Title: Travius Trott's Minecraft server. [well, it was a pleasure being admin for this]

Well, as my latest post on this said, I can no longer keep this server up, so from the 1/2 2013 the server will likely be shut down.
Pardon that I had given no earlier information about this, but it only serves to prove how barking useless an admin I've become over the times.

so, now the server is up and running again.
Also I managed to scavenge most of the whitelist so at least that can be used for this one. But there are some ponies that were not added proper, pray send me a message if you find that you're not on it.

So, more flavour text here I take note of is needed, so I will give it a try!
This server, a server made for the ponies from this site, for them to play on and have fun! While we wait for this most brilliant pony MMO to be finished.

Please send me a message if you want to be whitelisted and I shall look to it.
The current IP is: 209.236.121.164

Also, here is a useful mod which will turn players into ponies, please read the trough the topic for help to installing it and for making your own skin. The topic on the MC forums. (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/748553-123-mine-little-pony-v121/)

The rules on the server are few, and most important of them is: Common-sense, which includes the following: No greifing, no touching other ponies stuff without their permission, do not build too close to other ponies without their permission, and please no X-ray texture packs.
I might add more to this topic as needed.



Also, if you have any concerns, complaints, or just want an answer to a question, then feel free to send me a PM.
If you want to report somepony for being very rude, then pray do use /whois >nickname< to find out the MC name of the pony, and, send me a message containing both the actual name, and the nickname, if there are more players of same nick, then send all the real names to me.

The first time I played Minecraft I spent every waking moment for a week playing it
then I've been playing at healthy levels ever since.

I don't have many servers in my list right now, might give this one a try sometime soon.

id love to join. i have been looking for a mc pony server to join. tried broodhooof to hard to get inn. and i tried another one(cant remember the name) were i was ranked as luna. but one of the admins was jealous and renamed herself as luna and me as nyx:(

Well, it is hard to explain, but if one is caught multiple times then I will give a temp ban, and if that pony is caught again, then I will ban permanently.

weird the sever isn't down, but I can't connect to it through minecraft, prehaps I'm being blocked.  Who ever is running the server needs to be questioned about this.

The server did crash, badly too.

I have an important question: Is it creative? I prefer to be creative.

Edit: Another question. If I install that Mine Little Pony mod on one computer and reskin my pony person, will it affect my account/person in any way when I play Minecraft on another computer? Or would I have to install the mod on that other computer too?

I see. So if I have the pony mod on computer 1, but not computer 2, and I reskin my character for the pony, will the character have been automatically reskinned to match for computer 2 as well even though it's a human? Sorry I'm such a newb.

Well, I think I should answer your question, it is survival, mostly because I like Minecraft for having to mine and such, and also to make it harder to grief.

As for the MLP skin thing, you will appear humanoid on computers that have it not installed, but on computers that have it installed you will look like a pony.

So, in a nutshell, you will look like a humanoid pony to those that does not have the mod, and a pony to those that have it.

Sadly yes, I have looked for something to make the server safe and able to get offline mode on it too.
For now I had no luck with finding anything I could get to work.

Due to some, finacial, problems the server is down for the next few days.
But pray do not worry, I will get it up again as soon as possible. Which should be the day after tomorrow.

I'm sad to say that, due to instability of the server and very little activity, that The server will only run for this month, and then I might run a server from another host, but I can not guarantee that the world will be kept.

Umm, as for the server, did you read the last post I made, It's far too unstable for prober usage.
This IP will be closed from next month on, thus it's fairly useless to add new people to the list.

And well, the skins are what the player sets them to, the server have no plugins for that alter, nor adds pony skins itself.

So, tried to get another host, and this time a server that's smaller and cheaper, and hopefully more stable.

I have only just now paid for it, and will as soon I get the prober info and get it up and running prober say the IP.

It says I need internet connection, but I do. Can somepony send me a really good download link?

Also, do I need to pay to actually get ON the game? Can't find single player download and it says I cannot access multi-player.  :l

Umm, firstly, one have to buy minecraft to log into the server, it's to make sure one does not hijack a whitelisted account and such.

Secondly, to join the server one have to go to 'Multiplayer' and enter the full IP of the server into the box that says 'Server Address' Remember to make sure that there is no spaces, neither infront or after the ful IP.

Thirdly, I took the install instructions from the minecraft forum topic and here in the spoiler.
Spoiler:  Instructions to install Mine Little Pony to Minecraft. • show


Risugami's ModLoader is not required unless you want to use the ModLoader version of this mod.

Instructions for installing the normal version:
Spoiler: show


Back up your original minecraft.jar before you install this mod! Otherwise you won't be able to remove this mod without re-installing Minecraft.

