The Hide and Seek Tournament returns!

It has been 5 years since Sweet and Elite Hide and Seek began, thanks to our former host, Deceptive Cadence A.K.A Fancy Frosting, and this is now the 3rd Tournament... and it might be the last! I myself feel that a competition like this would not be very fitting for Legends of Equestria, since this game is supposed to bring together friendship and unity, and the tournament may be in the way of that. We hope that everyone will get along as we host the tournament one final time and possibly end it off on a good note.

I am Optic Rainfall, the host of this event, and here to help me out are my friends:
Wind Spray, Autumn Dawn, Shuffle, Tiny Tenderheart, Trixie Cutiepox and Lens Flare

We head for the Capital of Equestria, Cantermore, where we'll be playing within the city's walls. Compete for earning the highest scores and claim prizes and maybe one of you will be this year's new champion by taking 1st place. Be sure to understand the gameplay and follow the rules first if you want to have a better chance. We want everyone to play fair with each other.

Prizes:
For this year, I have added acorns to the prizes, and I know that you may not have an Earth Pony with a high enough Farming level, but I will give you the option if you want me to plant the acorns for you and claim them after they grow or you have them yourself when you earn your prizes. Each race has their own unique prizes for 1st to 6th place, and depending on your pony race you will be rewarded with prizes under that group. This thread will guide you, explaining how you'll play in the Hide and Seek Tournament. Information about the schedule, guide, gameplay, rules, game modes, the map and scorings are down below for you to read through, so if you are participating in the event you'll need to understand and remember the details. There will be some quick reminders about how we play during the rounds of the game around the start, a lot of which will help my helpers when working on the scoresheet. Once you have read through everything you need to know about the Tournament you can place your Username (Optional) and the name of any pony character of your choice, and only one from your account, on the participation sheet in the document below so that we know who we're crediting and we'll have you listed for the Tournament. Be sure to tell your friends about it if they want to join. Applications will end at gathering time.

Participation Sheet:

Schedule:
Date: September 24th, 2022
Gathering Time: Saturday @ 4:30pm EST / 8:30pm GMT
Official Time: Saturday @ 5:00pm EST / 9:00pm GMT
Server: Amareicas
Location: Cantermore Town
Starting Area: University
Game modes: Normal, Chaos, Snuggle Pile and Bounty + Bonus Round

Guide:
While you're ingame I'll announce in global chat every 10 minutes about where we are, starting at 4:30pm EST, which is at the University in the Town of Cantermore, and also the room's code, so be sure that when you arrive in Cantermore, check to see if you are in the right room, which is shown under your map. The participants will need to show up in between gathering time and the official time so that we can mark you down on the scoresheets to acknowledge that you are playing in the Tournament.

At official time, which is 5:00pm EST, we will begin the Tournament with our 1st round which will be Normal Mode, and then go in order with Chaos, Snuggle Pile and Bounty Mode, and then lastly we'll go into Bonus Round. All of those rounds will take place only in Cantermore inside the borders and one round for each game mode. We'll be having a 5-10 minute break after the Snuggle Pile round has ended. The overall time expectancy to play all of these rounds should take about 3 hours.

After we've played all 5 rounds we'll end the event by announcing the top scorers who came in 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place, and also a mystery prize to the player with the most hiders found, then me and the helpers will give out the prizes to each of them. Lastly, I will give a huge thanks to all my helpers for making this possible and then we'll have a group screenshot altogether outside the University to finish up.

Gameplay:
Throughout the whole game, you are to stay in local chat to follow everything that goes on during each round. You are to stay outside the University near the fountain statue where I am before each round can begin and after they finish.

Before the start of each round, every participant must roll a 20-sided dice using the command: !roll 1d20 so that we can pick the ones with the highest rolls as our Prime Seekers. You'll have to reroll if you typed the incorrect roll command, or if we get a tie between two or more participants. Depending on how many participants will show up at the Tournament, we'll have multiple Prime Seekers if there are over 16 of us there. The Prime Seekers will hop in the fountain and face the wall once they have been picked, while the other participants, who will all be hiders, stand by them until I give the countdown for the round to begin.

As the round begins, the hiders will have 2 minutes to spread around the map, inside the borders, to find a spot where they can hide while the Prime Seekers will stay in the fountain at the University still facing against the wall. Once time is up, all hiders must sit, lay down or sleep in the spot they're hiding in so that we know they're hiding, and the Prime seekers will spread around the map finding all the hiders for 10 minutes.

There are some important things on what to do that you should keep in mind during each round, because this will help the managing of the scoresheets that the helpers are working on:
  • Every minute during a round, I'll announce how much time is left, and that's when I have a couple of my helpers to check all the hiders who are present and who are absent from the game.
  • As a seeker, whenever you find a hider you must call out in local chat by typing the word "Found" first and then type the hider's first name, since it will be easier to search for the names of every participant to mark down as they're listed in the scoresheet in alphabetical order. One hider will be added to your count of hiders that you've found in that round.
  • The hiders will become seekers right after they have been found and they will be marked down on the scoresheet depending on how many minutes are remaining.
  • At 3 minutes remaining, all hiders who have not been found yet must give out a hint on their whereabouts, and when doing so in the chat, type in the word "Hint:" first, so that one of my helpers is able to find it easily, and then type in what your hint is along with it. Each minute that goes by without you giving out a hint will lose you some points.
The round will be declared over when all hiders on the map have been found or when 10 minutes of seeking time have passed, and then we'll all gather outside the University again to start a new round with a different game mode.

