It's highly possible they could have two separate servers, one for a stress test and one for showing off anything new they have made for Canterlot Gardens. All they really need is the server software on more then one PC. Granted I have no idea if this is correct or not but it is a possibility.

You are correct. One of the servers will be set to let anyone connect, and another will only let team members connect.

I unno, I was thinking of the whole Fighting is Magic fiasco, of when someone leaked that game and even made a custom server for it..

They wouldn't have to just create a new server - they'd have to modify the client as well. Currently, the client contacts both the game server, as well as the website (for login and a server list). I would heavily recommend against downloading a modified client, as it'd be relatively trivial to be used it as a trojan. This is also why we are recommending against downloading the game from anywhere else other than what will be provided from the main site.

System Requirements

• 2 GB ram
• dual core processor, somewhere near 2 GHz. A single core processor works, but is not recommended. SSE2 is required (pretty much anything after 2005)
• an okay graphics card. generally if the computer is made after 2007, you'll be fine. The bare minimum would probably be 128 MB vram, DirectX9.0c/OpenGL3.0
• 4 gigabytes of hard drive space
• OS: windows, mac osx, or linux

Names and accounts

Your login information for the game is what it is for the forum - if you change your password for the forum, it will change for the game.  Characters will also be linked to your forum account.
