Poets Corner

Anybody ever read Stephen King's The Dark Tower? I can recommend it with a fair degree of surety. I've been reading it off and on this semester and I've just fallen in love with it.
The streets are empty. Wind skims the voids keeping neighbors apart, as if grazing the hollow of a cut reed, or say, a plundered mailbox. A familiar note is produced. It's the one Desolation plays to keep its instrument in tune.

I remember reading the first book one day at home, since I couldn't go to school because of a fever or something. I liked it, but it's been so long that I can't really remember specifics.
