The Open Server Weekend has ended and the servers are now closed.

We hope you all enjoyed playing our game! We all had a lot of fun and learned a lot from you that will come in useful for future updates!

This week-end was great ! I really enjoyed to discover the Crystal kingdom and the Olympic Stadium. The new version of ponyville is very good too ! And congratulations to the team for been able to resolve the servers problem we encountered in the first hours.

Hey guys, it was a great OSW. I even made it to the shutdown this time. I have to say that I especially liked the Book Horse attack in the end. Good times. Anyway, hope to see you all on the next OSW (I'm Shoking Realitee).

It was quite an enjoyable experience, I hope we can get more open server weekends in the future.  I am very eager to see how this project develops.

It was incredible!

Had a little problem in the beginning, but in the end, everything went pretty well. One big notice is that there isn't much of server disconnections like before, so that is excellent for the team. I like the inclusion of the Crystal Empire. It looks beautiful.

Had an amazing adventure, played with my friends, and for sure the first-timers had a great deal of fun this weekend. Can't wait for the next OSW to come around the corner.

Ya guys are doing good. Just keep it up and continue to improve the game and our fun. Always have surprises.

little sad I was around and didnt get on the closing i missed by 20 mins though im central time been nice if it didnt close an hour early my time which was only 11 I wanted to be there hope more updates can come and testing can open sooner and Im hoping for the time when its all finished and stable to finally pass testing and go live as I loved playing hide and seek with scoots and snowdrop and talking to derpy. Now I have friends here. bonded friendship is the one that brought me here months ago

O my goodness...I had the time of my life!  :D

Day 1: Cloudopolis Screenshots.
Day 2: Intercity exploration, plus my first real role-playing session in Cloudopolis.
Day 3: End of the world (servers) party at the Crystal Kingdom!

I've been following this project for nearly a year, and it has improved quite a bit. I took over 100 screenshots, and made some friends along the way. Even in it's early state, this game is truly a work of art! Thank you to all the team members and other players for giving me a great time. And with that, I'll be waiting for next time!  ^-^

It was a lot of fun! I very much enjoyed the revamped Ponyville as well as the Crystal Empire!  ;)

Zoning issues became non-existent.

I had the best time of my life. I met Golden gates,StormFX3,Littleshy an the real fluffle. When the servers ended i srsly Started to cry  >A<   i miss u everypony and hope to see you soon *hugs everyone*  <3

Had everything from DDos, major network issues, ghost ponys, pony taking over other ponys during log in, even Fluffle Puff rage quit when the clone fluffle army showed up.

first osw ever and all I can say it was a rollercoaster of emotions for me, hopefully something better comes my way in the future ^-^

Here are my 5cents about this oswe:
Apart from the DDoS attack day1 was unplayable until you decided to add 2 more server.
On day2 the new instance manager bugged out most of the time.
Day3 was finally playable, but I still kept loosing sight of friends when changing mpas, e.g. entering buildings. I also kept being pushed around between instances every 15minutes or so which often resulted in skill hotkeys breaking and forced me to restart the client.

I see no point in this instancing. You'll need at least one server per continent anyway, so just make more server and scrap instancing. I spent most of my time keeping the group together by telling others in skype and steam

There is something I'd like to comment on, though...

The quests. Specifically, Midnight Breeze's missing package quest. It's really... Long.

I understand you want it to be something that you have to work for, but come on. You have to go back and forth between areas at least twenty times. It took me an hour to finish it even though I knew the locations of most of the NPCs mentioned in the quest.

Also, the quest seems very... Hatred-based. It's like we're meant to hate characters like Astral and Pyrite <xD


Apart from that frustrating quest, I had a lot of fun during this OSW. And the DDOS protection added in after this is neat, too!

Let's see, how my first 3 days in Legends of Equestria came out...

Positives:
-Being a Pegasus
-Screenshots
-My first friend in LoE
-My first pet gifted to me whilst I was away from the keyboard, THX whoever (probably Momo Minty?).
-Fighting Monsters, even with teamwork (JUST LIKE IN THE LoE Trailers).
-NPC's
-The many locations across Equestria.
-Golden Oaks Library (True it may have been incinerated by Lord Tirek, but sure is nice to bring it back).
-90-100% Accurate location designs based off Friendship Is Magic.
-Respawns from faints or from off-bound terrain (I'M TALKING TO YOU, CLOUDSDALE).

