What would the world be like without alcohol?

We can still have alcohol(rubbing alcohol and solvents) but not the kind that you ingest.

So if we never had alcohol before, and we still didn't, what would the world be like?
What good and what bad would come out of that?

Many deaths would be undone , and some made.As bad as I think alchohol is some people sadly need it to pass depression.Most people die drunk , but if they are depressed enough without alchohol they might commit suicide.However I think that can be solved with anti-depressants meaning that the world would be better without it.
