One of my friend's asked me to be her bridesman at her third wedding. I turned her down.

Why? Her last two marriages give me no reason to believe this one will be for life. I don't want to be part of such a 'wedding'.

Which leads me to the point that people treat marriage like it's just a legal contract. I believe marriage is supposed to be for life - just like the vows themselves say. 'Til death do us part.' Why is that so hard to understand? It's not acceptable to get divorced because you are unhappy. When you take your vows you swear to be together for life; for better or for worse. If you don't like that then don't agree to it at the altar.

I realize that sometimes people enter marriages that seem totally hopeless, but that's just a hurdle the two need to get over. If your marriage isn't worth fighting tooth and nail to save then you shouldn't get married in the first place, especially not multiple times.

I think a tradition that should be adopted is for the couple to live together for a good long while and really settle into what life will be like when they're married, so they get a preview of it before they choose to marry.

A lot of people don't live together until after marriage, and then they get bad surprises about what it's like living with the person they just married.

So... Before the proposal, act like you're already married. Go through things that people typically go through after their marriage (not everything, mind you, if you understand what I mean). Things like living together, spending time with future in-laws, learning about things that people don't typically reveal during the dating stage, etc. Ignore the people who urge you and push you to go ahead and get married just because "Aww you're so cute together and you obviously love each other! You're totally meant for each other!"

I also think it's annoying that society has the view that every single person in the country/on Earth should be a parent.
Not everyone is suited to be a parent, you know. And not everyone wants to be a parent.

My mom always says "you'll have to do this and that an this when you have kids" but what if I don't want to have kids???
I don't really want to get married either.
But there's a special someone that makes me rethink that.....  I don't even know why do I like him I wish I could just click something and POOF you don't like him anymore.

Why do we find anything funny? Why do people have different senses of humor? Why is dark humor even a thing? Why must dry humor not be very common? Why must people look so confused at someone who has a dry sense of humor?

My friends stare at me when something scary happens and they're screaming, "Why are you so calm?!" Maybe it's because I enjoy this stuff? It's not like I expect you to widen your eyes when we watch a horror movie.
