Sounds like it could be cool... just keep in mind that as we know almost nothing about gameplay so far, there's a good chance that half of those roles won't be possible or relevant. Even if they are, I imagine most people wouldn't want to limit themselves to a single role.

But like I said, it's cool!

i was just kind of basing it off the whole "warchers of the roads" sort of theme, and trying to think of the mmo equivalent.  I imagine recruits would like to know who's the expert at what and stuff, or who to hide behind if they're being chased by a mob.

If we have those ranks, I wanna be a part of The watch.

Give me the know-it-all of everything. I learn things in MMO's almost instantly. 8D
Could've been something great. But ya' blew it... Ya' blew it.

Popping in to say I love the banner and icon suggestions *-*
Also liking Magnus' rank idea, especially because it won't make anyone feel superior or inferior due to their title. All are different and all are equal (except the Trailmaster, of course ;)).

By the way, i noticed the other herds have ranks and titles and stuff, and i was wondering if we could try implementing them loosely here?

Trailmaster
The Watch
Guides
Scouts
Trailblazers
Trackers
Loremasters
Songmasters
Recruits

In some order?

I do quite enjoy these titles.

But instead of Songmasters - how about Bards? And instead of Loremasters - how about Scholars? Simply because one does not simply become a master at the second rank XD.

Those sound like good titles!  I was just running out of ideas for what to call them.

Well then, if we end up adopting these ranks, I'd really like to be a Scholar (or Loremaster, etc.)  :3

Those are some very fine sounding titles for you, wonderful to see our allies continue to grow  ^-^

I guess we'll wait until Travius is on then x3

Trailmaster - head of the herd
Guides - know-it-all in terms of location.  Have the layout of the Everfree memorized, etc.
Lorekeepers/Scholars- know-it-all in terms of spells and abilities, buff and debuff experts, cc, etc
Bards- know-it-all in terms of stories and quests, roleplayers, etc
The Watch - fighters and tanks, main physical protection for travellers
Trackers - search for lost ponies and items, seek out mobs, quests, etc.
Scouts - fast fliers with stealth, scout out locations for dangers and also look for potential recruits
Recruits - new members who don't have a role yet

I'd be a songmaster. Sounds a little nicer than Bard.  <3

The Wandering Magus

maybe "songkeeper"? or "minstrel"?

Clearly the title should depend on your skill level, and if you were bad at singing you'd be stuck with "Screecher" forever.

In seriousness, I'd kind of prefer Bard or Minstrel to Songmaster, just 'cause the former two sound more musically diverse. ovO

I think Minstrel sounds better than Bard, for some reason x3

Parfait isn't a musical pony though. She's a storyteller  lol Where would she fit in?

Minstrels and Bards are storytellers, not always musicians.  They can tell the stories while lightly strumming a lute or just telling slightly poetically without music.  Music is just another way to tell the story!

For a pure storyteller, Loremaster would be a good title, but that one's already been taken.

Maybe switching around some names and making the skills-expert Scholar and the stories-expert Loremaster?

Sotha

When I hear 'Songmaster', I think of a group sitting around a fire. I think camping.

Bard has always felt like a more solitary affair. But that's just me.

I really think it just depends on the sense Travius is trying to go for with this herd.
May you walk on warm sands.

daswed

When I hear bard, I think of a pony who travels town to town, telling tales of epic proportions, and sings songs that will be remembered through the ages.
