Quote from: ObeyBunny on 2017 Sep 09, 17:38:39Otherwise, I have a silly question. Does it have to be our usernames that display over our heads or can we have custom names? I don't want to be ObeyBunny in the game. I want to be Limeflower, or Mellow Tone, or something else that actually sounds like a pony name.

You can name your character how you want, or have a randomly generated one. You need to login with your forum name and pass.

Quote from: McClaw on 2017 Sep 09, 15:36:35Sounds like a reason (and subject) to study!

If she would she would have to study 3D animation rather than 2D since the game is build in 3D ;)

Nope

You need new one.

Edit:
Quote from: Ellowee on 2017 Sep 08, 19:15:45Legends of Equestria is designed for Windows, MacOS, and Linux computers. To check if your computer will be able to run LoE, take a look at the details on our FAQ page!

It's been bugging me that whoever picked specs choose 256mb vram on gpu. It might need a correction to at least 512MB or 1GB to be safe. Why? Download GPU-Z close all running programs that can be closed and run GPU-Z. While the system is iddle the load will be ~256 MB VRAM. Then LoE is open it will jump by at least another half reaching even 400MB on the GPU. When the game will be running it will jump again.  Therefore:

1GB+ VRAM - safe for high full screen details
512 VRAM - medium-low
256 VRAM - low settings + playing in window mode

This is just the GPU's ram, not OS

Resolved Issues / Re: OAR Password Bug
2017 Sep 09, 14:56:52
@Oresa
Works fine here. Maybe you need to run the game as admin or place it where it is not blocked by the system.

@NorthWynd33
It is most likely just in case of multiuser pc's or playing at friend/cafe/other to prevent others from logging in. You can leave the passwork key blank and it will work fine if youre the only one playing on that machine.

Quote from: ssumppg on 2017 Sep 09, 13:58:58So, is it 00:01 AM EST (eastern standard time) or EDT (eastern daylight time)? I'm trying to figure out what time I can get on over here on the US west coast. X3

The diffrence would be 1 hour either way. Why not aim for the middle then?

That would be 9.5h +- 30 min

Quote from: Eldur on 2017 Sep 09, 11:00:03Can't find that one. The link does work though, but it's far from being comfy to dig out that one for reporting. My menu looks like this:

If you just made an account you might have to wait untill someone adds you/enables you to submit bug reports.

Other than that.

Once that will happen you will see a "+ Create Task" link under the search field.

Edit: Also it will only show if youre in Tasks on the gray left area.

What will happen if we are selected i really didn't understand i just said that I am not picked

At the top of the main forum page do you see "News" section? If you got in you will see above it "Limited Access Release" section. And keep waiting till monday to know for sure. Unless someone will say that all people that got in were updated.
49
Dont jump the gun saying you did not get in. It takes time to update peoples access rights, and someone with the ability to do it (admin, junior admin, tweeked mod) so give it a day, to know for sure. Just keep waiting till the 12th, if you will not see new section at the top or get a PM by then then you will know for sure.

They will not do it in 10 sec flat  :P

Way to stay positive about your chances.  ;)
And I agree, I think they would indeed be selecting from a variety of testers. Your setup may not be as much the norm as mine likely is, so I am sure you would be near retroactively selected, just for that alone, if it is all that unique.  ^-^

Me, I am sure I have a generic setup.  :P

I am running on a (an old non VR ready) gaming laptop, running Windows 8.1, an older i7 and older Nivida chip. Other than not being VR ready, it can play many 3D games quite well. It has little trouble with most any 2014 game. No Man's Sky, is one It can't play, as a newer game.

So, I got something good (good enough to play this, I am sure), though not a stand-out setup.  :s

Should be interesting to see if I get selected within the next few days. To those that do get in, cheers!  :D

Doubt it's your PC, No Man's Sky is just inherently optimised badly, it's one of the most disappointing PC games i've ever played. Refunded it  >:O

Actually it IS your PC. No Man's Sky requires GPU with OpenGL 4.5

Ya never know mate.

They could today, tmrw, the day after tmrw.. like I said, it could happen anytime.

I've been waiting patiently myself and have been wondering all this time rather who has been chosen for LAR. Well, hopefully in a few days or less that wait will be over and they may make an announcement saying they've looked all the Applications over and have made their decisions.

Just keep checking your inboxes guys cause you may find that golden letter from LoE Staff saying "Congratulations".

