Electric Gamer trotted up to Unusa Academy. i hope mom was right about sending me to this school... mumbled Electric looking up at the beautiful academy.
'So, this is the place, huh?'
Blaze Burst had just stepped out of the carriage and started walking towards Unusua Academy. At first, she had no intention of even going to this school. However, after a mishap with her magic that burned her house down (for the fifth time), Blaze's mom had finally gotten so fed up that she sent her daughter to Unusua Academy to help her control her magic and prevent any future incidents. After a while, Blaze was actually looking forward to attending school at Unusua Academy.
And now she was standing right in front of it.
As she walked, Blaze noticed another mare standing there staring at the school. She decided to joke around a bit to break the ice.
"The school isn't gonna grow wings or something if you keep staring at it, you know," said Blaze.
North Wind flew up to the school, and as he headed there, he saw a unicorn say to another unicorn "The school isn't going to grow wings or something if you keep staring at it." North considered for a moment, and dropped down in front of the unicorns and said "Unless her power is making things grow wings."
Electric jumped when she heard Blaze and jumped. Soon enough she turned into a gray and blue dragon. ugh I need to control my powers :l
"That's some power you got there," North wind said as he stared in awe at the dragon that was Electric Gamer.
yeah it's pretty nice I guess but I still need to learn how to control it said Electric as she turned back into herself.oh by the way I'm Electric Gamer! But my friends call me Electric for short :)
"I'm North Wind and I can freeze stuff." To demonstrate, he flicked his head at a nearby tree and in a matter of seconds, icicles were hanging from it's branches.
Electrics jaw dropped. that... Is.... AWESOME!!! said Electric bouncing up and down. She glared at the tree with amazement were you born with your powers?
"I don't know, but my power is nothing compared to yours."
well at least you know how to control your powers said Electric jokingly.
"Well, that's what we were sent here. Oh yeah, the dorms are mixed, so want to room with me? You seem like a pretty cool filly to me," North Wind said awkwardly.
sure! she said warmly while slightly pushing up her glasses
"Well, let's go!" Said North Wind as he headed through the doors.
Electric giggled and followed North Wind. When she got in she stopped at her hoofsteps. wow..... said Electric while admiring the Academy.
Dark Hooves arrives at the academy and enters silently.
"You know what, I think they put the school on top of a mountain to copy Canterlot, and then decided putting it on the side wasn't good enough for them," said North, noticing Electric staring in awe. And then, he noticed the black Alicorn, flapped over and asked "Hi! What's your name?"
Electric soon realizes theres a black alicorn here. She trotted up to him. Hi!

I...I...I... have a darkness that dwells inside of me. I also have the light to oppose it. The problem lies with the darkness, I can't control it. He keeps looking at the floor.

I can't transform at will either, only when I am really angry. He whispers so softly it is almost inaudible. I refuse to believe that they are a part of me. They can't be a part of me.

The only thing I know that makes me angry is ponies selfishly using their gifts. Also during daytime I change into the light form, at night I change to the dark form. He looks out the window at the great blue sky. I guess for now we are safe, the light entity is friendly towards everypony.

Electric found it interesting that Dark Hooves can change forms. Wow really interesting! And i agree with you about ponies using their powers for no good reason
It is a blessing and a curse, I have to constantly keep my emotions in check especially at night. The dark entity I cannot control.
I need to keep my anger away from me because unicorns have this weird thing.... its when our mane and tail catch fire when were mad... she said while thinking for a while i had my first one a year ago....

You would be hard to bring under control, just like I am when I am in my dark form. He shows his CM. I am the physical embodiment of yin and yang.

I have the ability to sense the light and darkness in a pony's mana. All ponies have mana therefore I can tell if they are good or bad.

Yes all ponies have mana, but in the different species the mana manifests itself in different ways. Unicorns of course can manipulate their mana at will through their horns, the Pegasi can walk on clouds and fly, and the Earth ponies are physically strong and robust. Alicorns like myself can manipulate mana, fly, and walk on clouds.

I was going to be a student of Princess Celestia, but got foalknapped by dragons when I was 10. I studied the 3 pony species and noticed distinct traits for each of them, as well as the royal family alicorns. He turns to North Wind. No you haven't.