Download the zip file containing the new class files and background pony skins needed by the mod. Extract the classes (.class), text file (.txt) and skins (.png) from the zip file. You will need to copy the new classes and the text file into the root of the original minecraft.jar, and the new skins into the "mob" folder of the original minecraft.jar.

Windows:
1) Open up %appdata%, if you don't know how to do this, start>run, then type in %appdata%
2) Browse to .minecraft/bin
3) Make a backup (copy) of your minecraft.jar as this mod will overwrite some of the original minecraft classes.
4) Open up minecraft.jar with WinRAR or 7zip.
5) Drag and drop the necessary class files and text file into the root (top level) folder of the jar.
6) Drag and drop the necessary png files into the "mob" folder of the jar.
7) Delete the META-INF folder in the jar.
Macintosh:

1) Make a backup (copy) of your original minecraft.jar file (which you can find in ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar) as this mod will overwrite some of the original minecraft classes.
2) Go to Applications>Utilities and open terminal.
3) Type in the following, line by line:
cd ~
mkdir mctmp
cd mctmp
jar xf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar
4) Outside of terminal, copy all the class files and the text file into the mctmp directory.
5) Still outside of terminal, copy all the png files into the mctmp/mob directory.
6) Back inside terminal, type in the following:
rm META-INF/MOJANG_C.*
jar uf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar ./
cd ..
rm -rf mctmp


Instructions for installing the ModLoader version:

1) Install ModLoader as per the instructions in Risugami's thread.
2) Download the zip file of the version of this mod for Modloader, and put it in your mods folder (found in %appdata%.minecraft/mods on Windows, or ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/mods if you are on a Mac) .


Now the mod is installed, you will need to change your skin to a special "Mine Little Pony compatible" skin otherwise you will look like one of the background ponies yourself. There are some example skins in the "Download" section of this post, and a tutorial about how to create your own skins in the "Skinning" section.

Once you have the mod installed, run Minecraft and switch to the third-person view (F5) to see yourself as a pony!


Oh, and on a last note, I need to add new players to a whitelist, so I need the username used for minecraft, and best if sent by PM.

So there I was, fighting for my life against a creeper, as one tends to do against creepers, when it inevitably explodes almost killing me.  The Princess Celestia Desktop pony chose THAT time to say "These creatures are adorable!"

I love you Cele, but sometimes I think you are called Trollestia for a reason... :l

If the former is the case then please send me a PM with your Minecraft name and I shall add ya.
For the latter I'd say go google it, I'm using Obsidian host and I have yet to have any issues with them, and they can be cheap if you want a small server.

I have a problom. It keep going like "Failed to vrifey name" ever time I try to get on the sever. I did /nick LarryMcLie and it worked if thats the case.

Exactly.   all kidding aside; what's probably happening is that Travis's hosted server can't reach the Minecraft.net name server.  As a result you can't enter since it can't verify you.

If anyone is getting errors about 'Unknown Host Exceptions' when trying to join an online server, this is because Mojang have had to change some stuff around due to certain problems.

It should fix itself after a while, but If you wanted a quick fix, you can try this:

I don't accept any responsibility if something goes wrong, nothing bad happened for me, and it did fix the problem

You will need 'Full Control' administration permissions to edit the file. Also note that the guide only covers Windows PC's. Presumably it should work for XP through 7, unless the directories changed, I don't think they have?

If you aren't confident in editing files in your system folders, don't do it, just be patient and it *should* work itself out.

No, the server did not get reset when updated from 1.2 to 1.3, but  before the map was limited so that the new things added with 1.3 is also on it, but not quite near spawn.

Whenever I log in, I see a snow biome with a few buildings for a moment or two, but I then immediately get kicked out. Has the white list been reset, or am I having some technical difficulties?

Can anypony help me? I can´t get the mod to work for 1.3.1, and I can´t find any version for it. It works perfectly on 1.2.5, but not at all on 1.3.1.

First note, it's likely that those that are working on that 'Mine Little Pony' have no updated it to 1.3.1 if their main topic on the MC forums is not stating that it's up to date.
Second note, this server does not require that the players have the mod installed, as it only changes the rendering of the client to make players appear as ponies and nothing more.

You may have not been added yet. It's not like Taivus will instily see your PM and add you. Try to get on once everyday.

Now I am happy to announce that I've managed to get up at least a bit of balance for the pony races, if one wants to be added to a race, then send me a PM, or try and catch me or Noy_Gazer on the server to become the race you want to be.
Note that I will only change a player once, as I do not want any to exploit the races with shifting all the time.

I will also make a inserver 'tutorial' for the runes so that one can see how all the runes are meant to look like, and get some info.