Rules:
These rules will help keep the game in a fair condition when everyone is playing. If any of these rules are broken by one of the participants during each round they will receive penalties that could cost them their place on the scoresheet, so please read through each of them carefully.
  • No flying, teleporting or backwards bunny hopping.
  • No using jumping boots, climbing boots, ice skates, and any equipment that can boost your stats including crafted armor with harmonies, lanterns and the dandelion bracelet. Food items and potions are also prohibited.
  • No changing rooms
  • No using the train station or the portals that transport you to another map. Portals such as the ones that take you to the Library and University.
  • No using shortcut portals that take you outside of the borders.
  • No using the commands:
- /faint
- /cinematicmode or /cc
- /playercollision or /cc
- /stuck
- /bye or /logout
- /playervisible
  • No using any glitches that allows you to go through walls or the ground.
  • No hiding in water or in places that are disallowed or out-of-bounds. See under maps to know these areas. There are also purple terrains on mountains and brown terrains around the lakes with waterfalls that are not allowed to hide on.
  • Falling off the map isn't a strict rule, whether you did it by mistake or if you're stuck and have nowhere to go, but it can cost you a few points.
  • As a hider, do not move out of your spot right after 2 minutes of hiding time at the start of the round until you are found.
  • You are not allowed to tell anyone about where others are hiding or setting off candy showers or anything of the sort.
  • Do not press the tab key when searching for hiders.
  • No giving out hints that are very vague or misleading.
  • Do not trick me and my helpers in the chat, like saying that you found a hider when you didn't, or announcing how much time is left, or even falsely accusing someone of cheating.
  • You must roll for Prime Seeker at the start of each round, but if you've already seeked then there's no need to roll again

I will mention some things that are allowed if you're confused about some of these rules:
  • You are allowed to bunny hop when sprinting forwards, but don't go backwards when doing so.
  • You are fine to climb up walls without the use of climbing boots.
  • The commands that can be allowed to use are /sit, /lay and /sleep for when you want to hide in your spot.
  • Shortcut portals that take you to places within the borders are allowed to use.
  • The game modes below can determine whether the rules above can change, so read through them to learn more.
  • The 2nd round, which is Chaos Mode, will be the only time when the participants who have already rolled for Prime Seeker will not have to roll again, since in Snuggle Pile Mode you will have to roll for being a Prime Hider, and in Bounty Mode you'll need to roll for how much your bounty is worth.

The Map:
Spoiler: Map of Cantermore Town • show

We'll only be playing in the Town part of Cantermore, and outside the walls will be out-of-bounds, including the Castle area and around the Gala Hall. You are also not allowed to pass the bridge over the river that leads to the Castle. So you must stay within the walls and not enter the shortcut portals next to the gates during a round. You can, however, use the shortcut portals found at the University, Hospital and Flan's Cafe. Outside the lines around the town marked in orange are out-of-bounds for hiding, including underneath the University and the small areas of both waterfalls, so please keep in mind that if you're hiding you are to stay within those borders.

There are disallowed spots inside the borders of the town where you shouldn't hide, unless flying or teleporting are enabled as well as equipping Climbing boots, Jumping boots or Enchanted Ice Skates. These places are:
  • The top of the Court House
  • The top of the Ceremonial Building
  • The top level of the Culture Center (The round building next to Micro Transaction)
  • The rooftop of the tall building of the Gate to Gala Hall
  • The rooftops of the towers built along the walls
  • The rooftops of the two tallest towers of the University
  • On top of the big tree near the Gazebo

We'll need confirmation of how you got to your hiding spot if we are suspicious that you might have flown or teleported to one.

Game modes:
Here you will know how each of these game modes are played for each round.

Normal
As the name suggests, it is just normal Hide and Seek. Both the gameplay and the rules are all there to explain how this game mode will work.

Chaos
Both hiders and seekers are allowed to do flying, teleporting and backwards hopping and they can also equip their climbing boots, jumping boots or enchanted ice skates. However they're still not allowed to use any items or equipment that boost their stats. The disallowed spots are now free to hide in, but you still cannot hide in the water or in the out-of-bounds areas.

Snuggle Pile
This is the reverse version of Normal Mode. Before the start of the round every participant must roll this time for being a Prime Hider. We might have multiple Prime Hiders if there are over 16 participants who are ingame. All of the seekers will stay in the fountain at the University while our Prime Hiders will find a spot that should be separate from each other on the map to hide in, with the same time length of 2 minutes as well as for seeking time which is 10 minutes. The Prime Hiders will not become seekers once found, but instead the seekers must hide with one of them when they find one.

Bounty
Every participant playing this game mode will need to roll before the start of the round even if they've already rolled for Prime Seeker, because those rolls can be converted into points depending on what you've achieved in the round, which you can look under scorings to find out more about it. The ones with the low rolls will have other bounties that can be awarded to all the seekers that will give them advantages on finding the players. There should be 8 of them, which I will list them below:
8 - 15 seconds
7 - Allowed to use Jumping boots and Climbing boots
6 - 30 seconds
5 - Hints at the next minute
4 - 45 seconds added
3 - Enable Teleporting
2 - Enable Flying
1 - 75 seconds added

It is possible for Bounty Mode to go on for more than 10 minutes during seeking time since finding hiders with low rolls could add more time. The time will still go on for 10 minutes, and then the added time will start counting down to continue the round. If someone with a 5 is found then all hiders must prepare for giving out a hint at the next minute I announce or else you will lose points if you don't.

Bonus Round
The helpers who are ingame, including me (The Host), will now play in this round with the participants. At the start of the round, it will be Normal Mode for most of the time. All of us will be hiding around the town by finding a spot for 2 minutes while all participants stay in the fountain at the University, and afterwards it will be your job for each of you individually to find as many of us as you can. How this will work exactly is whenever a participant finds one of the helpers they won't become a seeker but instead they will stay in their spot and let the rest of the participants find them, while you find the rest of the helpers that you haven't found yet. If you do find any of us, you can announce it in local chat or you can whisper to the one you found and you will be listed down from that helper. The round will go on for 8 minutes and hints from the helpers will be given at 4 minutes and then at 2 minutes everyone can fly, teleport, backwards bunny hop and use climbing/jumping boots, A.K.A Chaos Mode.

