Okay, other than some of the big names, (browsing for Sonic art is what lead me to ponies in the first place,) my favorite video game characters are:

Klonoa (He has one of the saddest endings in all video game history. Ever. And that includes the death of Aerith.)

NiGHTS (I love him... her? I think they made Nights no gender so it wouldn't feel so weird when the kids dualized with... him. Yeah, they call NiGHTS a him, but that's just because calling him an 'it' just feels impersonal. Anywhoo, I love NiGHTS smooth, graceful flight, and I really love the beautifully bizarre world of Nightopia. And besides, NiGHTS is kind of like the Sonic of the skies, with some close similarities in personality. Also, I love when he plays that invisible flute.)

Prince Pixel (The main hero of Graffiti Kingdom, which has nothing to do with public defacement. It's a game where you can draw your own characters in a colorful, fun 3D world and give them all sorts of combat moves and superpowers, and is possibly my favorite lighthearted game ever. Anyhoo, Prince Pixel is pretty funny in the game. I would explain, but you really have to play to get the full impact. The short of it? Think Spike's snark with Pinkie Pie's attention span and a little bit of Scootaloo thrown in for good measure.)

Pastel (Prince Pixel's adorable little sidekick. She's really a young girl, but she usually takes the form of a cute little box-dog... thing.)

The Devil (No, I am not a cult member. I'm talking about the main villain from Graffiti Kingdom. He's kind of like Discord in many ways, including his sense of decorating style, and is among my top 5 favorite villains ever, along with Discord and Dr. Eggman. Also, as he claims towards the end of the game, he's not that evil.)

Okay, considering that Minecraft is one of my all-time favorite games,I thought I should discuss it. Also I am always on the lookout for cool new mods, since my attention span is kind of like Pinkie Pie's and I need los of content to keep my attention. :D
Anyhoo, since I have been working on an MLP resourcepack (128-128 with photorealistic textures, but still keeping the classic MLP appearance,) I have been thinking how we could use some more pony mods for Minecraft.

So the question is twofold:

What are your favorite Minecraft mods, and what do they do?

If you could make a mod to add MLP content into Minecraft, what would it be?

Keep in mind that pony models and pony racial traits are both available in mods, so try and come up with something other than those.

Some of my favorite mods include:

The Twilight Forest (another dimension with some of the most amazing structures and mobs, not to mention scenery. Bosses galore, special treasures and weapons that you can only find in dungeons, and an entirely new eries of dangers for those of you who feel like you want more of a challenge.)

Biomes-O-Plenty (Seriously, if you use mods, you at least know of this mod. Over 80 new biomes means you never get bored of looking at the scenery. And besides, it has an Orchard biome! :] Sure, Better Biomes changes rock types, and that is totally awesome, but BoP has cooler biomes, in my opinion.)

Ars Magica 2 (Crafting your own custom spells? It's every unicorn's dream!)

Elemental Creepers (Keeping your enemy list fresh, this mod sticks in lots of awesome new creepers! Cookie creepers which explode harmlessly into cookies, topsy-turvy creepers which completely flip their surroundings upside-down, and the dreaded hydrogen creeper, which is sort of like a creeper nuke.)

Pam's Harvestcraft (Over a hundred different delicious dishes you can cook! Also, with my resource pack, I use photos of real food, making the entire mod seem deliciously wonderful!)

Geostrata (All the new rock types and patterns they can be crafted into can be a bit annoying for you, but if you take the time to make a resource pack for them, [or if I ever finish mine,] then you have so many awesome new designs to add to your structures!)

Dooglamoo's Painter Mod (Or something like that. I know the guy's name is Dooglamoo. Anywhoo, this mod enables you to paint all types of amazing wallpaper designs. Goodbye boring wood walls, hello colorful decor!)

Witchery (Making potions is such fun! And besides, it's cool to see something which works using rituals and odd, quirky methods instead of simple craft item-use item style mods.)

There are more, but I don't want to bore you. Just go browsing! And leave some ideas for the rest of us!

