Night Flame

I want to organize weekly or biweekly PvP meetups for pones who want to spar. To address the large disparities in gear and level, I have devised level and gear tiers to try to have balanced fights.

LEVEL TIERS
We use Pony PvP Level (or PPL) to measure the raw strength of a pony.

Pony PvP Level: combat level + highest secondary talent level*
*: we only consider talents that can actually be used in fights, such as Medical and Partying.

A fight is considered balanced if ponies are within 10 PPL of each other.

Here are a few examples:
- John Darksouls: combat 50, magic 30 => PPL 80
- John Sekiro: combat 40, flying 50 => PPL 90
- John Warcraft: combat 35, animal 35 => PPL 70
John Darksouls would have balanced fights with both John Sekiro and John Warcraft, but John Sekiro and John Warcraft would not have a balanced fight, as the difference between their PPL is larger than 10.

GEAR FORMATS
We use gear formats to allow ponies with different progression to fight. If both ponies use the same gear format, the fight should be balanced.

Format restrictions- NO GEAR -- RESTRICTED -- UNRESTRICTED -- UNLIMITED -
ArmoursOnly Weather pendants*no Harmonious, no Phoenix, no DSD gear**All gearAll gear
HarmoniesNoneMax level: 2All harmoniesAll harmonies
ConsumablesNoneNoneNoneAll consumables
*: Imbued Kirin Horn is banned in this format.
**: Book, Laurel, Lantern, Sandals are banned. Imbued Kirin Horn is allowed.

Gear Tiers rational:
- No gear allows most abilities to shine, but removes build expression. This is the most accessible format, allowing the most ponies to partake in PvP.
- Restricted allows for build expression at the cost of some abilities falling behind in power, potentially reducing variety. This format is easy to reach, even without having access to an artisan.
- Unrestricted allows for the most specialised builds, and hopefully the largest variety of strategies. Very limited format, as not everypony has access to maxed Phoenix/Harmonious armour.
- Unlimited adds a small bits sink to the game, for ponies who want to bother with more buttons. It shouldn't be much more enjoyable that Unrestricted though.

Note that the No gear format might have some unbalanced abilities, such as Magic Arrow and its crazy high base damage. In the future, some abilities might be banned in some gear formats if they are too problematic.

Please share your thoughts about the suggested level and gear rules. Even if you don't have suggestions, please post if you are interested, so I can somewhat measure the pool of potential players. From there we can start deciding on days and times to meet and fight!