Scorings:
Knowing how to earn these points will help you climb up the leaderboard, but you can also lose points as well if you've broken any rules which will cost you your place. Here's how you can earn or lose points from each of the game modes in this Tournament:

Normal/Chaos
Earnings:
  • Hidden on each minute that passes
  • Hidden until the end of the round
  • Being the last hider
  • Found a hider as a seeker
Losses:
  • Haven't rolled
  • Not being present in the game as a hider
  • Haven't given out a hint on each minute after 3 minutes remaining while still hidden
  • Fall off the map
As a hider, if you are found you would earn points and you'll get even more points if you are found after most hiders have been found. For example: if you are the 6th hider found you would have more points than the 1st to 5th hiders who were found, but you would have less points than the ones who were found from 7th to last.

Snuggle Pile
Prime Hiders will earn a huge amount of points when picked, but during the round, they will lose a small fraction for each seeker that finds them. The seekers will earn points if they find one of the Prime Hiders and will keep earning more after each minute that passes.

Bounty
The number you rolled from the start of the round will be bounties converted into points, but they can only be earned or taken by the following:
  • Hidden until the end of the round
  • Found a hider
  • Winning a round as a Prime Seeker
You'll still earn points like in Normal and Chaos Mode, with the addition of earning some if you were found as a hider after 10 minutes have passed if there's more time been added. For seekers, they will earn less points when finding a hider but they will still earn some from the bounties of each of the hiders they found.

Bonus Round
All helpers give you the same amount of points if you find any of them, but those points are much less than you gain in Normal Mode. However, you'll also earn bonus points depending on how many minutes are remaining. Those bonus points will decrease as the minutes go by and they'll decrease more at 4 minutes when hints are given, and 2 minutes when it's Chaos Mode. There are no extra points given depending on the order of who found which helper first.

All the results and screenshots will be posted under this thread. We wish you all the best of luck in this event. Have fun!

The Map:
Spoiler: Map of Cloudopolis Town • show

Cloudopolis will be the only map we'll be playing on. The image above shows only the lower town of Cloudopolis, including the Stadium and the Flight Academy, and also the shortcut to the inside of the Flight School building shown in the bottom-right corner. Speaking of which, the dotted lines show where each of the shortcut portals are connecting when you enter one of them. Outside the lines around the town marked in blue are out-of-bounds for hiding, so please keep in mind that if you're hiding you are to stay within those borders.

There are a few disallowed spots inside the borders of the town, including the Stadium and the Flight Academy, where you shouldn't hide, unless flying or teleporting are enabled as well as equipping Climbing boots, Jumping boots or Enchanted Ice Skates. These place are:
  • The hoops around the Flight Academy
  • The upper floors of the Flight School's building
  • The secret cave under the shortcut portal to the stadium
We'll need confirmation of how you got to your hiding spot if we are suspicious that you might have flown or teleported to one.

This is the reverse version of Normal Mode. Before the start of the round every participant must roll this time for being a Prime Hider. We might have multiple Prime Hiders if there are over 16 participants who are ingame. All of the seekers will stay at Town Hall while our Prime Hiders will find a spot that should be separate from each other on the map to hide in, with the same time length of 2 minutes as well as for seeking time which is 10 minutes.

Bonus Round
The helpers who are ingame, except for me (The Host), will now play in this round with the participants. We're giving everyone a ghost costume for when you become a seeker during this round, because this bonus round will be like Wild Mode. If you don't know what that is, it's where the hiders can run around during seeking time and the seekers will need to tag the hiders with pillow barrage. The round starts with the helpers as the seekers where they will stay at the Forge and every participant will have 1 minute to spread around the map. The seekers will then begin to chase after any hiders they can find for 8 minutes and try to tag them with pillow barrage, and they can be allowed to use the tab key to auto select the hiders just to make hiding a little pointless. If you are tagged be sure to put on the ghost costume we gave you so that the other participants will know you're seeking. And if you do tag one of the hiders, type "Tagged" first, instead of "Found", and then type the hider's name.

Bonus Round
Depending on the order when you were tagged, compared to the other hiders, you would earn more points than the ones before you but have less than the ones after, but unlike the previous rounds more points will be given. You can also earn points for each minute that has passed if you have not been tagged yet, but if you are tagged you'll still have the chance to earn points as seekers by tagging the other hiders. If the remaining hiders have made it through the round without being tagged they'll all have 1 place above the last participant that was tagged and will earn additional points.

All the results and screenshots will be posted under this thread. We wish you all the best of luck in this event. Have fun!

Welcome, everyone!

So here we are again with another Hide and Seek Tournament. If you were at last year's Tournament, you may remember that it didn't go good since there was a lack of progress being made in managing the scores. However this time, we have helpers tagging along with the event to assist me with the scores and to make sure that we can finish this Tournament all the way to the end, easily and successfully.

Sweet and Elite Hide and Seek, created by DeceptiveCadence A.K.A Fancy Frosting, has been going on for about 3 years now from September 22nd of 2017 as a weekly source of entertainment to all ponies in Legends of Equestria. We now want to run a Tournament for you to join in and have fun with us.

I'm Optic Rainfall the host of this event, and here are my helpers:
Autumn Dawn, Cogsworth Wingthrop, Cosmic Feather, Queen Chrystaliana, Red Velvet and Wind Spray.

The whole idea for this Tournament is to compete for fun with one another, to bring out your best and to win prizes at the end. You'll have a chance to be titled the winner of this year's Hide and Seek Tournament if you succeed in taking 1st place. Fair play is a must, so we won't allow any cheating throughout the game.

