She looks up at him, realizing her friend might not be himself at the moment, "What do you mean...?"

"I am poison, utter poison, to every endeavor which I take on. I cause failure, strife, and loss where ever I go. It's the only explanation! Every adventure I go on always ends with the new 'status quo' being worse that it had started."

"As a stallion of science and logic, do you really beleive that Star? Perhaps it is not caused by you, perhaps it is just what happens, and you can not help it."

"Of course it is! I'm the only common element of commonality, and every. Single. Thing. I. Am. Involved. With. Breaks."

He would feel a swift slap across the face, ".... sorry, I saw Twilight do it, and I thougt it would be a good idea to do it to bring a pony back to reality. Star, I am not broken, I am far from it. I am better then I was before you met me, I am starting to feel more... more like...  A pony, if that makes sense. The multiverse was nearing destruction, it was in a bad state. YOU, you fixed it! You fixed it, and now it may be better because the other Stormy, or StormyCore, may try to be the defender of the multiverse. And she, me, the existance of our multiverse, may not be possible, without you!"

"I got seventeen killed! I got whoever shares your head killed! I almost got myself killed! I dragged Twilight Sparkle into my hell of a world! I lost another part of my mind, and in the end, I barely managed to get things back to 'as good' as they were before. I made no progress! I only barley managed to fix most of the problems. After all this, we get 'baseline'."

She frowns, "You look at things negatively, Star Gazer. You saved an impossibly infinite amount of people, but you had to sacrifice to get there. You, physically, are better then you were, the pony in my head is not killed, she is in BACKUP, meaning we can restore her to a new body, a seperate body for her to use, Twilight may of got hurt but that was a given. Everything is fine, and in the end, really, everything is mostly as they were, or they will be very soon."

"Exactly!" Star said wildly. "That's exactly it. All that lost, just to get to what we had before! Why can't, ever, just once, I come out with some kind of positive after loosing so much!"

"Having your world not enslaved and forced to do horrible horrible experiments and tests or possibly being destroyed all together and only have Celestia and Luna left to mourn over their lost civilisation, and just causing things to stay at the status quo IS the positive thing you gain from this."

"So that's just it. My lot is to simply fight my hardest forever, never making any gains, always just getting to what I had before after all the loss?" He sighed.

"Yes. That is the heroes lot. That is what we fight for, so that other ponies don't have to." Twilight said, walking into the room. "This is how it works. This is how it always has worked. I know from first hoof experience."

She looks over to Twilight, and smiles brightly "Oh hello Twilight, Glad to see you are mostly okay." ((What do you think she would look like?)) she says, trying to shift gears from the negative.

((Not that great. Burns leave really, really big scars. But she's probably physically near fine.))
"Good to see you up and about, too." She turned to Star. "Look. We can talk about this later. There's plenty to talk about, I know. But just because thing's aren't the best they could be, there's no reason to not celebrate what we do have. What you earned, Star Gazer, was stability, as long as it can last for. Let's use the time we have, not thinking about what could have been, but enjoying what we got. Besides," She pulled up next to Star, nuzzling his ear. "What we have, this normalcy? It's pretty good, if you ask me."

"Oh. Oh. OH!" Star looked at Twilight. "The blushing.... and the heat.... the playful chiding.... the exasperated..... the... the...." His eyes went wide. "The whole time. Four months. How could I have... how..."

"Finally, he gets it!" Twilight grins into him.

"Well, aparantly 17's body was recovered. Core thought she put it in the incinerator, however it was broken, so she was still in one piece, relatively speaking. However her AI systems were completly destroyed, so there is no chance of recovery. However, what she can do is reconstruct the body, put in a fresh synthetic brain, and I can transfer Red Velvet to the new body.... so things seem to coming together nicely. 17's death means the pony trapped in me can live again." ... "Also you two are together now. So that is good too. May I study this to learn more about llve and the mating process of ponies?"

"NO!" Both Twilight and Star said together.
"That's a bit too far, Stormy."
"We're not together."

She nods, "Okay, but if you two do get together, please tell me." she smiles politely, "I would really like to know... anyway, I must be going back to Aperture for a bit, to help around and fix things with StormyCore." she smiles and turns to walk away, but stops for a moment, "Also, Celestia said that she or Luna would heal the rest of your wounds. Go see them." she walks out of the room.

*Beet*

"We're... not?" Twilight asked quietly.
"Realizing that somepony loves you and loving that pony are completely separate things. Twilight, don't take this the wrong way, but I don't love you. You're the perfect partner, but not the perfect soulmate." Star sighed. "You should go see Celestia."
"But..."
"We'll talk later. Get yourself fixed now."

16 goes back to Aperture labs, and when she gets there, she is greeted by Core, "Hello 16!" 16 smiles, "Hello Core!" then they both "How are you doing" at the sametime. 16 blinks, but giggles and smiles a little "I am good I suppose."  Core nods in agreement, "Would you like to see my progress on the Red Velvet model? I am using a more light weight design, since it is easier, and most likely will emulate being in an actual organic body. I am also giving her our old look, what she used to look like." 16 seems very interested, "That seems fascinating. Take me to her if you would?" Core nods and begins walking.

Twilight leaves, despondent, and gets herself checked out by Celestia. Star, after eloquently convincing the infirmary staff not to take him to an insane asylum, heads off for his home outside of Ponyville.

Stormy16 and Core go about the facility, and talk about different things such as future plans, theorys on pony psycology, misunderstandings, and their time in ponyville among other things. This all transpires in a few hours, and after seeing and talking about everything they need to, Stormy gives StormyCore Red Velvet for later use, then heads back to Ponyville.

Twilight gets healed, goes home, and cries to Spike for a few hours.

Star gets home, makes sure it hasn't been burned to the ground quite yet, asks Lyra to watch it, and purchases a ticket to Appaloosa. He leaves on the train about one hour after leaving Canterlot.
