybe a bullet. But when Strongcolt felt lighter on his back, he stopped. Navine stopped shortly after, noticing something very wrong.
"Wait..."
Wind Frost was gone.
"Hey!"
"Where are you?!"
They could only see one thing as they tried to eye for their newfound friend: the ghastly pony from the recording.
"No." Navine had an idea of what happened. Wind let go of Strongcolt and sacrificed herself to make sure the couple got away.
"NO!!"
Navine lowered herself to the ground and got rid of her wings. The tears started to form in her eyes and she layed down to cry. Seeing this, Strongcolt picked her up and placed her on his back.
"Please don't cry." He started off running again, Navine's aura keeping her on his back, and he saw that the other two ponies from before had found them. "Come on! We have to go quickly!"
Strongcolt knew that the group was so bucked, but he didn't lose any hope of them surviving the night. He didn't want to see Navine cry, but she couldn't help it; and he wasn't going to stop her from crying either. He reminded himself to hug Navine when they found a safe place away from the monster and kept on running.

Navine could see that Wind Frost was holding on to Strongcolt, so she pulled her up on his back with her magic. She focused her magic a bit and sprouted wings, because she always knew how to do that. She then flew up, giving Wind some more room as Navine stayed close. She looked towards the creature and fired another beam towards it; eithout seeing whether it hit or not, her magic directed itself to Strongcolt's legs. He couldn't run fast enough to outrun that monster, no matter how hard he tried, so she gave him a boost. The periwinkle aura focused on the grass and at Strongcolt's moving hooves.
"Ice maneuver!"
The ice maneuver was something Strongcolt and Navine would do together. It consisted of Strongcolt using his speed and Navine using her magic to give boosts of speed by forming ice only where he was stepping. It always worked because Strongcolt was good at keeping his balance, unlike Navine herself.
"Hang on tight!"
She set her aura to the patches of grass and Strongcolt's hooves, and ice started to form. With each step Strongcolt took, it would make him go faster. And with those increases of speed, Navine would follow with her flight. It was bad that she couldn't fly very high, but she wouldn't leave her special somepony behind anyway. Hopefully the ice boost would help them escape as Navine melted the ice left behind.