Neutral:
-Location names throughout Equestria (Not being based off the TV show, I can see why these names were altered, but I still prefer them by their TV show counterparts.) However, where's Heartland in Friendship Is Magic...?
-Golden Oaks Library (gotta keep with the times that the library was incinerated by Tirek & was replaced by Twilight's Rainbow Castle)
-No Crystal Heart in the Crystal Empire (Crystal Kingdom) o.O, but then again, the MMO chronologically sets after the events of Season 2 (leading up to the concurrent stories in Ideas & Design Work's Friendship Is Magic & or Penstorke's Past Sins), therefore the Crystal Heart was still not retrieved yet. However, how the Crystal Empire is still in the MMO & not hidden away before it's time of revival was the fact of (from Tiger of LoE Forums), "Well, the point in time when they mentioned that it was around Season 2 was quite a long time ago, before the Crystal Kingdom was even confirmed yet. I'm not sure if they've changed the timeline since then or something." Some potential plot-holes could be noticed from how this continuity works...

Negative:
-Buggy Chat (with brief time to read what everypony else are saying)
-Inventory Interface (a full inventory notice would've been nice; if somepony hands you a quest item, you either unable to take it or misplace & never get it back.)  >A<
-Failing to complete a quest for the 3 day period. DD:
-Lags
-Stalling, Delays, Connection Timeouts / Probably also Distributed-Denial-of-Service
-Unresponsive NPC's
-How the Trading Interface works.
-Day 1 kept me mostly in Cloudsdale (Cloudopolis). ovO
-Day 2 with constant war with opening to a open server stallings. >:O
-Day 3 with failing to finish 2 unfinished quests (I'd like a do-over please on all unfinished quests, especially the Midnight Breeze Quest). D:
-Fainting from powerful enemies (THAT CAN HAPPEN TO ANYPONY, I just hated to lose to such monsters.)
-More locations that should've been explored (Mines, more of Everfree/Evershade, Appleoosa, Golden Oaks, etc.) :I
-No Customizable Cutie Mark Interface / Import your Cutie Mark from you Computer.
-More Mane styles please?

I can say is that there were more bad than good, but it was nice to join the herd in many places across Equestria. Let there be more improvements on the next open server, ESPECIALLY LESS CONNECTION TIMEOUTS PLEASE, so it doesn't bomb like SimCity 2013 (I never played that one, but never will...). There were some charming people, whether NPC's or real people, graphics may be leaving much to be desired, however it looks simple, vibrant, & luscious (like it's supposed to). Though 'tis still on many update improvements.

On that note, I give my first 3-Day Period a D+ out 100. Sorry (if the game wasn't bombarding me with constant timeouts, I would've raised the grade rank up to a C-), though the full version should be a much better experience in the future...

It appears I'm not the only one who participated in the Midnight Breeze Quest. This was my first quest I'd ever participate in, don't you know...?!

I too hated such a long quest, because yet I wasn't able to finish it within the 3-Day period. >A<

Word of Advice: Keep your Inventory clean for Quest Items. I MISPLACED HER VIOLIN & I WASN'T ABLE TO GET IT BACK, DUE TO FULL INVENTORY!! D:

Do-Over Please?

Ok I did have fun with the open server weekend but I did notice 2 things:

1 Someone did not want us to have fun >:/ (DDOS)
2 My computer could not process the real big areas like cloudopolis or ponydale and such very well (lagged badly) but little areas like the library and sugarcane corner did fine.
Other than that I did have fun and got to meet up with some friends and made some as well :D(sorry to those of you I could not find). The last thing I have to say is great job with the new ponydale and crystal kingdom they looked great I got lost at first in ponydale.

Pure awesomeness, I don't know where to start...

Ok, first off I'd like to send a huge thank-you to all the developers

I greatly appreciate the fact that dedicated servers cost money, and that the game is completely free <3 <3 (I cant emphasise how much I mean this)

The game was awesome in every way, beautiful scenery, great sound affects, good humour, the design team and everyone involved in the development really nailed it, despite being volunteers

The moderators, who managed to filter out (the already minimal) infringements, while at the same time being nice to each and every pony, best moderators ever  0:)

Those involved in countering the DDoS attack, did amazingly and managed to save the OSW from the current and upcoming attacks, seriously, well done!

Those who struggled to play during the OSW may have sent complaints, and its easy to be discouraged by this, they fail to see the problems that you had to face, but, the fact that they sent complaints goes to show how much they wanted to play this awesomeness, use that as encouragement instead!

I would also like to thank the entire community, each and everypony was kind to each other, had a good sense of humour and was generally maintaining the great atmosphere the game provided, I hope to see you all again! I miss the game and all (with the exception of the only hater I saw) who played.

