Stole my thread?
Oh, IT. IS. ON. >:(
Nah, I kid. ^-^

I still can't bring myself to start up a new ME3 save. The game is SO good, pretty much perfect, yet knowing that in the end it amounts to absolutely nothing...
:(
Have been playing the multiplayer a lot for the past week or so. Still no asari adept...

XD Im still hangin around ME1 having stupid moments XD
Last night I was on the mission to rescue Liara, and idk what the heck I did, but I managed to flip the entire Mako over and it coincidentally rolled into the lava pit near the beginning of the mission XD. That and I even manage to flip the entire Mako over in one of those random "Land and clear" planets. Classic examples of how much of a horrible driver I am XD

I beat ME3 and i heard that the majority of the fans weren't happy with it.Sure they could have included some more cut scenes like what you have done in the game but over all i enjoyed the ending.I especially enjoyed how the two were talking with calm music and the war was raging in the background...dunno why it reminded me of X3:Reunion which is a space sim...go figure.
Title: Re: Mass Effect
Post by: McSleuthburger on 2012 Mar 20, 15:32:16
in my opinion people didnt like it because it didnt tell you what happened (you didnt get closure)
it made people use their imaginations....and some people dont like that
I mean it isint going to be my favorite and most memorable ending but whatevs
ill be fine

Shame I couldn't get into 1; There's something about 1 that I really didn't like.

I loved the last talk with Anderson, it was so sad and wonderful :')
It's just that everything that happened after that is dumb.
Everything out of that stupid child's mouth is complete garbage, messes with the lore of the universe and essentially boils down to this:

I am like the only person in the entire world who is satisfied with the ending of Mass Effect 3. It fit my character perfectly. Aside from that, I'm kinda disappointed that ME3 was going to be the last game in the Mass Effect universe, which by the way, is one of the best written universes I've seen in a game yet. (Aside from Elder Scrolls.)

I suggest those who haven't beaten ME3 to not look at the spoiler.

Spoiler: show
For me, the Red ending, was the classic creation tale, it was also so similar to the ending of Battlestar Galactica that I didn't have a problem with it at all. The Normandy part, I enjoyed mainly because it's something that gets the player to thinking (or at least those of us who enjoy speculation) of how life was after the Reapers.

the red ending did give you the scene were you see a person in N7 armor (maybe Sheppard) taking a breathe which I found interesting
I mean in the other two endings he died, since ME3 was supposed to wrap up the trilogy I dont see why they gave you that little bit at the end

I don't see how they could possibly make another ME game set after the events of ME3, though... :(

Ugh.
Was about to post a rant about the nonsensical ending again.
About the lack of closure.
And plot holes.
And et cetera...
Have decided against it.
I'm going to try and keep my negativity out of this thread.

Title: Re: Mass Effect

If they make another Mass Effect game, it will be set in the same universe, possibly allowing the player to play as a different character during the Time that Shepard is around, or during the First Contact Wars (Which took place thirty years before the events of Mass Effect 1.)

There is PLENTY of History in the Mass Effect Universe to form a game around.

Finaly finished with my Mass Effect 1 Renegade playthrough   :D

Gotta say though, the ending was pretty dark and epic at the same time. I mean, let the council die, let humans rise up as the dominant, feared race in the entire galaxy. XD Still, gotta love Renegade Shepard at times though.

Renegade (as I see it) is the "get it done, and do it right, no matter the cost." While Paragon (again, as I see it) is "By the book."

XD still, I really, really love to see Shepard get mad.

Well, thank goodness I started renegade on ME2, because I was getting bored without it's biotics XD.
Had troubles between Soldier, Adept, or Vanguard cause I love biotics, but I kinda wanted to have more weapons than a pistol and a machine gun to start off XD. That and I really love playing around with the sniper now. Oh well, In the end I picked Vanguard, and at least I get a geth shotgun :D

I don't mind it too much, as long as I'm not playing with complete idiots.
If they don't run off alone and keep getting killed, try to help with objectives and don't cost us full extraction, it's all good.
It's not so bad on bronze if you're playing with incompetent people but in silver and especially gold matches, it can be a huge problem.

Unless the upcoming free ending DLC fixes lore breaking and such, I won't be getting Mass Effect 3.
ME2 wasn't all that great to me, such to the point that I never finished it. After all, who in their right mind changes from a heat system (that rapidly cools) to AMMO? That there was enough to tear me out of the game. I understand that it 'allows you to shoot more' and how 'ammo is plentiful' but if you think about it, they used to have guns that used a solid block of some material (can't remember its name) that had a chip sliced off and propelled at high speeds. THOUSANDS of shots each.
Although I never did play any of the DLC, isn't there one in ME2 where you blow up a Mass Relay? *super nova*
I didn't know they sent out a teleport pulse when they were wrecked instead of actually exploding with the force of a thousand suns.
-other such complaints-

So they are releasing a DLC.It was...somewhat expected from the thousands complains they got for the last 10min.
Although i liked the ending i wonder what this DLC pack will feature for the simple reason they can't continue pass the endings except with some cut scenes.

