He's only legitimate when he deposes the princesses. Because if history has proved anything, legitimacy of a monarch doesn't matter if you win and remove the pretenders from life. You can poke through medieval European politics - and even Asian or Middle Eastern - and people pulling up their right to rule through claiming relation to a dead-ended part of their family that may not even be legally related anymore to depose the guy that the title drifted to by default through the succession laws.

Or the Chinese case the little rule called Mandate of Heaven which has been the justification that allowed a peasant to depose the Mongols and start a new dynastic line.

Honestly, I think that would just end up creeping out the pony involved coming from some random stranger from another world.

That's why you start in hangout mode. Or perhaps pone will be first to help you in this new world.

So the realities can be pretty diverse... Don't you think?

And then abominations happen.

Dude, chill.

Just chill.

See, you're still taking things too seriously, together with your pessimism. Stop being so pessimistic! The internet may have done bad things, but it's done wonderful things as well! People make friends from across the world through the internet, or reconnect with friends that have gone across the world through it. People learn about this annoying thing called timezones through the internet. People have online businesses and make money they couldn't have made otherwise.

Why don't you take a step back and take a look at the good side of things, instead of disregarding them completely?

Let's not forget the democratization of information and the ability to amass movements in response to negative social change or events. Shall I invoke Vivian James in reference to the current Quinspiracy?

Time goes by and stuff dies. The industries that can not adapt or refuse to update die. Such is a fact of the free market. But Blockbuster and company was hardly a major employer or one employing valuable high-skill employees. So its worth in the grand scheme of shut downs in a market with growing emphasis on high-skill service jobs is pretty nill. You won't see me shed a tear over a brick and mortar whose services are fourth class compared to Netflix.

The result of the lack of technology in Equestria. Boredom. Princess Celestia is the reason for banning television and internet in Equestria. It's a police state now! Everyone knows that television exists in Equestria, but Celestia bans things that will impact relationships with other ponies. This is why many bronies don't want to live in Equestria, because of no internet!

> No Internet in Equestria
> Brony not wanting to go to Equestria because no internet
> Not because he won't be able to cuddle his waifu
> Not because he won't be able to tuck his waifu in bed.
> Not because he would spaghetti.
> Not because the portal to Equestria totally isn't in Maine.
> Not because he knows he won't be capable of spawning a hundred satyr abominations.
> Not because he wouldn't be able to introduce the world of flight and the concept of AI to Twilight Sparkle to create plane ponies.
> Not because he wouldn't be capable of
doing loving things to waifu/husbandu.

Roll again.

I got to ask: is it really all that hard to look at Twi's expression and then the background content? It's more related to the topic I feel than you believe.

There are things I am tempted to say about these last posts. But I'm keeping my mouth shut.

Why don't you ask then? I don't even get Twi's expression and the background! You make no sense at all and are like those members who want me to stop posting new topics that they deem worthless. This is what annoys me about this forum. It's way too strict. I bet you think I'm childish, don't you?

When you average a thread a day for overall menial subjects that can be wrapped up nicely into a General then it's pretty justified to not take anything you're putting out seriously. If you're new and all to the art of foruming then I can probably see your energy for wanting to post as many threads as possible. But let's be serious: roughly a thread or a thread and a half a day is a great way to discover the wrong way to get to a classification of posting whose name I would probably be banned for invoking.

And thread topics about lunch boxes and stuff like this with the implied intent of serious ownership doesn't spell well on your person. Yes, I get it. You're a brony, we're a brony. We're all Horse <Cuddlers> here but there's a fine line between that marks where being "that guy" is. We all can't be the Brony of Happiness.  It's not exactly socially comfortable, shall we say. I'd invoke the relevant terminology for this sort of lack of social graces and balancing, but I'm sure it would just end my current streak as fast as the aforementioned posting classification.

In all: slow down, use threads that are already there, stop taking things so seriously, and if you really got to make a thread and if you have topics you want to discuss that's a common theme for all possible threads you could make: make a General on that topic. Don't fill things up with a dozen lunchbox threads. It really doesn't look good on you and frankly clutters the board with one-to-none post threads.

Those sorts of thick headed people who come to work looking for a simple thing and fifteen minutes later the issue isn't resolved because he keeps changing his conception of the end product every time you offer a solution. Then gets confused on how to work a screen door wheel.

Somedays I just want to watch this town burn.

To me it seems like an example of Plato's definition of a utopia, defined in his book Republic. Basically it says, people's jobs aren't based on credentials or pay or education, but their own natural talents.

That doesn't sound like a utopia, it sounds like an unfair caste system where people are stuck in the position they were born in with no opportunities for advancement. Pretty crappy economic system in my opinion.

A caste system implies you're born into a social strata with no way for your children or your kin to leave it. In such a system if you're born to the priests, you will be a priest. Or if born to a soldier, you will be a soldier. Your merit or your skill in other fields does not dictate where you will go later in life. Plato's social structure isn't really much of an unbroken caste system, or if it is is one of the more liberal caste structures from classical antiquity.

As opposed to the concept of caste which may have existed in classical Judea or India, there is a chance of getting your children out of your position and to something more economically promising by getting them training or nurturing an early developmental interest in something "better". If such a system were to work right, then your little minion will undoubtably test well enough in the thing he likes the most and get a job in his community doing that.

Of course I imagine in such a place work-arounds may at some point be implemented. If my knowledge of Plato's Utopia is right I don't believe it's really been put into operation as it intended. But I can imagine local economic disparities when no one does well enough to be a doctor and the entire town dies from the flu because everyone's whipping pigs with a stick. In that interest I would hope that they'd allow someone to retake it on the presumption that if they studied on something they're passionate about or the local despot decides they need more of X they can open something up to guide along social mobility.

But those whole concepts I don't think ever really flourished - at least in detailed writing circulated among the literary masses - until the 19th century and from the successive economic theories from then on. But that's more economics and less social philosophy: that'd get re-examined in full in Europe during the Enlightenment.

I'd throw one at you, but the guy who runs it is really uptight. So much so you could probably drop a pin in a silent room and he would get mad.

It's a nation RP server. It's lore is all really poorly written, and despite exerting maybe a quarter of the effort I could have I like to think I was tiers better than the lot. However I made him madd when I started uploading pictures of pone to the Wiki because they actually worked as depictions of at least two of my nation's gods pictures. Those being [abstract] depictions of Celestia and Luna.

He kicked me off there. I made a point to try and discuss the issue with him on the server. He got butt madd. And then I got banned.

So, if you REALLY want to I could send you a link to the Wiki which *might* give you contact leads. And if you do, and if you get in I'd like for you to make a promise for me: take control of Haison, treat my kebabs well, and maybe you can keep them from dry-erasing it from their world. I built some good stuff, it'd be a shame for it all to blow up because the admin got the rest of the server to remove horse.

On the irrelevant note: I've been mulling over opening a server myself. But I'm a lazy college-guy with work expectations to fill so I may not have the time to take the first steps in learning how to set one up.

So Wolfenstein: New Order's version of General Deathshead is pretty god-tier. Especially the final boss battle with him.

10/10, would blow up again to the sound of really metal dubs.