They've stated that they won't do that because they've already gone through all the trouble of modeling Twilight's library. It would be a waste if they were to remove it and put the castle in its place. It would also be rather frustrating to keep changing the game just so that it's canon to the present as there are bound to be way more changes to come. If they were to comply to all those changes, the game would take forever to finish.

I think they said something about LoE's time line taking place at the end of Season 2 or something.

Aw, I never got to play. The servers were wonky, and I kept getting 503 errors while trying to download the software. By the time I had everything downloaded and ready, it was already over. I hope you guys do it again soon. :(

Me neither. Did you happen to have a full inventory? If so, then you're unable to carry anymore items, even quest items & you can't re-obtain some back, so 'tis possible that you are stuck, like me!

(: I see, plus Golden Oak was quite memorable since FiM's 4 Seasons. After Season 2, you say? Sounds like another should-be canon series, alongside Past Sins. IDW after Season 2 is highly canon, so both Past Sins & Legends of Equestria should be concurrently canon. 8D

I played a online game first time ever. And meet a other estonian too :)
What i doing there? Just walk around and discover the world. If i discovered how to beat monsters and earn money, then i like the game more.

And most important task was: spy the Ponyville arhcitecture. I got many screenshots and now i have material for long time to build the Ponyville houses for my Model railway layout. And first goal was screenshots of Library's hidden side, Library with 2 huts around her must be complete and placed on layout for Estonian Model Exhibition "Minimaailm" (Miniature World) for May 2015.

I havn't played it before, so one small thing I couldn't get working was attacking mobs in the mines. Don't know if that was me not knowing how to or just the game lacking, but now you know  ;)

But I loved exploring the new Ponydale, and the Crystal Kingdom was hardly laggy at all! and the buildings were sooo shiny!

I even got to see several ponies that I recognized from youtube :3 I should have taken more screen shots of them!

That was really amazing :D I had a lot of fun exploring every towns and I even met a lots of pony friends wich I hanged out a lot (Flashing Light, Fourth Dimension, Shred Storm and other great dudes ^^)

I just can't wait to get another OSW :D That was so amazing

Anyway, there's some negatives points with the trade system, some quests are glitched and a lot of timed out disconnect :/ but that wasn't dramatic so far ^^

Probably the most enjoyable experience i had in years.
Im an adult stallion with some summers at my back in real life, this game, without levels, without a way to "be stronger" just with the objetive to have fun and enjoy... i don't have words to express how i've enjoyed the two days here, and i really hope it come back soon, i'll expect it.

i only ask this because i just downloaded the game and i didnt get a chance to play the game!  : DD:

kind of a bummer if you ack me but i would just like to know when the severs would back.....

I had so much fun! :D I got to play for a few hours before i had to go to bed. The crystal empire was my favorite addition, it was so beautiful, and the stadium was plain awesome. One problem that i had was sugar cane corner.  O: It crashed my game every time i went in to buy a cupcake or something. I ended up getting two ponies stuck in there. Just a nitpick though. This OSW amazed me and i can't wait for the next one!

i had a blast! even though i think i accidentally broke the emote system near the end where they just ended up not working at all no matter what i did. the pickaxe quest with klondike never was able to finish, because everytime i tried to give him the pickaxe, he wouldnt take it. i know the game is still a work in progress and i love what you did so far, keep up the good work!  ^-^

I had a lot of fun with this open server weekend. Since I played a unicorn during the last OSW, this time around I tried out a pegasus and an Earth pony. Both were fun, but I felt like I was cheating when playing my pegasus since she could fly. I explored around a lot more this time. I really liked the Crystal Kingdom, although the one negative was that the crystal heart was absent. I took a lot of screenshots and even recorded some video with Fraps this time around.

I am eager to see what the future of this game holds once you get all the bugs worked out.

Well ok at least ya'll know that my outburst is out of the fact that this was indeed an enjoyable experience for me though I did have my frustrations with the game. Like going to NPC's like I was supposed to on a mission and they don't talk back to me for some odd reason therego I couldn't complete the task or other tasks attatched to it, and there were issues when my action buttons like "waving" or "sitting" would just stop working.

But I know this is a game in developement and the whole point to these severs is for us to give you the proper feedback! So there's my feedback, it's buggy but I still had tons of fun with it and look forward to your next opening!