Okay, this has been on my mind for a while, and I just want to ask everypony what they think. We all have our own favorite villains, but which villain do you honestly think is the scariest? After all, we have:

Nightmare Moon: Brings everlasting night. And she can hunt you even in your dreams.

Discord: He can corrupt your spirit, turn your entire world upside down, and pretty much do anything he likes to you. The only thing keeping him from doing anything truly harmful is his childish whimsy... which could change at any moment.

Queen Chrysalis: She can be anyone... even your dearest loved ones. And she is not alone. There are many more like her.

King Sombra: An incorporeal, eldrich presence who can send you to a world of your greatest fears and insecurities.

Sunset Shimmer: A demon lurks behind that smug smile, and she can turn people into her personal zombie slaves. She has great power... but not the wisdom on how to reign it in.

The Everfree Forest It can be anywhere... perhaps right beneath your hooves. (Remember how it attacked even in Canterlot?) And there isn't a single mind. You'r fighting an entire environment... which could return if even the smallest seed is left.

Tirek: He can steal everything that makes you powerful... and everything that makes you special. (He steals Cutie Marks too, remember?)

Oh, and I know Luna, Sunset, and Discord are reformed. I'm referring to the time that they weren't.

So, post your thoughts! Who is the scariest MLP villain? :I

Favorite boss theme? Well, there's this:

Makes you feel heroic, like you're going super, too. B)

and this,

Even the haters can't deny the Sonic 2006 game had good music. Well, the sensible ones.

And one cannot deny the wonderful music of Kingdom Hearts:

Now if Utada Hikaru could only do a vocal song for some big final boss fight. Sanctuary is the first thing I heard when I ever played a Kindom Hearts game, and it was so beautiful and touching that that is what really made me get into the entire series.

I don't play a lot of Pokemon, but I would have to say my two favorites are Trubbish and Chandeleur (however you spell it; I only ever saw one, never collected one.)

Trubbish has a sort of goofy cuteness to him, and I like the whole garbage theme. ^-^

And Chandeleur (again, however you spell it,)  is just cool. It's like a Heartless form Kingdom Hearts. How awesome is that? :3

Okay, here's another thread that tempts my cynical side yet again. Okay, let's see. The most annoying things in video games are...

#1. Those Darn Creepers! You just built something really nice. Out of rare materials. Then you turn around to see what the uninitiated might think of as a sad-faced, cuboid green giraffe. But to anypony who plays Minecraft, you know that all your hard work is about to get blown to bits. Sssss... BOOM!  >:O No enemy in Minecraft is more annoying to me. Not Blazes, not Wither Skeletons, and not Endermen. Creepers.

#2. When lag makes you lose. You have the skill. You have the power. You have the levels. You have all the right armor and potions and weapons. And you lose because the game freezes up for about five seconds, and when it comes back your enemy has whaled on you a bunch of times which you could have easily avoided... if not for that dumb lag. (This also includes when you're in game, and you die or have to restart because of a stupid glitch. DD: )

#3. Cheap movie games. Just because you liked a movie doesn't mean that the game is going to be good. In fact, they're usually lousy cookie-cutters. Attack enemies, collect money to unlock unwanted commentaries, use special attacks, break other people's crates and furniture to find more money in hopes that you can unlock something mildly interesting, and go through missions which really feel more like a long hallway than an environment.
Of course, this isn't true of all movie games. The Spider-man games are usually awesome even by normal game standards, and there are a few other gems. But when I played the video game of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, I was almost laughing at how far they strayed from the movie. And this is a story I have cherished since childhood. Lucy beating up creatures and riding them? Random coins lying about? Urgh. :s

Thanks, everypony. I found out how to edit the mod resources and such from a Minecraft site, but I'm thankful for your help anyhoo. I'll put you is special thanks! :)

And everypony else need not comment. My dilemma is solved. ^-^

Okay, I was wondering if anypony could help me. See, I'm working on a photo-realistic MLP resource pack for Minecraft. (No worries, I base them off of show vectors, so they still look like the ponies we all know and love, just with more detailed hair and fur.)