These will go to the top 6 participants with the highest scores.

Be sure to tell your friends about it if they want to join, because applications will end before the event can start, so you can't join in once it begins.

Participation sheet:

Schedule:
Date: September 26th, 2020
Gathering Time: Saturday @ 4:30pm EST / 8:30pm GMT
Official Time: Saturday @ 5:00pm EST / 9:00pm GMT
Server: Amareicas
Location: Ponydale
Starting Area: Town Hall
Game modes: Normal, Chaos, Snuggle Pile and Bounty + Bonus Round

Guide:
While you're ingame I'll announce in global chat every 5 minutes about where we are starting at 4:30pm EST, which is at Town Hall in Ponydale, and which room we will be in, so be sure to check on the top left corner of your screen. The participants will need to show up in between gathering time and the official time so that we can mark you down on the scoresheets to acknowledge that you are playing in the Tournament. There will be some quick reminders about how we play during the rounds of the game around the start, some of which will help my helpers when working on the scoresheet.

At official time, which is 5:00pm EST, we will begin the Tournament with our 1st round which will be Normal Mode, and then go in order with Chaos, Snuggle Pile and Bounty Mode and then lastly we'll go into Bonus Round. All of those rounds will take place only in Ponydale and one round for each game mode. We'll be having a 5-10 minute break after Chaos or Snuggle Pile. The overall time expectancy to play all of these rounds through to the end is under 2 hours.

After we've played all 5 rounds we'll end the event by announcing the top scorers who came in 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd, and 1st place, and also a mystery prize to the player with the most hiders found, then me and the helpers will give out the prizes to each of them. Lastly, I will give a huge thanks to all my helpers for making this possible and then we'll have a group screenshot altogether at Town Hall to finish up.

Gameplay:
Throughout the whole game, you are to stay in local chat to follow everything that goes on during each round. You are to stay at Town Hall where I am before each round can begin and after they finish.

Before the start of each round, every participant must roll a 20-sided dice using the command: !roll1d20 so that we can pick the ones with the highest rolls as our Prime Seekers. Depending on how many participants will show up at the Tournament, we'll have multiple Prime Seekers if there are over 15 of us there. The Prime Seekers will face against the wall of Town Hall once they've been picked while the other participants, who will all be hiders, stand by near them until I give the countdown for the round to begin.

As the round begins, the hiders will have 2 minutes to spread around the map to find a spot where they can hide in while the Prime Seekers will stay at Town Hall still facing against the wall.

  • At 3 minutes remaining, all hiders who have not been found yet must give out a hint on their whereabouts, and when doing so in the chat, type in the word "Hint:" first so that one of my helpers is able to find it easily and then type in what your hint is along with it. Each minute that goes by without you giving out a hint will cost you to lose points.

The round will be declared over when all hiders on the map have been found or when 10 minutes of seeking time have passed, and then we'll all gather at Town Hall again to start a new round with a different game mode.

Rules:
These rules will help keep the game in a fair condition when everyone is playing. If any of these rules are broken by one of the participants during each round they will receive penalties that could cost them their place on the scoresheet, so please read through each of them carefully.
  • No flying, teleporting or backwards hopping.
  • No using jumping boots, climbing boots, ice skates, and any equipment that can boost your stats including crafted armor with harmonies, lanterns and the dandelion bracelet. Food items are also prohibited.
  • No changing rooms
  • No using the train station or the portals that transport you to another map. Portals such as the ones that take you to The Mines, Sugarcane Corner, Carousel Boutique, etc.
  • No using any commands like /faint, /cinematicmode, /playercollision, /stuck, etc.
  • No using any glitches that allowed you to go through walls or the ground.
  • No hiding in water or in places that are disallowed or out-of-bounds. See under maps to know these areas.
  • Do not move out of your spot right after 2 minutes of hiding time as a hider until you are found.

  • You are fine to climb up walls without the use of the climbing boots.
  • The commands that can be allowed use are /sit, /lay and /sleep for when you want to hide in your spot. And if you're somewhere where you can't move or if you accidentally glitched under the map, whisper to me and I'll permit you to type /stuck.
  • Shortcut portals that take you to places while still on the map are allowed to use. However, you won't find any in Ponydale.
  • The game modes below can determine whether the rules above can change, so read through them to learn more.
  • The 2nd round which is Chaos Mode will be the only time when the participants who have already rolled for Prime Seeker will not have to roll again, since in Snuggle Pile Mode you will have to roll for being a Prime Hider, and in Bounty Mode you'll need to roll for how much your bounty is worth.

The Map
Spoiler: Map of Ponydale • show

As I have said the only map we'll be playing on is Ponydale. The image above shows nearly the whole of Ponydale with buildings and areas marked all around the map including Town Hall, our starting area. The lines around the town show the invisible barriers that are considered out-of-bounds for hiding, and there is a glitch that if you stand right next to those barriers then, to others, your pony character would vanish, so make sure to stay about 5 meters away from them.

There are a few disallowed spots inside the borders of the town where you shouldn't hide, unless flying or teleporting are enabled as well as equipping Climbing boots and Jumping boots. These place are:
  • The top floor and the roof of Town Hall
  • The attic inside the Auction House
  • The belfray and the roof of the Clocktower
We'll need confirmation of how you got to your hiding spot if we are suspicious that you might have flown or teleported to one.

Game modes:
Here you will know how each of these game modes are played for each round.

Normal
The gameplay and the rules are all there to explain how this will work.

Chaos
Both hiders and seekers are allowed to do flying, teleporting and backwards hopping and they can also equip their climbing boots and jumping boots. However they're still not allowed to use any items or equipment that boost their stats. The disallowed spots are now free to hide in, but you still cannot hide in the water or in the out-of-bounds areas.