Well in a week all will be known and most likely when someone get a PM i bet one of the first people will write it here that he/she did

Well there was a question saying to add your computer information and I only added the type of my computer and the intel core and that it has RADEON graphics. I am not sure if I mentioned that I use windows  :o

For "type" would be a desktop or laptop and that would not be much of an information that they might have been looking for, but you provited procesor at least. For the radeon it might have been better to add which model. They also wanted resolution and amount of RAM would be nice.

For the future applications it might be a good idea to mention CPU-Z for people that do not know their specs. It can provide with: CPU name, memory (RAM) amount, and graphics name, which would be enough information for them. Apart from resolution.

For CPU name and ram you can also ctrl +alt + delete and select performance tab IF you are on windows 8/8.1/10  (windows 7 and XP will not show it there)

Only things I may have left out are the clipping through the ground (though somepony else addressed that), & my GPU, though where my GPU would be listed when looking up my system information... :s

Click on Start -> run -> type

devmgmt.msc

Or download GPU-z

The fact that I would want to produce performance benchmarks of the game, showing how it runs on different hardware, and then publish that online to help people know what they need to run the game.

But shucks, forgot about it. Would of been a great pitch.

No point with making benchmarks. First off public releases havent had any fancy graphic options settings and as for the benchmark, for that all they have to do is try the game on 8+ year old rig with low specs and it will be no brainer that anything above will work.  Dont know about latest builds but from previous public tests it worked just fine on 512MB opengl 4.0 GPU, so the question is if it will work with GPU's  with opengl 3.x and below. For example Intel Extreme Graphics 2 had problems like no textures

As for minimum ammount of ram well it all depends how much stuff people are running in the background, some have <2GB, others more, but in the end if someone has at least 1GB or more free RAM (not counting in use by system) it should be ok.

Also the big factor is ammount of people around you since this IS a MMO after all. The more people around you (on your screen) the higher the demand. So in the end a benchmark would not be of much use. As for minimum specs, if there will be anything mentioned, it will still be dependant by the people near you.

What about tabs for color wheels? It will save a lot of vertical space, when using multicolored manes.
Or even better, use this scheme:
[Prev.ManeColor arrow]Mane Color Title [Next.ManeColor arrow]
[Rect.Filled with selected color]
If you click on a rectangle, color wheel pops up.

Bad idea.

First of all.

That Character creator is just so people have something to do. And it is a fixed size. In the game people will be playing in 720p or up. There will be room.

Second did you ever watched other people uploading their play? Besides complaining about night and hard to see chat txt color over similar background IN character creator they dont notice things like having a scrollbar to change other options and you want to change color picker to a popup buton?

BTW, when I reopen my browser I need to start over. Is this because of google's incognito windows?

It does not save on servers. You need to "Export" and save the code on your end. Then when you come back later you "Import" and paste the code you saved.
56
Looks like the scrollbar for horn/wing size does not work for the "wings". For horn it seems to work.

Mobile Intel (R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express chipset family will work on my laptop. So I need that on my sister's computer. Only I need to do prnt scrn or else I get the blue screen of death using F12.

Your GPU might not work when the game gets bigger.

Also if i'm not wrong rour max ammount of GPU memory is 128, also it's OpenGL 1.4 only
58
How about writing down RGB values? Or taking a screenshot?
59
It might be something like for the purpose of the tutorial you are told to find a pony that is a "Master" of something. (Of what is up to you)

They would be scattered all around the world and they give you quest to do. When finished and returned to them you get your cutie mark/talent.

As for 2nd and 3rd cutie mark well they could be abaible from higher levels.

We are still in pre-alpha (not even alpha yet) but
You will be able to layer 3 different cutie marks to have your own cutie mark
there will be more options for both mares and stallions when the game gets closer to being done

so dont worry those two things are already been planned for

If they are going to be layered like they are now, only the "top" will be visible since they share same UV space.

In this case it will be better to set on the (current character screen) only one cutie mark and on the "next screen" have a screen that will let you customize 2nd and 3rd along with description what each cutie mark gives (along with the "main")  and any traints/skills that might be able to pick from

Unless they will be like Cutie Pox but for that they will need to have 3 area's specified per side

Intel(R)82865g Graphics Controller. Will that work or not?

Did you play pre-alpha and did it worked for you? If yes then there may be hope for you and it is just the issue with unity's web player. If not then you should play when it will be avaible again to see if you dont have same issue. If you do, update your GPU drivers (latest is 14.17). If it does not solve your issue then get new GPU since your's is very old (you can use on that motherboard one AGP x8 GPU(check manual to be sure))