Neat! I posses ice elemental magic, but that doesn't have anything to do with my powers. I possess all four elemental magics. Fire, ice, water, and lightning.

"Well, at least I can control my power," North Wind bragged. All of the sudden, he remembered something. "Come to think of it, I've heard that the Power Ponies went here," he said, when suddenly, lightning flashed, and six mares walked up. After a few seconds, one of them with a lightning bolt-shaped amulet said "Of course we did. In fact, we're the principals."
Scared from the lightning Electric turned into a dragon. H-hi she said shaking a little
North Wind's lower jaw nearly fell off his face with shock. "Z-Zapp?" He asked the mare standing behind him. She answered with "The One and Only!" A flash of pink appeared out of nowhere, and another mare appeared next to the comic-book superhero. "Filli-second?" He said to the new pony. "Yes, indeedalee!" As if on cue, the other five coming right beside them, the Masked Matter-Horn swooping down from the ceiling, followed by Saddle Ranger; Radiance on a glowing purple magic carpet, and Mistress Mare-volous swinging by her lasso with Hum Drum on her back.
Still in her dragon form she tried to talk as quietly as she can. wow! its really you guys! she said with a small lash of her tail
Taking advantage of the fact that Electric was staring in awe, he formed a snowball in his hoof an threw it, using his powers to guide it towards the side of her face.
I have heard of the Power Ponies.
Electric laughs as she wiped the snow off her face. She turned back into a pony, Its amazing that the Power Ponies went here! I have always loved them!

North Wind jumped when Dark Hooves conjured the flame. "Don't do that so close to me! I have pyrophobia!"
Electric just laughed and roller her eyes at North Wind.

Slowly, more students started to file in and headed to the dorms to unpack.
Wow! I didn't know so many ponies went here!
What to do? I have already unpacked and I am waiting on the classes to start. Thinking. I really hope for everypony's sake that I can learn to control the dark god inside of me. I don't want anypony getting hurt. He facehoofs worriedly.

"Oh my gosh! I need to unpack!" North realized and darted down the halls, picked an empty dorm, and threw his saddlebags in it hastily. He headed back to Dark Hooves and Electric and said "Anyways, want to go down to the arena and play around with our powers? I'm pretty sure it's open on the first day."
Electric shrugged. Its fine with me, as long as we dont hurt anypony. And it will be good practice for controlling my powers.

"So this is the place for the School?" The young Filly named Snowdrop trots in looking at the School, her ice powers got a weird affect of freezes stuff without her actually activating her magic. So Snowdrop enters the School.

