Talent: Is pretty good at painting

Personality: Ivy is a very boring, dark, pony. She hates anything colorful. Ivy is a very quiet hermit who lives near the everfree, but is still in ponyville, as she could not survive in the dangerous forest. She occasional visits just to look around, before trotting back out.

Ivy Shade always lived in pony ville. She was a very lonely filly, even though she desperate wanted friends. Her parents were always to busy working to notice that she didn't have friends. All the fillies and colts had their cutie marks, so she never truly got a friend and was always picked on. She began to paint pictures, describing her sadness and she became quite good at it. She occasionally played instruments such as violin, but painting was by far her favorite. She soon grew up and never got her cutie mark, adding to her sadness even more.

Likes: Flying Fast, Dark, Wind

Dislikes: Losing, Being bored.

Cutie Mark: A moon with a lightning bolt coming out

Talent: Flying fast at night. (The bright sun hurts her eyes and she has good vision in the night. She's fast either way  ))

Personality: Night can be very brave but will likely abandon her friends. She loves flying at top speeds and is a huge fan of Rainbow Dash, like Scootaloo. She would do anything to join the wonderbolts. Night is very good at keeping secrets and can almost wipe the face of guilt off of her, though she may give up soon.

Night bolt, as a filly, lived in cloudsdale. She was overly pampered and wore a huge bow in her hair, even though she was boyish. She constantly had to wear dresses and makeup, to her dismay. One day, when a huge pegasus race happened at night, she won it while the others were either to slow or crashed into trees. She earned her cutie mark. She moved to ponyville when she grew up and never wore a dress again.

They're quite interesting characters, I will say here. I don't understand why Ivy hasn't got a cutie mark in painting yet, though. Anyways.

Why was Ivy so lonely? Was she an introvert, shy to talk to others? Is that why she has no friends?
What happened to her parents? If they were still alive at that time, what did they do to try and help Ivy get friends?
I feel like her backstory could be expanded more on, but I can't think of anything at the moment.

Next, Night Bolt. Why is her talent "Flying fast at night"? What difference does it make when she flies in the night and in the day? Please explain 
Why did she constantly have to wear dresses, make up, bows, etc? What kind of family was she in?
How did she persuade her parents so that she could move to Ponyville?

They're quite unique though, as I've said before

She is better at flying fast at night because she can see in the night better and the day can hurt her eyes a bit. Also, she had to wear bows because she was in a rich family who wanted her to be a girly girl.

Ivy's parents didn't care that she didn't have friends. They personally didn't like her and were always to busy woprking to take proper care of her.

If her parents were working to take care of Ivy, then they DO care for her, and could not "didn't like her". If they care for her, they care about her wellbeing. Although it's also a possibility they had no idea she didn't have any friends, considering that they're working all the time. You could add that into the backstory.

Ability to see doesn't really affect the speed you can fly, but it affects your handling. It's just that she would have to go slower to avoid bumping into things when the sun is hurting her eyes and she can't see much, right? You could add that into the talent in brackets, explaining why she can only fly fast at night.

Still, I really like the ideas
