Hello Everypony!

The Open Server Event is almost upon us! Servers open up at 12:01 AM EST on Friday August 14th (See the timer at the bottom of the post). We hope you're as excited as we are! To get you ready for the Open Server Event, here are the download links for the game client. Go ahead and pick the download that corresponds to your machine's operating system and you'll be set to enter Equestria first thing tomorrow! Just know that the game won't let you log in until our game servers open up. Got that? Okay!

Please Note: Your browser might inform you that the file is malicious! Don't worry though, it's still safe!

How to unblock a download on Chrome
If you are using Google Chrome, it may try to block the download because Google Chrome is silly. To skip the filter, hit Ctrl-J to open your downloads window and click "Recover Malicious File"

(Testing) Launcher
Windows Only!

Finally we are reintroducing our launcher back to the public, now with 100% more awesome. Currently it is only available for Windows users and does not work for XP. If you are interested in trying it out give it a download, keep in mind we still have the full download links available above in case it doesn't work for you.



If you are using windows 8 or 10, Windows Smartscreen may try to prevent you from running the game. To fix this, click "more info (http://i.imgur.com/Mtlyx79.png)", then "run anyways (http://i.imgur.com/pefpwgi.png)" when the prompt shows up on your screen, and you should be ready for pony! Also, If you install the launcher where admin rights are required start the launcher as administrator by right clicking and selecting "Run as Administrator".

Notes

Take note that with each Open Server event, we enable new fixes and features. Therefore, we have to wipe game data on our servers with each update. Character data and items collected from previous Open Server events will NOT carry over.

What is the "Windows Launcher?" Is it required to run LoE or is it designed to enhance something? Many thanks!!

The launcher will download the files, unpack them into the proper folders and update the game for you. It's significantly smaller in size than downloading the entire project and I would recommend it over just downloading the project outright.

Edit: To clarify, you'll end up with the same files as those who downloaded directly, but it'll likely be faster and less traffic heavy to use the launcher.

Our server admin is currently asleep and we wanted to make the download available as soon as possible.

Downloaded it, extracted it, gave it a test run. My antivirus software always blocks it the 1st time, but got it fixed & got it to launch. Even reported it to the anti-virus insight to trust it for other users that it as a trusted file.

Now to wait for tomorrow...

In the main menu or any other menu (ex: setting) when you press Esc it will quit the game without asking.

Has it been a week already? It felt like just yesterday we were showing the game off at BronyCon

I´m so exited, on the last open server weekend I was still using my, lets call it, "Vintage" laptop.

Back in Galacon I remembered you guys say there'll be PvP and lv up coming soon and will keep the server running all the time not just weekend. Is there any plan for that now?

The servers are open between the 14th-16th of August,
OSW is an acronym for 'Open server weekend'

Update: Windows Launcher works as intended, launching the game in a fraction of the time as downloading the entire .zip file. I hope to see its continued use in the future.

No you WILL be able to get on with your Mac! However you cannot test out the new launcher
but you DEFINITELY will still be able to play, they've always had a mac and linux version! =)

Is there a reason why loading the execution file for both x86 and x64 versions doesn't cause the main program to load?

Nothing happens at all when double clicking the executable.

Alright, I figured out the problem, by running the game as an Administrator, it now works.

I opened it and tried to login but the game says I need to update the game first before playing

Can anybody please upload it to Mediafire (or anything else), because I've been havin problems with MEGA (it downloaded, but not to my computer) and now i need to wait 10hs to download it. PUH-LEASE DD:

Aah, I can go to Ponyville only when I create a land pony !!
But I have a more serious problem since I installed DirectX 10 and DirectX 11, I noticed that problems appeared and they was not there before ... So I uninstalled manullement DirectX and j 'have handed on 9 and later when I wanted to try, I have a big buuuug :

I especially bugs elsewhere in Ponyville , but it is slightly different , bugs....
And I do not know how to ride in the levels.... o.O

PS : It would be better if the server was open more often and a little longer....

Update ur video drivers and install the english directx, 2 of my 3 pcs crashes on related dx files, one was spanish the other ukranian, all of them win7, dunno why but installing dx english stoped the crashes

I understand there is a problem with the graphics card and not DirectX......
I even pixels that are added to the screen.... ono

When i try to open it, it just quickly quits again, with no message or anything?  o.O
I'm using a mac 10.6.8 fyi

Phew, I have no problem graphically in the game! Because on the graphics card, there were two capacitors that exploded like a common paper bag full of diamond! The capacitors had to be replaced by those of another old graphics card! And it was not because of DirectX but the card itself, but I still can not go to Ponyville do now, just when I land pony ...

This is now officially annoying. Every time I download LOE I cannot run it because my Norton keeps deleting the launcher and I'm unable to stop it from happening. This has been happening since the previous open server weekend and I just cant be asked for all this hassle. Does anyone know how to stop it cause until then, I cannot even open the file.

Patcher design looks good. Thanks for NOT choosing dotnet framework to build it. This means easy cross platform porting. I just ran it under wine on linux and it worked until it started patching than hung. That might just be a wine issue so disregard it unless windows users mention it too. Looking good so far though.

So, I'm pretty much new to this game and literally found it last night. Been working alot on my character for a few hours now when I came across this and figured out this is only a small period of open serves and that my progression won't carry over in future builds. Kind of saddens me how I find a game that I enjoy and now it will all be taken away in a few hours only to open again in an unknown future. At least most of the alpha games out on the market keep their servers open to maintain their population and fans and bring them down every week for maintenance, yet we can all still play when we feel like it. When the open servers event is over, when will we be able to play again? Days, months, years? (I'm clueless): :P Legends of Equestria has great potential and I have searched high and low for a game like this, and the fact that it is based on my favorite cartoon makes it even better. How teasingly getting one hooked on a game only to bring it down the same day.  >A<