"Follow me!" North Wind heads down to the Arena. Once he gets there, it's filled with ponies summoning storm clouds, shape shifting, cloning themselves, things like that.
Rush sat in a relatively clear part of the arena. It looked as though he was meditating, but with his eyes open; his horn glowed a neutral gray, but nothing seemed to be happening. None of the others seemed to really want to go near him; one even made a large arc around him.
Electric Catches up to North. Wow... Electric saw that everypony had some amazing power. Electric looked around and saw a unicorn meditating with his eyes open and saw that nopony wanted to be around him. She trotted up to him.
Rush wasn't really paying attention to his surroundings, so he didn't notice the other approach him.
Checkmate stepped up to the school, adjusting his glasses and grumbling, but, although he looked angry, his eyes zoomed all over the location and everypony he could see.
Electric watched what Rush was doing and pushed up her glasses Umm, hi! she said while smiling
Rush flinched as his horn's aura faded. He blinked a few times, then looked towards Electric.
[Color=gray]"Oh, um, hello..."[/color] He said in an almost dazed tone.
I was watching what you were doing, she smiled What were you doing? she asked
[Color=gray]"I was just meditating."[/color] Rush said with a shrug.
Electric slightly tilted her head With your eyes open? Thats interesting.
Rush chuckled. [Color=gray]"Not really."[/color]
So whats your special power? she asked Wanting to know this pony's power
Rush smirked. [Color=gray]"Well... I create illusions. What about you?"[/color]
Well i- she got cut off with a sneeze. Of course she can't control herself and turns into a Gray and light blue dragon, with a scarf and glasses. She nearly stepped on Rush Can turn into a dragon.... she said while sighing.
Rush flinched and took a few steps back. He shook off his surprise and laughed. [Color=gray]"That's amazing!"[/color]
Electric laughed slightly and turned back into a pony It isn't that amazing when you don't know how to control it
Rush smiled and said, "Is that why you're here?"
Electric smiled Yep! My mom says i keep destroying the house so... she trailed off and just giggled
Rush chuckled. [Color=gray]"I can see that..."[/color]
Electric thought for a moment, Hey, can i see what illusions you can make?
Rush suddenly looked nervous. [Color=gray]"Are you sure?"[/color]
She nodded and thought I wonder why he looks so nervous..
[Color=gray]"Ok..."[/color] He sighed.
His horn lit up with the same neutral gray as before, and as it did, the area around them seemed to ripple. After the ripple, the background faded away into a black space.
[Color=gray]"What would you like to see? Environment wise?"[/color]
Electric looked around in awe and looked at Rush, she thought for a moment. How about the ever free forest? she suggested.
Rush smiled widely.
[Color=gray]"Good choice!"[/color] He said with glee as the blackness around them shifted into a forest area. All of the features, including the berry bushes, tree height, and the color of the grass, matched perfectly with the real thing. There was even a light breeze blowing through the area.
Electric looked around, her jaw dropped open Wow....
Rush looked around and laughed. [Color=gray]"Feel free to roam around if you'd like; the illusion is rather expansive."[/color]
Electric smiled and started walking around exploring, This is amazing!
[Color=gray]"Thanks..."[/color] He said, following closely behind. He seemed to examine every little aspect of the illusion as they walked.
Its amazing how every pony here has special talents! Electric exclaimed Out of all the ponies here with powers i think your power is the best!
Rush lowered his head. [Color=gray]"I wouldn't say that..."[/color]
Electric just giggled Its just that your power is Amazing! Unbelievable!
Rush just sighed. [Color=gray]"I'm sure there are more ponies at this school with more amazing talents than mine."[/color] He looked around at the forest and said, "I think that's enough of a presentation, don't you?"

The illusion faded to black, then completely vanished, placing them both back where they were before.
Rush facehoofed. [Color=gray]"I just realized I never properly introduced myself. My name is Rush."[/color]
Electric giggled then nodded Nice to meet you Rush I'm Electric Gamer. she smiled
Rush returned the smile and said, "Likewise."

Blazing Sun came up to the front door, wondering if it was a good idea to come to this school. After thinking for about five minutes, she went inside.
Her eyes moving at high speeds, noticing everything she saw almost instantly, she slow traveled through the building. She didn't see anypony for ten minutes, so she sat down, her back against the wall, waiting for somepony to say something to her.
Well, I'm going to practice how to control my powers Electric said. Bye! she called while trotting away. She trotted into the building and noticed a pony leaning against the wall. She smiled and trotted up to her. Hello! she said with a warm smile.
[Color=gray]"Bye."[/color] Rush said in return. After she left, he looked around the area, now curious about the powers of all the other ponies.
"Hi..." Blazing Sun replied, with a bored look on her face. "Just so you know, you're the first pony I've seen here. I was looking around for ten minutes before sitting here. I guess I looked in the wrong places."
Well... Electric said Most of the ponies are outside practicing their powers
"Is that so?" Blazing Sun wondered. "Well, where is it? Because I can't use my power here at all, as I might blow up this building... Sorry if that's scary to you."
Over in a corner, trying his hardest to be ignored, a stallion was playing chess. Bizarrely, he was playing it with himself.
Electric chuckled Its not scary to me at all! You should see me turn into a dragon and almost destroy this building! she smiled Electric led Blazing outside where every pony was practicing their powers.
"Dragons? Awesome! I love dragons, they just look SOOO cool!" Blazing Sun laughed, but then paused. "Aaaand I just realized I haven't even introduced myself yet. My name's Blazing Sun, but you can call me Blaze for short. Nice to meet you. Blazing Sun then smiled. At the same time, she noticed somepony in the corner and thought I wonder who that is over there though...
The stallion in the corner kept playing his game with himself, resetting it whenever one side won.

Rush looked around the area, spotting a stallion playing chess with himself. Curiously, he made his way over to him.

