"You cannot delete your own topics in this board."

Why is this not possible? Especially if the topic in question has been present for more than a few days and has 0 posts in it. Locking it only takes up unnecessary space, and calling a moderator to delete it is more of a hassle than it should be.

I too have been wondering this. Though, when I want one of my threads deleted I report it to a moderator and say "Delete my thread please." They usually do it within a half hour or so. Though considering the fact that moderators have no reason to deny your request to delete your own thread for you, why can't you do this yourself? It probably was just not added yet.

1) You might actually start a topic someone later needs.
2) People could abuse it
3) No need to close threads or delete them at all. If they are old, they will just be in the background doing nothing.