Snuggle Pile
This is the reverse version of Normal Mode. Before the start of the round, every participant must roll this time for being a Prime Hider. We might have multiple Prime Hiders if there are over 15 participants who are ingame. All of the seekers will stay at Town Hall while our Prime Hiders will find a spot that should be separate from each other on the map to hide in, with the same time length of 2 minutes as well as for seeking time which is 10 minutes.

Bonus Round
Me and the helpers who are ingame will now play in this round with the participants. This round will be like Snuggle Pile, but no one will have to roll before the start because we will be the hiders and all of you will be seeking to find one of us. We will hide for 2 minutes while all of you stay at Town Hall, and until then you'll have to find us with only 5 minutes of seeking time but we'll make sure to give out a hint at 3 minutes remaining. You'll still earn points at the end of the round if you found one of us, which you can find out under scorings.

  • Being the last hider hidden
  • Found a hider as a seeker
Losses:
  • Haven't rolled
  • Not being present in the game as a hider
  • Haven't given out a hint on each minute after 3 minutes remaining while still hidden

Bonus Round
The points that are earned from me and the helpers will vary if you managed to find one of us, and by the end of the round, we will all roll a 50-sided dice three times and they will be converted into points which will be given to you, but it depends on who you found, so you'll need decide which of us you want to find.

Results, along with screenshots, will be posted under this thread. Good luck in this event and I hope you have a fun time playing!

Hello and welcome to the Sweet and Elite Hide and Seek Tournament of 2019, the concept of the weekly Hide and Seek sessions held on Saturdays, developed by DeceptiveCadance AKA Fancy Frosting. September 22nd marks the 2nd Anniversary of the event, of course due to some scheduling of other events in the game, the date has been pushed back to the 28th. You'll be joined by the host, yours truly, Optic Rainfall, along with my co-hosts/helpers, Wind Spray and Cogsworth Wingthrop. No need to ask for an invitation, everyone's invited to play!

Our main focus is to make sure that those who are competing will deserve every bit of experience and enjoyment from this event, but respect and fair play will need to be shown from every one of you. Your involvement is what we need to get this Tournament up and running, and in return we'll be crediting you with your pony name on the list of competitors along with some screenshots taken of all of you during the event. All players who are participating will be competing for the prizes and the glory. Are you eager to claim the title of Hide and Seek Champion?

If you're interested in participating in the Tournament, you'll need to understand how to play and what the rules are. See under Guide, Gameplay and Rules, as well as other information you can read, including Game modes, Scorings, Locations, etc. It'll take a long time to explain everything when the game starts, so we expect you to read this thread carefully and remember most of the important details.

Guide

  • The Tournament takes place in the Amareicas server in Ponydale at Town Hall where we are gathered. Wherever you are, be sure to check on Global chat to see which room we are in.
  • You may want to arrive 30 minutes beforehand if you want to compete. Once you're at Town Hall, come on to the veranda (where Check List is) and I'll sign you up on the list of competitors so that I can keep track of your scores. I'll be sure to /whisper to you once I've done so.
  • There are a total of 9 rounds throughout the game with 5 locations to play on, along with 5 game modes. On the first round, Normal mode will be played for just the first round in Ponydale, and then there will be a vote on which game mode we should play next on the same location for the next two rounds. Afterwards we'll change locations and vote for a different game mode - other than the ones that have already been played - for another 2 rounds. The process repeats until we conclude on Round 9 in The Crystal Kingdom.
  • The 4 locations that we'll be playing on are, in order:
  • Ponydale
  • Cantermore Town
  • Cantermore Castle
  • The Crystal Kingdom
  • To learn more about them, go down to Locations below.
  • In The Crystal Kingdom, when we finish the last round of the Tournament, go up to the top of the Palace and wait around the fountain. The scores from each player will be tallied up from all rounds, but it'll take a long time considering how many players are competing.
  • We'll be announcing who is placed 3rd, 2nd and 1st by the highest score counts. Those players will be called up to the stairs (Where Prince Overwatch is), and they'll receive the prizes they've earned from me and my co-hosts/helpers.
  • We'll finally end this event with a group screenshot around the fountain.

Notes:
  • It is to believe that the length of the whole event will last for over 3 hours.
  • When we have finished 2 rounds for each game mode in a location, we'll remain at the starting area while one of my co-hosts/helpers travel to the next location (Except Cantermore Castle) to determine what room we'll be playing in, then I can announce our move.
  • Once we move to a different location, we will wait for 5 minutes for everyone to gather at the starting area
  • We'll vote for a new gamemode once we are all gathered at another location.

Gameplay
Be sure to stay in Local chat to keep in touch throughout the game.

  • In order to start each round there will be 4-5 seekers who need to be picked. For 3 minutes, everyone must roll a 30-sided dice by typing the command: "!roll1d30" once I've announced what round number we're on. The ones who have rolled the highest numbers will be picked as the Prime Seekers, the rest who aren't picked will be hiding.
  • Once those seekers have been picked there will be a 1 minute wait time until the round starts, and they must have their pony staring into a wall at the starting area, and no peeking behind your backs. We all need to stay at the starting area until we can begin the round.
  • The Round starts with 2 minutes on the timer for hiders to spread out and look for a spot to hide in, while the seekers remain at the starting area. When the hiders have found their spot, they must sleep/sit/lie down in them and they mustn't move from that spot for the rest of the round or until a seeker finds them.
  • Once the 2 minutes are up the seekers will begin looking for hiders around the map with 10 minutes on the timer. When the seekers find each hider, they must call out the name of the pony they found, and this pony too will be seeking with them.
  • On the 3 minute mark, the remaining hiders who are still hidden in their spot must give out a hint on where they're hiding.
  • When 10 minutes are up or when every hider has been found, the round will be over, and everyone will come back to the starting area to start a new round.

