I can't check my profile comments. This section doesn't even show up.

Hmh... that's really what it looks like. Now you can have only one image in signature section.

Also, chances are the new way the comments work makes the first time you see it appear wonky. To fix this, refresh your cache, as I have mentioned in that topic I've linked above.

so... refreshed cache a few times, all I see in comments is a loading bar, a check and a warning sign.

Clear your cache, it works fine for me on all browsers after clearing the cache/Ctrl + F5ing multiple times.

chrome, and it fixed itself I think, although all previous comments were deleted

To be honest, I might be trying to modify more things with the profile comments, so don't get too attached to your posts.