Wow! I gotta say that was the BEST week I've ever played! Can any staff member tell me when the next server weekend is on? Also, I'm doing this quest to get a pet rabbit from a pony named Frizzy in PonyDale next to the school so I finished the steps and I came back to him, I clicked "I'm ready for my next lesson!" but he said that he doesn't have the next lesson until the next week is up, so can you add that lesson so I can get a pet rabbit? Thanks! You did a great job LoE! I had fun with my friend Luke and being a pony is the best. Everything went perfectly fine and the server "Levade" is the BEST I swear you have to try it next time I used it ALL the time. Keep up the good work LoE! :3 :D :] <3

i never finished the quest with the packet. There was no end...

But it is a very nice game, nice quests very funny and the style 3D and 2D ponys as quest element is great.

The server will most likely be wiped out, At least it's the most reasonable step considering it's an alpha in a very early state. You won't be able to continue your quest from the point you leaved it, but the good thing is that we'll get more quest (hope so) and less bugs the next weekend (maby some security measures to prevent duping, fixing the trade and i hope they consider to implement an EAC to prevent future .dll injections (because right now it's very easy to manipulate the .dll clien sided with efects server sided) nothing confirmed, just thinking about it, could be good that a moderator confirm something but don't expect nothing this month and stay tunned  as i'll be :D

This has honestly been the best and most fun I've had on a weekend for a long time. The timing for OSW was perfect between my classes so I could play as much as I wanted before it end. It was my first time playing as princess Luna and wont be the last. :luna: after having so many fun roleplays with so many fun loving ponies including one with a stallion celestia and luna  lol

it was awsome! ^-^

I'm hoping to see the friend's I've made again in the next OSW like Agent Valor and a crissy of my own. The best part was at the end to see how much everypony show so much love to the LoE team for giving us a chance to enjoy ourselves so much. Thank you LoE team for what you do and hope to have another OSW soon and hopefully without someone trying to put a downer on our fun  0:)

The best part about it was that most of the problems subsided as the OSW progressed. I was finally able to enter every map on Monday and experience little disruptions.

At the end I cataloged 102 screenshots, it was a good weekend.

i can´t believe my bad luck, yesterday i finally download the game, and today the servers are closed... ovO, my only hope is that the servers get open soon...

It was awesome, I enjoyed most of the Open Server Weekend, even with the DDoS, connection timed out, the lot of lag and room change, and the Fluffle Puff rage quit; but I enjoyed it so much, really. ^-^

I played all the 3 days, made new friends and added in Skype (greetings!) and earned a lot of items and bits (even I dunno why I had a lot of lanterns. O:).

I loved so much the Crystal Kingdom, even the map and the daytime song. Also I was impressed by the Ponydale redesign. You guys are incredible! :D

Just waiting the seventh Open Server Weekend, just try to improve the server security system. I'm uploading a 2 hours and half video of the first day in LoE (I didn't recorded most of the second and third day, about 45 minutes). See ya' in the next OSW! <3

Alas, I never got a chance to play this time around. Only had time to play on Saturday, but my time ended up being wasted on the aerial view waiting queue. I wish I'd known that I was actually in a queue because at the time I just thought the game had broken on me or something. Didn't find out until after the time I had available to play so needless to say I was a bit disappointed.

Really bites too because I really wanted to see all the changes that had been made to the game. To make it worse I'd wanted to try out a unicorn this time around since I've played a pegasus every other OSW I've participated in. Bad choice in retrospect.

I really hope the wait for the next OSW isn't quite as long because I was really looking forward to this one, but the way things went this rates an all time low for me compared to the others. Please note: I'm not including the DDoS attacks because that was something beyond the team's control and not something I will fault them for. It's the other problems I had that I take issue with.

I'm sure someone just forgot to remove the download links.

They only open the servers every few months or so. I'm not expecting something like this to happen again until the May-July range.

does anyone know when the servers will open again? im new here and i cant log in. i played this game before once in the past.

Unfortunately we are not sure. The best chance is to here every so often and check the home page for upcoming Open Server Weekend news.

Well, the point in time when they mentioned that it was around Season 2 was quite a long time ago, before the Crystal Kingdom was even confirmed yet. I'm not sure if they've changed the timeline since then or something.

They were open for a weekend, but that weekend is long gone. No one knows when they will open next.

You should check the forum weekly, the official date will be posted here. i suppose it will take more than a month, plenty of things to fix and implement, im also checking the archives on my own and i have discovered things that they haven't implemented yet but will be implemented (tartarus... appleloosa.. and more things i wont say :D i suppose it's not a secret as everyone can scratch the game code and see it, so i hope nothing is wrong if i say it  0:)
