Lucky Number

I like to believe that numbers have an impact on daily-life. Yes, you read correctly, numbers.

Like, for instance, 7 is a lucky number, while 13 is very, very unlucky. I'm not the kind of person that would believe in luck, but, what's life without a little imagination. But like I was saying, there are bigger numbers such as "42" or "666". I like to think that 42 is the answer to life, while 666 is the number of the beast.

I mainly created this thread because I also like to believe that your favorite number can be your very own lucky number. Like, my favorite numbers are 42 and 164, and so I see those numbers a lot. You may think it's coincidence, but still, it's that little think called imagination that I actually bother waking up in the morning.

Hilarious thing is if you look at the number 42 from the Japanese perspective.
4 = Shi
2 = Ni
Death = Shini

42 is the number for death.

Also, the Japanese consider the number 4 to be unlucky because the word for it has an association with the word for death. So, while buildings in America never have a 13th floor, buildings in Japan tend not to have a 4th floor.

I read about that too, where 42=Death, but there are ways the number is lucky. Shini was the only thing I found that made the number 42 seem bad.

Personally I think there is no such thing as lucky/unlucky numbers, 42 and 666 have no meaning beyond what they are, etc.
14 is my favorite number, however. Not sure why.

To me I see "lucky" numbers as a self-assurance of a good future ahead, long term or short and thus don't really believe them.
So sadly I don't have one.
I will not lie though that the number 8 will always be a number I'm fond of simply because it is something you can write forever; a vertical infinite sign.

I really like the number 8 too, but that's just because it's fun to write, I think. I've also liked writing capital B. It's a similar shape.

In some form of Chinese, Mandarin or Cantonese, don't they have to do with money, or something? Either six or eight has to do with money.

4 is unlucky in Japanese for the same reason.

That's actually why the writer of Death Note decided on it taking 40 seconds for the name written to take effect.

I'm going to hazard a guess and say 101 is an unlucky number for me. Why? Because that is the number part of the license plate of my car and I have had bad luck with the darn thing for the past 3 months since I bought it.

Edit: including today, and I don't think the car is going to survive much longer.
Edit 2: As for my lucky number... 22. Because reasons.

I'm not that really superstitious of 13 I mean think about it everyone turns 13 when they get older someday and if it were bad luck every one who was 13 would have had a miserable year that entire year.

It's only in some circumstances where 13 is a bad number. Like, I don't believe in Friday the 13th or anything like that, but I do believe the number 13 is unlucky either way.

And there's a lot of proof everywhere about only 13 episodes in season 3!