Notes:
  • During each round, I will inform you all on how many minutes are left for hiding and seeking time to keep track of.
  • For hints, it needs to be useful and relevant but don't make it too obvious. Eg. "I'm west of Cantermore"; "Somewhere around Town Hall"; "A spot where there's water nearby"; etc.
  • If there are 30+ players competing, then there will be 5 seekers to pick for each round.
  • The players who have the highest rolls may need to roll again if there's a draw unless there are no more Prime Seekers to pick.
  • The gameplay will be played out differently if we're playing on different Game modes.
  • If the server happens to restart, the timer will pause and we all have to switch rooms. The timer will resume when everyone is present again.

Rules
We expect everypony to play fairly, and we hope that whoever wins aren't suspected of cheating. Breaking these rules will result in you losing points (See below Penalties under Scorings).

  • No flying, teleporting or B-hopping.
  • No using commands (Except for /sleep) during each round.
  • No going into portals that will take you to different zones. Eg. Inside The University, Carousel Boutique, The Mines, Ponydale Library, The Crystal Palace, The Crystal Stadium, etc. And no taking the train as well.
  • No changing servers.
  • No equipping your Jumping boots, Climbing boots or Ice skates.
  • No tagging players.
  • No hiding on mountain and water terrain.
  • No hiding in a spot where you can glitch into.
  • No hiding outside the hiding boundaries, or disallowed spots that are inbounds (See below Maps to know where the boundary lines are for each map).
  • No using misleading hints.
  • For hiders, no telling seekers where another hider is hiding.
  • Everyone has to roll the dice each round for Prime Seekers, but if you've already started out as one once in one round you won't have to roll again, unless in Snuggle Pile, or in Jumble Mode when Snuggle Pile is added, you'll have to roll for Prime Hider.

Notes:
  • I'm not sure if everyone knows, but it's okay to jump on top of building and showing off your parkour skills. Climbing up the walls of buildings is pretty much accepted as well.
  • B-hopping is where you sprint backwards and spam the jump key.
  • Mountain terrain is that purple surface you would see on the mountains of Cantermore.
  • Water will prevent you from sleeping, sitting and lying down, so you are not allowed to hide in it. It's still not allowed even if you actually found a way to do so on top of the water.
  • You are allowed to enter portals that take you to different floors of buildings, unless they take you out-of-bounds; ones that are more transparent than the ones that take you to different locations.
  • Breaking the rules continuously could earn you a disqualification for the rest of the Tournament.

Game modes
Here you will know how each of these game modes are played for each round:

Normal
A standard game mode that follows the Gameplay and the Rules.

Chaos
Flying, teleporting and B-hopping are allowed for both hiders and seekers as well as equipping the Climbing boots, Jumping boots and Ice skates. Rule 1 and 5 will be unaccounted.

Jumble
In each round, the game mode is played different. Specifically some perks will be added. These include the following:
1 - Double points
2 - Flying enabled
3 - Teleportation enabled
4 - Add 30 seconds of hiding
5 - Subtract 30 seconds of hiding
6 - Add 1 minute of seeking
7 - Subtract 1 minute of seeking
8 - No hints
9 - Hints on the 5 minute mark
10 - Snuggle Pile

There are 3 dice that will be rolled me, Wind Spray and Cogsworth Wingthrop, using the command: !roll1d10 by adding these perks for each round.

Bounty
Those who have low rolls will receive bounties. When a seeker finds a hider with a bounty on them all seekers will be awarded something in each round. The number the hiders have rolled determines what bounties they have, other than rolling an 11 or higher. The following are:
10 - 20 seconds added for seeking
9 - The Host becomes a Seeker
8 - Instant hints
7 - 40 seconds added for seeking
6 - 60 seconds added for seeking
5 - Enable Teleporting
4 - Enable Flying
3 - 80 seconds added for seeking
2 - 100 seconds added for seeking
1 - Double points

Snuggle Pile
There is only one hider for each round, the Prime Hider, no matter how many players there are, and the rest are seekers. The objective for the seekers is to find the spot of where the hider is, and then they must sit/lay/sleep in that exact spot but not near it. The Prime Hider won't become a seeker when found and he/she shouldn't move anywhere for the whole 10 minutes.

Notes:
  • In Jumble mode, if two/three out of the three rolls ended up with the same number, that perk will be doubled/tripled (unless that number is 1, 2, 3, 8, 9 or 10). And if we get two rolls with 8 and 9, that means hints will be back on the 3 minute mark.
  • For Bounty mode, If 10 minutes have passed and there's still time that's been added, hiders will NOT earn any more points for each minute mark afterwards, but they can still earn points when the round has ended. And for hints if 7 minutes have passed from the start of the round you must give out your hint, and even when there's time added you will even lose points on each minute afterwards.
  • Hider can't use their bounties. So if you have a bounty that enables teleporting, you yourself can't teleport.
  • For Snuggle Pile, player collision or /pc will need to be turned off during the game. We don't want to see a tower of ponies...
  • Only the Prime Hider in Snuggle Pile should give out the hint on the 3 minute mark.

Scorings
You'll be able to climb up the leaderboard by collecting points by doing yourself some good deeds during each round. However, breaking rules will result in penalties which you will lose points.

Earning points
You'll be awarded points if you've/you're:
(Normal/Chaos/Jumble/Bounty Mode):
  • Still hidden on each minute mark | +10 points
  • Finished a round without being found | +30 points
  • The last pony hiding | +20 points
  • Found a hider | +20 points
  • Found the last hider | +25 points
  • Found all hiders in a round | +15 points (For Prime Seekers only)

(Snuggle Pile Mode):
  • Found the Prime Hider | +30 points
  • Hidden with the Prime Hider on each minute marking | +10 points

For the Prime Hider, he/she will earn 150 points minus 150 multiplied by the percentage of how many players found the spot over how many players there are currently playing. An example of the equation:
   150 - 150 x 13/65
= 150 - 150 x 20% or 0.20
= 150 - 30
= 120 points
13 = How many players found the Prime Hider.
65 = How many players currently playing in-game.
I'm terribly sorry if this hurts your brain, but don't worry, I'll know exactly how many points every player will get.