Problem is, I only know how to write over a premade resource pack, and I want this pack to be compatible with some of the mods I use. (I use the Magic World 2 mod pack, and I want to change the textures of some of the textures for some of the mods like Biomes O' Plenty and Natura.

So the question is, how does one create a resource pack for mods when the source files are jar files and can't be opened? (Keep in mind I have no special programs or programming knowledge.) I want to create resources for Biomes O' Plenty, Natura, Twilight Forest, and Better Storage, among others. The mod pack is on the Feed the Beast website, in case that helps.

Anypony who offers any advice I end up using will be put into the credits of my resource pack as a thank-you. ^-^

Okay, I don't play horror games, (I don't like all the violence, otherwise I would probably love them,) but I don't think you need to play a horror game to beat some of the freakishly creepy stuff in some of these games. Stuff like....

Spiders(Uncharted: Drake's Deception): Those things were kind of panic-educing. Doesn't help that I'm not a big fan of spiders in the first place.  DD:

Ghouls(Ico) The ghouls were truly haunting. Not openly terrifying, but perhaps all the more eerie for that. They don't really make noise, there's just this eerie, slightly musical noise in the air when they are present. >.<

And one of my favorites, (or most feared,)...

Mimi(Super Paper Mario: Luna preserve us. That thing was in a an E-10+ game? She struck me as some sort of cartoon version of something that would be more at home in Silent Hill. When she first transformed, I specifically remember thinking how unusually creepy that was for a Mario game. D:

What I see is a lot of ponies and such not recognizing Twilight's authority at first because she hasn't been around for a thousand years or so, and she'll have to prove herself to them. Even though she's already saved the world, like, a dozen times already. Because that's just how these ponies seem to be. :l

On another note, I too like how they eased Twilight into her role as Princess. However, (and I think the entire community agrees with me on this,) even though it's pretty awesome that she has her own palace now, the loss of her old home was simply traumatic. ono I think that little stunt will officially make Tirek the most hated MLP villain, even if he is really awesome.

Still, I like the new council chamber with the six seats. It could look very cinematic for when the ponies are discussing how to face various threats and stuff.
11
Yeah, I caught that. It's subtle enough so that it doesn't seem to be openly saying, "Look! Time Turner is the Doctor!", and it could totally fit into the show canon, (maybe they were just coming back from a 3D movie,) but the reference is nonetheless obvious, but a lot more tasteful than those blatant, give-Time-Turner-a-Sonic-Screwdriver references in the comics. It's not saying that Time Turner is the Doctor; it's just putting him in a rather coincidental view. It's easy to catch, yet both characters are natural inhabitants of Ponyville from Season 1, so it makes it all the more tasteful and subtle.

Unless the BBC Network does a deal with Hasbro, I think Dr. Hooves will remain little more than an inside joke, but it's a fun inside joke nevertheless. And let's face it, most of the ponies are probably trying to keep BBC and Hasbro making a deal together. Who would want Daleks and Cybermen in Equestria?

On the other hoof, there would be absolutely no debate on which incarnation of the Doctor was the best....

(: "Speak for yourself. *Sigh* Still not Ginger. How I envy miss Carrot Top.

I think it is their Christmas-counter part, but with them all being from another world at this point, it has had a lot of changes that make it much different from our Christmas.

Yeah. Considering how drastically different our histories are, I would agree. Also, I think Hasbro wanted to have a winter holiday, but without picking one specific holiday over the others, or having everybody celebrate unity and friendship by celebrating different holidays in their own little cliques. (Sorry, but I find the whole Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa thing to be kind of divisive at a time when we are supposed to be celebrating unity. I mean, Christmas has pretty much ceased being a religious holiday in most of the world's eyes, so why can't we at least use it to celebrate unity and camaraderie? Anyhoo, I have a solution. CELEBRATE ALL THE HOLIDAYS!!!)

