Well 'distracting men' is a poor explanation, but showing up to school practically half-naked is just plain distasteful and it should be against the rules.

Whenever I see someone dressed in something like a miniskirt and a tubetop, my first thought is "Um, forget to get dressed this morning?" Why even bother wearing clothes if they don't cover anything? Might as well just show up in your underwear.

This is something that annoys me.

It's our body.
We can put whatever we want on it. Even if we choose to not put anything on it tbh.

Ah this argument. Fun.

Thing is, that goes when you live on your own and are enjoying your free time. However if you still live with your parents, go to school, or go to work, you are NOT free to wear what you like. Others will dictate what you wear in quite a lot of places, your parent have the liberty to decide what you wear (even if they dont/fail to), you will not be getting hired for/keeping very many jobs wearing miniskirts or old smudged t-shirts and plenty of schools have limits on what is allowed.

Yes strictly speaking you have complete liberty in what you put on yourself... except wearing nothing in public, or wearing masks in public, or wearing SS uniforms, or at work, or when your parents tell you not to, etc.

Like all 'freedom' it comes with caveats and exceptions as well as the responsibility to not do anything too stupid with it.

How I'm socially awkward...and I have a bit of a socio-phobia (especially when meeting new people)

My i.r.l. "friends" don't understand. My "friends" never understand. 'Stop being so self-centred and open-up.'
Yeah. Like it's THAT EASY.
I try...I try to talk to others...it always ends-up becoming awkward...I can't think of anything to say.
I never speak much...nor have I made friends with many people around me...so it'll take a while.
A LONG while.
And it doesn't help when my "friends" keep ditching me either.

Sometimes I ask myself why I even bother trying.   >.<

I know that feeling. The only time I don't feel socially awkward is around my closest friends. Everyone else seems to think I look sad or depressed all the time because I hardly talk to them.

Once I was just standing by myself like I usually do and a girl came up to me and asked me if I was ok. Beat that.
I don't understand, is being alone really that odd?

Its not so much being alone as being alone in a crowd that sets people off. Makes em think your having trouble with something or that you don't like any of the people around there enough to hang out with them.

And then there is the subset of highly socially dependent people who find it painful to be alone and cant imagine anyone else being any different. The girl that asked if you were ok might just have been genuinely concerned. Ignorance rather than malice and all that.

I think Avira has a decent free offering, heard some mixed stories about AVG. Malwarebytes is also good as a secondary, you can use it to scan for some sorts of malware that AV often misses. Just make sure to download the program from the makers site, not some knockoff 3rd party offering you paid stuff for free. (or free stuff with malware added...)

Also lol FBI virus. There were actually variants made for that virus for other countries (badly translated, but with a completely accurate copy-paste of anti piracy laws). It completely freaked out the paranoid roommate I had at the time, who was not just generally suspicious but actually diagnosed by a psychologist with paranoia and PTSD so yeah, it took quite a lot of convincing to get him to realize it was just a scam.

PRINTERS!

They are things of EVIL! Forged in the fires of HELL! Exclusive design by SATAN!

And its not just the crappy consumer printers that come with half-filled cartridge/toners, but also the 6-grand enterprise models at my work. Why is it that with two identical printers, with identical firmware, drivers, settings, windows print settings, and same file being printer from the same program, one of the printers cant sort pages right?  I swear printers get programmed with 1% chance of a random brainfart just to keep printer engineers employed.

MALWARE!

And the legal system's inability to prosecute its makers.

I'm not even talking about the obviously criminal ones like cryptolocker, but things like that http://forum.legendsofequestria.com/index.php?topic=2470.0">Read the forum rules.ed ask.com toolbar, 'optimizer pro' and 'search protect'. They are of no use whatsoever to the user, most of them just do stuff like relaying a Google search and adding their own ads or spreading ads random all over webpages, but other are a lot more harmful and do stuff like bringing in other malware, selling users fake antivirus, or even hijacking computers to mine bitcoins.

And heres the best part: Lots, if not most, of these are made and spread by registered US companies. They pay legitimate software makers to sneak they poison along (looking at you, Filezilla, Adobe and Java!), sneak ad profits from giants like Google, exploit naive computer users, cause general discomfort, annoyance and high energy bills all to no benefit to the end 'user' whatsoever. And its all possible because of those EULA things nobody ever reads and the fact that its legal to put stuff in there like 'we can use your computer however we see fit' or 'we can take any information from your computer we like and sell it to whoever we like'.

... and I could go on but thats enough of that for now. Working in IT can be a blast  :l

DawnsEmbrace actually has a point. Its kinda weird how quickly horses fell out of fashion as a manly thing, just about a hundred years ago it was considered the epitome of manliness to sit on a horse while it charges at your enemies! Before horses become obsolete as a mode of transport, labour and warfare (which I should add was only around the 1960s for the first two) the stereotype was pretty much the other way around. Horses were rode into combat by men, taken care of by men (squires and stable mates, which were exclusively male, to Night Pony), and a woman riding a horse was considered inappropriate.

The 20th century was a massive shift in western culture though. So much changed from 1900 to 2000 its not entirely surprising that the stereotype surrounding horses went and flipped about, though still kind of disappointing. It just went from one kind of stupid to another.

Also its pretty much unavoidable for terrifying, evil myths and even real people to get cutyfied (at most) a hundred years later. Vlad the Impaler? Sparkly whiny teenager. Pirates? Kid show presenter. Dragons? Spike the dragon... And if you don't believe me, look up 'Cure Hitler fashion Thailand'. Wish I were kidding.