True, and for what I know, it seems to be an issue with Mojang's login servers. I will try to find out 'bout this issue soonly.

I have to inform all that there have been some 'griefing' of the psychological kind on the server, So I have to remind everypony that it's very rude, and even harmful to tell lies, misinform of the server's workings, and other ways of confusing a new player.
If one does such an action 2 or more times I will ban that pony temporarily, but that's the last chance, if one is caught doing this a third time, and I hear of it, then the pony who did this shall be banned permanently. Take note, that this, is only for when it's more than just a petty lie, but rather of the scale I heard of happened the other day.

Also, in response to this issue I have given access to a certain command: /Whois <nickname> which will display the info of said player online with that nick, so also pray do give me the name this commands gives you if you want to report any maluse of nicknames, or trolling in general.

A quick announcement for the server.
I will start moderating builds that are within the spawn area, and I will place signs at builds to tell what sort of changes that I'm looking for to be made in said builds, and take note that Capt's hotel is lying just beyond the border for spawn, but also that I can not quite describe where the other borders are.

And, it's only in the spawn town that one can risk getting told off, but also I will write some points on how to avoid being told to change a build:
Spoiler: List of things one should keep in mind when building in spawn, and also in general. • show

-how tall the build is and what shape: While I hate to put up a hard limit on this, but pray try and keep it smaller than 15-20 blocks, also the shape is also a determining point, as a tower, which there is more than enough of in spawn, is slim, tall and often round in shape. To tell if a build is a tower then it's a simple way: is it taller than it's slimmest surface seen from the top, then it's a tower.
Bear in mind that it's good if the build is not a plain box, but also have some manner of shape to define it with, to make it less boxy is always a good way to pass, even if the build is too tall.
-What manner of materials to use: well, as long it's not just plain one material, such as making a only birch-planks, or only cobble stone, or only alternating between two materials with a larger build.
-how much space it takes, and where it's placed: Also, bear in mind that the location of a build compared to other builds is also important, as a build of 'cold' materials will not look neat when it's between builds of 'warm' materials, and it also makes the 'warm' builds look less neat, it also accounts in reverse.
-Warm and cold materials: materials can, from an artistic point of view be made from cold and warm materials, also note that a build can be of both warm and cold, but it's the material that are most notable that tells if a build is either or. Just below I will try to make a list of warm, cold, and also neutral materials.
And while I tell to be aware of this, also know that the spawn zone itself is a cold zone, so warm builds are more inviting there, and stand well contrasted to the cold soil.

this cowers things that are dark, coloured in red, brown, and yellow tones.
Most woods are considered warm, with the exception of white wood.
Wools can also be warm depending on what dye was used.
Obsidian and lava are also warm materials, but they do often fit better in a cold build for contrast.

Spoiler: Neutral • show
Some materials, are hard to define whenever they are warm or cold, such as cobble.
Also, it cowers the green and purple colours due to them lying just on the border of warm and cold.

Spoiler: Cold • show
Materials that are bright and bluish coloured, snow, ice, smooth-stone, glass, blue coloured wools, white woods, and other materials that are similarly coloured.


Also, if you build outside of spawn, then I also recommend taking a look at the list still, as I've also written some general building advice of my own, pray do correct me any of you see something I'm mistaken on in that list.

Also, beware of where you log out, as one could log in and end up inside the blocks above, so a good rule of thump, log out in a place with more than a blocks space over your character.

Also, any plugins that are client side in any way, can not be added to the list, due to that preventing some to use the server.

I restarted the server, and it should be running now proper again.

Also, I have gotten the feeling that this world we use is starting to get a bit, well, stretched so I started considering to reset it sometime.
Note that the old world will be easier to retrieve than on the olden server, so if the world is no good or we simply want to have the old world again it can be done on a short notice.

Also, I am also very much reconsidering the race bonuses, and have come to the decision that it was likely not the best way I did it, and thus I will ask you all to tell if I should keep it, or just revert the server to almost being a vanilla one, save for the practicality of Runecraft teleporters.

Personal opinion I think it would be better with just vannila, and those teleports, because if you look back at it the first rendition of this server was the best community and build wise so prehaps that state should return again but, i have lost points to speak scince i dont visit as much as i used to

Well, the issue is that I've only noted the flight being used, and of what I understand it's too complicated the rest of the things with runecraft and commands.
I wanted this server to be light and only hold the plugins needed for keeping it safe and working.

Varies, but now a days the number is less than before, but abouts 3-8 unique logins per day, likely a few more.
As the list I have only says who's been on latest, and not the exact days.