...Ooh. Go a bit off-topic there. X3 But yeah, Hearth's Warming does seem very Christmassy in many ways.

It's never to late to join the herd. Hey, I became a huge fan of Danny Phantom years after the show stopped being a thing. And the old Sonic the Hedgehog SatAM cartoons are another favorite of mine, even though they went out long ago.

The only problem with being a late brony is that you have less time to enjoy the series before it ends. D: But that's okay. Because you can always go back and watch it again!
14
She also says they've had an Apple Family Reunion every hundred or so years. And she's in every one. So either Equestrian ponies live far longer than humans, or Granny Smith has access to the golden Apples of Youth from Norse Mythology, and they just are taking a while to take effect.
15
She's at least a thousand years old. I can't think of any board of representatives that could even come close to matching her knowledge and wisdom with that kind of experience. No offense, but who would have the audacity to assume that they, with their thirty-some years experience, have the right to tell a millennia-old being what to do? Not that I don't think Celestia listens to her subjects. I assume she listens to her subjects equally, and judges fairly based upon that. But to have them instruct her would be like having a ten-year-old telling the President what to do. Even if it's a big group of ten-year-olds, and even if they have some good points, they aren't really qualified to do so. It's like when a little kid thinks its unfair that his parents tell him what to do, like making him eat his vegetables, but when he grows up, he realizes that they were making decisions that would protect him from far less pleasant things, like malnutrition.

Also, we have never seen Celestia punish anypony harshly unless there was no alternative. Banishing Luna was not to punish her sister, but to protect her subjects from what her sister had become, and she seemed quite distressed that she had to do so. The same mentality applies for Discord. Turning him to stone was pretty much the only way to reign in his nearly-omnipotent powers and protect her subjects. (It's not like she could just lock him in jail.) And considering that Tartarus exists as a prison for the wicked and powerful villains of Equestria, like Tirek, and Celestia didn't even put Discord in there, I would say she's pretty lenient.

As for Twilight and Fluttershy's fears, well, they both tend to be a bit paranoid. And besides, look at what ponies have gotten away with. Celestia didn't stop Trixie from leaving Ponyville after the Alicorn Amulet incident, even though the solar sovereign was present at the time during the ceremonies. She didn't judge Fluttershy for stealing her pet, nor Rarity for sending the whole town into stylish chaos with dark magic, nor Twilight Sparkle for performing a spell which entranced most of Ponyville and nearly caused a terrible fracas. (Although she was still quite stern with Twilight, she could have done far worse. Twilight got off from that with little more than a scolding.)

Besides, what everypony seems to overlook is that Luna seems to be the strict one. Cancelling a holiday simply because her subjects are fearful of her? Granted, he whole "Nightmare Moon" thing is a very sore subject for her, so we can't blame her for feeling bothered by an entire holiday based off of her greatest mistake, but still, why is Celestia always painted as the stern dictator, when Luna is the more austere of the two?

Also, I don't think the Equestrian government was quite complete after Luna was banished. The two sisters ruled in a diarchy, Luna's more firm side tempering out Celestia's more lenient side, and vice versa, to ensure that both justice and mercy reigned. Celestia never intended to rule alone. That situation was forced upon her when she was forced to choose between the safety of her subjects and her love for her sister.

And anyways, I agree with Midnight Breeze. Punishing the wicked is justice, not tyranny. And Celestia's been pretty merciful to date.

On a final note, freedom does not mean being free to do whatever you want. That's anarchy. That's chaos. And while one particular inhabitant of Equestria might enjoy such bedlam, I highly doubt anypony else would. If you coddle criminals, then you are still under a dictatorship, only ruled by the criminals instead of the government. As in most things in life, balance is needed, both justice and mercy. We have rules for a reason, not to squelch down freedom, but to keep people from abusing that freedom and hurting themselves or others in the process. Being free to hurt others means that you are taking their freedom from them and forcing your will upon them, be you a king or a robber.
So in other words, just because somepony won't let you jump off a cliff doesn't mean they're squelching your freedom. It means they're looking out for your best interests, because you haven't learned fully yet how to pursue them yourself. They watch after you because you don't know how to watch after yourself fully yet. Because that's love. And love is what any good ruler has for their subjects.