Penalties
You'll lose points if you:
(Normal/Chaos/Jumble/Bounty Mode):
  • Are suspected of breaking Rules 1, 6 or 7 | -20 - -80 points
  • Are suspected of breaking Rule 2 | -30 - -50 points
  • Are absent in the Room when hiding on each minute mark, thus breaking Rules 3 or 4 | -10 points each
  • Are suspected of breaking Rule 5| -40 - 60 points
  • Are suspected of breaking Rule 6  | -50 points
  • Are suspected of breaking Rule 9 | -50 - -80 points
  • Are suspected of breaking Rule 10 | -30 - -60 points
  • Are suspected of breaking Rule 11 | -40 - -60 points
  • Haven't rolled the dice for Prime Seeker/Hider before the start of each round, thus breaking Rule 12 | -15 points
  • Haven't given out a hint on each minute after the 3 minutes mark. | -20 points each

(Snuggle Pile Mode):
  • As the Prime Hider, are suspected of breaking Rules 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, or 8 | -100 - -180 points

Notes:
  • You'll still earn points even if you've broken some rules. Eg. You'll lose 10 points on each minute mark by breaking Rule 3 or 4 but you'll still earn 10 points if you're still hidden, which means you won't earn any points every minute.
  • You won't lose points for not voting for a new game mode.
  • You'll earn 10 points at the 0 minute mark which concluded the round plus 30 more points, both for when you're still hidden.
  • The seekers who finds the last pony hiding will earn 20 points plus 25 making it 45 points.
  • It is possible to commit two or more penalties at the same time which will even cost you more points.
  • As a seeker, you must identify and call out the hider's name to earn points, only if you see their pony or gamer tag.
  • If you are still absent as a hider until the end of a round, you won't earn your 30 points.

Locations
There are map references for each one of these locations where they show hiding boundary lines (Except for Ponydale, you can hide anywhere there!), and the names of some buildings and places that can help you indicate where the disallowed hiding spot are. The disallowed spots will be listed below each location. They are inbounds, but they can't be reached without breaking Rules 1 or 7, but if you are allowed to fly, teleport or B-hop (Only Rule 1) then those hiding spots will be allowed.

Ponydale

Spoiler: Ponydale map • show

You can hide anywhere around Ponyville, even on the edge of the borders where you can't go any further.

  • The Bell Tower's Belfry and above
  • The very top of the Fountain Tree

Disallowed hiding spots:
  • The roofs of the Pinnacle and the two front towers of the Crystal Palace

Notes:
  • Although Cloudopolis is also a location we play in the weekly Hide and Seek sessions, I'm afraid it's big to play for the Tournament even with Chaos Mode.
  • There are a few more hiding spots that could be disallowed but we will need confirmation on them if they are accessible without breaking Rules 1 or 7.
  • It is technically possible to get on top of Town Hall, but the method of getting up there is considered a glitch. Any other spots you can get to by breaking Rule 7 is disallowed.
  • For Cantermore Town and Crystal Kingdom, if you want to come straight back to the starting area, type: /stuck.

That's all the info I can give to help you out. I wish you the best of luck in this Tournament. Results, along with screenshots, will be posted under this thread.

Upcoming event Information
Follow this thread carefully since it'll be updated every week to see when and where I'll be hosting next.

The next Sweet and Elite Hide and Seek session:

Date: Match 23rd, 2024
Time: Saturday @ 5:00 PM EDT / 9:00 PM GMT (*)
Server: Amareicas
Location: White Tail Park
Starting Area: Near Ponydale Portal
Game Mode: Wild
Host: Optic Rainfall
Co-host(s): Wind Spray/Cogsworth Wingthrop

Gameplay

  • There is only one seeker for each round and the rest are hiders. The number of seekers will vary due to the number of players. For 18-29 players there will be 2 seekers, and for 30+ players there will be 3.
  • For each round, everyone starts off by rolling a 20-sided dice. Type in the following command: !roll 1d20 to roll. Whoever gets the highest roll will become the seeker for the round.
  • While everyone is at the starting area, the host will commence a countdown in around 30 seconds after the seeker has been chosen for the round to begin.
  • Once the round starts, all hiders will have 2 minutes to find their hiding spots, while the seeker remains at the starting area.
  • When 2 minutes are up, all hiders must not move anywhere else and they must be sitting/laying/sleeping in their hiding spot so that the seekers can confirm that you're playing the game.
  • The seeker will then have 10 minutes to find all the hiders until time runs out.
  • When a seeker has spotted one of the hiders, they must call out the player's name and they too shall become a seeker.
  • When 3 minutes are remaining, every hider must give a useful hint to the seekers on their whereabouts. Don't make it too obvious.
  • The round will be over after 10 minutes are up or when every hider has been found, and everyone will head back to the starting area to begin a new round.
  • After finishing the first 3 rounds, we'll vote for a different game mode. At random there will only be 3 to choose from and we must vote for one (There's also a possible vote where we can stay in the game mode that's currently been played), and they can't be the ones that have been played on last week's Hide and Seek. We'll then vote to change locations or stay on the map we're currently playing.
  • After playing 6 rounds of Hide and Seek, I'll pick an area for where we can all take a group screenshot to finish off for the week.

Note: When the server is suddenly counting down to restart, change servers quickly. Don't go anywhere! The timer will pause until everyone is back in the game, then we can all continue playing the round.