A silly pegasus mare flew up to the academy. "oooooh this place is so COOL!" Shouted the enthusiastic Sunny. "But it would be better if Nightcloud was with me" She grumbled under her breath. She silently trotted over to the dorm she was assigned to and put her bags there and flew outside all in a span of 10 seconds. "I CANT WAIT TO MEET NEW PONIEEEEEEES!!!"Shouted a happy and excited Sunny once again, which made everypony near her temporarily deaf.

Practicing. The only way to learn is to practice against an opponent equal or better in skill. Since no such pony exists, I'm playing against the next best thing.
[Color=gray]"So you're playing against yourself? Is your talent perhaps strategy?"[/color] Rush asked, not quite grasping the concept of playing against oneself.
According to the letter, I am the foremost mind in strategy and tactics in Equestria. Therefore, to practice, I must practice against an equal mind, namely, myself.
Rush smirked as he began to attempt a mind game with the strategist.
[Color=gray]"But wouldn't that mean you would lose every time you played?"[/color]
Not if it is a draw. Observe. Checkmate's hooves moved in a flurry, and, soon enough, the board was empty save for the kings.
Rush rubbed his chin. [Color=gray]"I see your point, but how would it be practical for anything to end in a draw?"[/color]
A draw is a tactically safe situation if a victory is impossible. After all, the opponent cannot react immediately if they were not expecting a draw. If a pony is expecting a draw, they'll know how to react in that situation.
Rush chuckled, accepting defeat. [Color=gray]"I see. At least you don't have any holes in your logic, unlike some ponies..."[/color]
Any holes in one's logic are merely weaknesses to be exploited. Checkmate finally looked around, before holding out a hoof. Checkmate.
[Color=gray]"Rush."[/color] He said, shaking Checkmate's hoof.

I would assume you may want to become familiar with the others' talents, just in case you would need to use that knowledge in your favor at some point."[/color] Rush said, looking around
I've been watching them. I don't need to talk to them to see their talents, many of them demonstrate easily. And, should they attempt to harm me, they're too rash. It's easily counterable.
[Color=gray]"And mine?"[/color] Rush asked in a curious, yet vaguely serious tone.

Rush thought a moment, hesitating for a moment before answering. [Color=gray]"I suppose. I am a master of memory-tapping and illusion magic."[/color]
Interesting. I must admit, I've dabbled in illusion magic. I simply don't have the strength for a longer lasting illusion. Still, the tactical possibilities are endless.
[Color=gray]"Hm. That's interesting, but I can still see your strengths lying in a better place than discouragement of the enemy, or even distraction."[/color] Rush said with a shrug.
Indeed. While those are factors, they do not win a fight alone.
[Color=gray]"And neither does brute strength, nor strategy without the means of pulling it off."[/color]
Exactly. One must always understand the capabilities of their forces or themselves. Only then can they even begin to formulate a strategy.
[Color=gray]"Though one also must realize the willingness of the forces under them; one disobeyed order and a plan can be sent into disarray and fail."[/color]
Indeed. The proper method seems to be to combine punishment and celebration. Lean too much towards cruelty, and soldiers will desert. Other way, and they may be loyal, but they will be less organized.
[Color=gray]"Or they could lean towards mutiny if being treated poorly, but with your mindset, I don't feel as though you would have to worry too much with that. Reward the good, punish the bad; that, I admit, is a good overall strategy towards life."[/color]
Indeed. Of course, then one has to take into account emotions. That said, I believe I've managed to solve that problem.

Emotions are too random and unpredictable, thus, I locked them away. His speech seemed to confirm this: there was never any pride, annoyance, anger, or even just a friendly tone involved.

A creamy white unicorn with large, striking green eyes and white streaks in her red tail and mane approached. She tossed her mane back and smiled confidently. "Hi. I'm Peppermint Swirl. I don't think I've seen you round before. Are you new here? You must be. I've been here for a year so far. Honestly, this place is amazing..." She kept chatting on and on, not giving the others a chance to answer.
Suddenly, she clapped her hooves over her mouth, then drew them away again, apologizing. "Oh, gosh, sorry. I tend to keep talking. I was doing it again, wasn't I? Sorry. So, what're your powers then? And, who are you exactly? Not meaning to sound rude, just - never mind. What're your names?"