You'll Play Your Part, and Apples Forever, because both included characters who really needed more songs. Plus, Apples Forever is one of the most catchy tunes to date, and You'll Play Your Part had some of the best vocals to date. Plus, I was just so excited to see Celestia sing again.

I have to say, I'm surprised You'll Play Your Part wasn't more popular, if for no other reason than that we hear Luna sing for the first time. I thought Luna won every poll! It seems that here on LoE at least, even the princess of the night's appearance could not trump the power of the pony who's episode is most lauded for its songs.  :D

Cupcakes. Cupcakes have frosting. Creamy, creamy frosting.... :D

Still, muffins have their place. (I make a mean apple muffin.) :] :P

Mean people, insecure people, and bullies will always try to find a way to criticize others. Throughout the ages, violence and cruelty have been lauded by such people s a sign of strength, while kindness, innocence, and love have been regarded as weak. (Most likely such people who criticize these things have an underlying jealousy, as their minds are filled with anger and sadness, and they continue to feed those though their pursuits.)

It's not just "ponies are for girls". It is the mentality of humanity as a whole. Ponies are sweet and kind, and encourage such behavior. Sadly, there will always be people who, for some sad, inexplicable reason, seem to hate the sweet and lovable, and perhaps even secretly fear it, for it reminds them of how unkind they are and how bleak the world they have made for themselves is.

But on the bright side, bronies seem to really be spreading. Apparently a lot of people are getting tired of the bleak, the cruel, and the violent, and are just unafraid to admit that they want a little happiness, sweetness, and love in their lives.

I would probably be Honesty. :] For all my bad traits, I am honest, if nothing else. Not to mention I'm as bad a liar as Applejack. o_o

Were I to choose an Element to best describe me... perhaps Element of Hope. Despite often being rather negative, I do hold a very strong sense of hope in my heart. (I know because if I hadn't, I would have given up long ago with all the stuff I went through last year and the year before.)
Sadly, despite my hopes, I have not yet been asked to join the Blue Lantern Corps. Drat. >:/

Hmmm... I would have to say I have that the government is its own unique thing. It's kind of a diarchy, not a common type of government. And while lesser nobles seem to be put in place, (I can only assume by bloodline, as I can't honestly see anypony voting for Prince Blueblood,) in a fashin similar to the British monarchy, the "high princesses", those who are put in positions of highest power, are alicorns, a state which, by all show canon to date, is something that is earned through virtue and a deep understanding of the power of love and friendship. (To stem the inevitable alicorn debates, Lauren Faust claimed this herself, as well as the other show writers. I could debate the matter further, but that's not what this post is about, so please don't debate it here.)
Regardless, the title of "high princess", (one who is an alicorn,) is one that is earned. Whatever forces determine the ascension of a princess are the guiding force, adding a touch of theocracy to the mix. So as for government, I would say that Equestria seems to have its own thing going, although it does lean more strongly on European monarchies.

Culture is, from what we have seen so far, widely dominated by a mix of European for the unicorns, (largely English, but with a great deal of French, along with some Russian, German, and smatterings of numerous other European countries,) American for the earth ponies, and Greco-Roman for the pegasi. I can't really say which culture is the more dominant, but they appear to have an equal balance so far.

Geographically, it.... er, actually, I stink at geography. But taking a look at the climate, it seems rather European. Or maybe Middle Earth. :D And most of the indigenous mythical creatures seem to be of Greco-Roman origin, so I suppose that must be taken into account.

My final conclusion is that Equestria is... well, it's kind of it's own thing. Not entirely English, not entirely American, not entirely Greco-Roman, but a balanced mixture of the three.