Rules

  • No flying or teleporting.
  • No double jumping, diving, charge jumping or dashing as Earth Ponies.
  • All hiding spots must be accessible without the use of unique abilities regarding of different races.
  • No using Jumping Boots, Climbing Boots or Ice Skates in-game.
  • No going into instances interiors, like the portals that shows a loading screen when entering and sends you into a seperate room. These include: Carousel Boutique, Canterlot Academy, Sugarcane Corner, The Mines, Evershade Forest, etc.
  • No changing servers.
  • No performing any glitches.
  • No using the cinematic camera command.
  • No tagging ponies (Clicking your cursor on the players).
  • No backwards bunny hopping, but regular bunny hopping is allowed.
  • There are hiding boundaries on some maps that you must stay within, and you are not allowed to have your hiding spots anywhere outside the boundary lines where it is out-of-bounds. For the maps that don't have out-of-bounds areas, you are free to hide anywhere. See below of where the boundary lines are for these locations:

Spoiler: Cantermore Town/Castle, Crystal Kingdom and Cloudopolis Town Boundaries • show

Game modes:

Normal:
A standard game where the gameplay and all the rules above are applied.

Earth Pony:
An Earth Pony only game where abilities such as double jumping, diving, charge jumping and dashing are allowed.

Pegasus:
A Pegasus only game where flying is enabled, so make sure you have one. The first three rounds will take place in Cloudopolis.
All hiders must be sitting/laying/sleeping in their hiding spot, still. You are not allowed to fly while hiding.

Unicorn:
A Unicorn only game where teleportation is enabled, so make sure you have one. The first three rounds will take place in The Crystal Kingdom.

Snuggle Pile:
There is only one hider for each round, no matter how many players there are, and the rest are seekers.
The objective is for the seeker to find the spot of where the hider is and they must sit/lay/sleep in that exact spot, and not near it. The hider won't become a seeker when found and they shouldn't move anywhere for the whole 10 minutes.

Chaos:
Flying, Teleporting, and all Earth Pony abilities like dashing, double jumping, etc. are allowed as well as equipping jumping boots or climbing boots. It wouldn't matter what pony race you bring.

Jumble:
Each round can vary from how the game is played, by rolling the dice 2 times to change the rules and gameplay. Specifically the following:

1 - Enable Flying
2 - Enable Teleporting
3 - Enable Earth Pony Abilities
4 - Add 30 seconds of hiding
5 - Subtract 30 seconds of hiding
6 - Add 1 minute of seeking
7 - Subtract 1 minute of seeking
8 - No hints
9 - Hints at 5 minutes remaining
10 - Snuggle Pile

If you rolled the same number in the next one/two rounds in the same location, add 1 to the roll.

Bounty:
As you know, at the start of each round the player with the highest roll will become a seeker. Now in this mode, those who have very low rolls will receive bounties. When a seeker finds a hider with a bounty on them all seekers will be awarded with something in each round. The number the hiders have rolled determines what bounties they have, other than rolling a 9 or higher. The following are:

8 - 30 seconds added for seeking
7 - The Host becomes a Seeker
6 - Instant hints
5 - 60 seconds added for seeking
4 - Enable Teleporting
3 - Enable Flying
2 - 90 seconds added for seeking
1 - Enable Earth Pony Abilities

Note that, if two or more players tied for seeker their next roll won't be counted for a bounty.

Non-stop:
It's just like normal mode but on each two locations the game goes for 42 minutes! The game starts off with 2 minutes of hiding and 40 minutes will continue on afterwards when the first seeking time starts. All hiders must give out a hint 5 minutes after every seeking time starts, and another hint 5 minutes after. If everyone has been found, the last one hiding will become the seeker and everyone around the map will become hiders again. The seeker must stay in the spot where he/she was hiding and the game continues giving 1 minute for everyone to quickly hide in their spots (so don't go back to the starting area). Once 40 minutes are up or if every hider has been found under 5 minutes remaining, we come back to the starting area and choose a new location.

Wild:
Instead of hiding in a spot for the rest of the round, hiders are now free to go wherever they want anytime during seeking time. This is the only mode that is compatible for White Tail Park.
At the start of the round, hiders will only have 1 minute to spread out around the map, but they won't have to sit/lay down/sleep in a spot once time is up, however, it is optional. Two seekers will be picked at each round. They need to tag the hiders by throwing a pillow at them so that they will become seekers. Just remember who's seeking with you since the hiders will be running around the place as well, or wear something on your head whenever you're a seeker.

Fireworks:
Everyone will be given 3 types of fireworks on this mode, which are normal fireworks, firework rises and firework trails. While you are hiding you will need to release 1 normal firework/firework rise each on the 7th, 5th, 3rd and 2nd minute, then on the last minute launch a firework trail. These fireworks are meant to give away your location depending on whether the seeker is close by or where you're hiding, and because of that no hints will be given to the seekers during each round.

Pursuit:
Much like Wild Mode but instead there's only 1 one hider and everyone else are seekers. The hider will have to wear a ghost costume before the round can begin, and when it starts, they'll only have 1 minute to go anywhere on the map, and during seeking time they are still allowed to run around, avoiding the seekers as much as possible. Every 2 minutes starting at 9 minutes remaining of seeking time, the hider will need to release a candy shower over them, which would give the seekers a clue to where you were last. For the seekers, they will need to find and tag the hider with a pillow, and if successful, they can come back to the starting area but the hider will still be running around the map avoiding the other seekers who haven't tagged them yet.

Combined Modes:
In progress...

We will be posting screenshots down below every week along with everyone's names who has played with us in our Hide and Seek event. We'd appreciate everypony's comments and suggestions and hope that Sweet and Elite Hide and Seek™ may enhance your Legends of Equestria experience.
