I deviated from the recipe slightly and added maple syrup(I had to open it with pliers so I know it's real) and vanilla for flavor, hoping it would taste good.

They taste AWESOME!!!  I'll likely eat about 6-8 before I go to bed tonight!

I share your logic here, .  If I was ALMOST in a car accident I wouldn't be smiling.  I'd be cursing out the other driver for almost hitting me(It would be their fault as i'm an awesome driver  ).

I guess not falling down the stairs would make anypony smile considering the alternative(being THROWN down the stairs(actually, over the balcony) by your sister and hitting the closed door at the bottom of the stairs)
