Maybe I'll get around to downloading again. Maybe. At least my character's still there.

LOTRO always seemed interesting to me, I have yet to give it a try though. Is the game entirely free? As in, you can unlock everything, and do everything, without paying a cent? If that's so, I may have to give it a whirl soon.

yes indeed, you can unlock every single area in the world simply by doing quests and completing deeds.  Just be sure not to waste your "turbine points" on silly things, save them for quest packs, and you can fly through the game without paying a single red cent.  I've gotten all the way to Moria on deeds alone (although I will admit to signing up at the last minute when I got tired of running around to "kill 100 slugs" for tp), and my mounts were from holiday events (though the riding ability took a few exploration deeds).

Everything, minus a few extra inventory spaces, side-quests and the riding ability, is completely free with no deeds necessary all the way up to level 20.  By the time you get there, you should have already finished the deeds in the various locations you're in (killing goblins in Ered Luin, wolves in the shire, orcs in the Lone Lands, etc etc).  And by completing said deeds you'll have earned between five and twenty-five tp per deed.  Mounts and QPs usually take around 100-200 tp, easily done if you work at it.  I'd recommend creating multiple characters and getting a third or fourth character in, just to repeat the deeds and get even more tp for use at your leisure.

Does that mean I can combine the TP from multiple characters all onto one account? That sounds incredibly useful if so.

indeed, all the TP from your characters go to your account, and you can send items and money between characters with the mail system as well, and if you have enough gold you can purchase a house for extra storage when your vault is too full.  I think you get rewards and TP for finishing the housing quest.  It's rediculously easy to make TP just by shooting/stabbing everything in sight as you go along, especially in "wild" areas between towns and stuff.  Also a fast way to level up when you're not questing.

Remember to keep everything you have, no matter how useless it looks, because at the end of your run you can always go to a vendor and sell it.  Yes, they buy EVERYTHING, down to ripped hides and broken blades.  You could also save about fifty of these "useless" items per inventory slot and turn them in for XP if you find a task bulletin board, usually in town centers like Bree or Hobbiton.

The only caveat is that once you pick a server, such as Gladden if you want to join Julius and Ahaut or Withywindel if you want to join me, you're pretty much stuck, and you can't easily transfer anything between servers.

Oh?

Guess I'll create another character just to see your stuff and skills. :P

I'm not really an alt person. I stick to one character and that's it.

I'll be on Withywindel if you're looking for me x3 and since I don't go online all too often anymore (no time) you can PM me here if you want me to show up anywhere for a bit.  I've got a bunch of teleports for getting to wherever you are :P