I've been on and off the server, mostly because I'm either working on a texture pack or playing other games (especially during the weekends when I play with others over wi-fi). I've also been trying to work on a blueprint for my future home on Singleplayer, so it'll probably be a while before I "properly" play again :(

I may rejoin sometime since I'm already white listed as well, although Tekkit kind of has me addicted with all the new stuff at the moment I have missed playing as a pony though, which does not work well with Tekkit. Hopefully the Earth Pony Unicorn and Pegasus plugins will be updated soon although are we allowed to pick a different race since the world was started over?

I am enjoy My time in the server a lot. It a bit lonely there not lot of player but I will keep going there anyway

I was on the server yesterday on my laptop and 90% of my stuff was gone, my dogs were dead(still), and my snowman was dead, I think the thief killed my dogs and snowman and took all my stuff  :'(

Edit: They also took from my farm as I saw fertile soil with no plants in it and my farm is private property...

The server is updated to 1.4.4, and also I would recommend that all place a sign by their home to tell whom owns it, as I've noted a few homes without any 'owner sign' on it.

It will make my work with helping out after a thievery easier.

*Sigh*
Why are Mojang pumping out updates enmasse at the moment... It will delay the bukkit update with a few weeks, pardon this annoyance..

Well, the server did indeed crash, and now is up again.

Though I'm not completely sure what the server version is, but it should not matter if it's 1.4.4 or 1.5 as the only thing affected is the client, I'm sure.


And, obbyhost went down... Hopefully for only a short while, I shall try and get the server up again the soonest possible.

I've only been playing for a few days, so I won't pretend to be devastated that it's going down. However, I can say that I have quite enjoyed the time I've spent playing as well as the company of the other ponies I've met on the server. I will certainly come back if you make a new server. We can rebuild it! Maybe some new players will come if they find out it's refreshing.

Well... considering real life just LOVED to get in the way, I didn't really get to do much; however, I know that feeling all too well. I always hate having to start over, but at the same time this gives everypony a fair chance at what they want to do and where to go. I never understood Tekkit, and at the moment now wouldn't be a good time for me to get accustomed to everything it offers.

Well, they did, but the problem is, that for some reason I'm a complete daftie when it comes to Multicraft, as it seems that I can not download any information to my own system from it, even with FileZilla. Last I tried the booted me right off.

But I'm looking at a number of hosts, and my mind is made to avoid multicraft for the future.

It's quite hard to tell... the Obsidian host website has been down since Travius posted that message, I'm not sure if the owners decided to shut the website down, or if they are undergoing a large attack and the attackers sent out the email, and are continuing the attack on the site in order to keep it down and make it look genuine.

Certainly elaborate if it is a ruse.

It is plausible that if they've lost control of the website and the hackers are spoofing emails from them that messaging through their actual Minecraft servers (which are still running fine, so they probably haven't been hacked) is the best way to reach their users quickly (and quickly is more important than elegantly when your users are freaking out). Also, Minecraft cuts off the end of long messages, so that misspelled "fake" could simply be a cut off message. ...or hackers have gotten in, and they're just really sadistic getting our hopes up only to have them dashed again. I really hope it's the former. :s

Well, no matter the case, it's a fact that the safety of Obsidianhost have been lessened quite the bit, that both their site and Email is surely either being hacked or have been hacked.
And, that they have ahold of my personal information already, I ought to have used a fake name when registering for that host service, well suffice to tell that I do not quite trust this host by much anymore.


So, I'll be looking out for a new host for the server, and will when I get home try to scavenge at the very least the whitelist.

According to the Obsidian Host twitter feed, the email was sent out by an employee of Obsidian Host, and was not real. And that just the website is down temporarily, and their server hosting is fine.

But if they have employees working against them, I wouldn't trust them with my personal info either.

Umm on latest news; I got spammail from different minecraft hosts.

One of the mails is not as much spam though, but is from Hostmink's site, and it seems that it was the employees that broke off the obbyhost, and if the mail is true then the CEO was a no-good one.

Well this is the confirmation that I can not trust neither obby nor mink for hosting, tomorrow I will attempt to get another server up and running.

There, now the server is paid, and I will update the main topic with a new IP when I have managed to configure the server it right.

And, it's again time for that this server is used by the let's play group of these forums, and this time I will not partake in it, as I will go to sleep now, and open this server up for normal use as soon I can do it. Which may be in quite the while after the let's play is done.

And, done now the server is up normally again.

To be honest, I can no longer keep the server up as I have too many things that require my attention and money for the matter.

So, today will likely be the last day that it is up, though, I have downloaded the worlds, and plan on uploading them to someplace where they can be downloaded. Though... For the let's play, I have no idea what to do with..

Also, for those that Want to play on a Vanilla Minecraft server for LoE, I may know of someplace, but I have it not confirmed it, I admit.