*Trainer Malkies used Revive on Mass Effect thread*

I've been watching lots of the deaths and some of the other emotional scenes from ME3 on youtube. Read the forum rules. this game is sad.
This scene in particular is heartbreaking ono
Spoiler: show

I also nearly cried at Legion's death (both variations)
and Tali's suicide
and Grunt's near-death
and Garrus' goodbye
and, of course, Anderson's death.
(Okay, I would be lying if I said that I nearly cried at the last one. Especially after listening to the extended version of the conversation. I bawled like a freaking baby.)

Anypony else tear up at any point in the game, or am I just a massive wuss?

Read the forum rules. it i need to get mass effect 3 already and wrap up my play through of it. but first would you say buying the kasumi DLC is worth it if you've already finished the main story line?

Personally, I would say that it's totally worth it because I LOVE Kasumi :D She's a brilliant character, my second favourite character in the whole series after Garrus, and her loyalty mission is tons of fun. It's a shame that you will miss out on some great (and totally lulzworthy) dialogue with her during the main game, but I think that it's still a worthwhile piece of DLC.

Quote from: dashpony94 on 2012 Apr 12, 15:40:41whatever ending they chose it can't be that bad, I'm sure it's just lame people not understanding it correctly (like 90% of the time)

I thought that too at first.
Then I finished the game.
:(
I'll shut up now.

I know that everyone has their own opinion on the ending, but I haven't seen a single argument defending the star brat that was at all convincing :\
IMO it would have been so much better if after the final conversation with Anderson, instead of the magical elevator, it let you pick the final choice from the control panel (and get rid of or change synthesis to something else because seriously, wtf?) or something...
At least then the reapers and their motives would still remain mysterious and cool and you wouldn't be left going o.O

Hmm. :c
Read the forum rules., this game was so close to being perfect. But then Hudson and Walters had to take a dump on it. I still haven't completed it since the first time and if I ever get to the end, I'll be switching it off before the magic elevator up to star brat.
Ah well, the multiplayer is still good ^-^ (my N7 level is around 560, all time that would have been spent on SP :o)
What is everypony's opinion on the extended cut?

If EC can somehow make an epic ending that is worthy and actual fits well in the ME universe, I'll possibly forgive them but properly won't buy future games till they go on-sale and they get good reviews. If it isn't I won't boycot Bioware because if they make a great product I'll suppport it, if not then I won't. Also does anyone play ME3 on the PC?

I think that, unless the extended cut is mind-blowing, I will not be buying anything Mass Effect related in the future (with the exception of the Garrus figure that is released here at the end of the month. Oh, and that Kasumi hoodie, should it ever come out *-*).

I've been promoting classes as soon as they reach level 20 because when I inevitably get fed up with multiplayer, I will have a massive war asset score in single player, hopefully enough so that I can still get the 'best' ending whilst my galactic readiness sits at 50% :)

Nah, but I have replayed ME1 10+ times (to get the perfect playthrough, and to get each playthrough to level 60) and ME2 probably about the same.

In other news, it has been hinted at that there will be vorcha as playable multiplayer characters some time in the future

"This task is an onerous one, and many of you are right to dread contact with these particular foes, but rest assured that we are prepared to reinforce your battalion with reserves. The vorcha want in, and as soon as they complete combined-arms training with our technically-skilled personnel, we will let them loose."

Not sure if want, but their battle cries are going to be flippin' hilarious
According to a leak (which may or may not be true), male quarians will be released alongside vorcha as well as something called phoenix.

Also, showed the bf this video comparing male and female Shepards' voice acting in ME3:
Spoiler: show

and he made a female Shepard. Score! :3

I hated how the multiplayer only lets you get cool soldiers by getting the Spectre packs. I still don't have a Geth because it requires either 2 bucks for the pack or four perfect bronze matches(I get creamed on anything higher). The last time I got the pack all I earned was a stupid Carnifex.

Yeah, the random pack system sucks...
What's even worse, though, is getting nothing but character cards that are already maxed when you're trying to unlock weapons :c I can't understand why they don't just let you buy what you want for credits instead of relying on dumb random packs.
The game is easier if you find friends to play with instead of just hoping you get a good team from random games :)

Oh, and the new Rebellion DLC has been confirmed. Vorcha, male quarians and ex-cerberus characters as well as 2 new maps, 3 new guns and some other stuff :3

The combat is fairly terrible but the story is great . I love the first game. If you are planning on playing ME2, playing ME1 first is a good idea. :D
You can probably pick up ME1 used for fairly cheap. I would recommend getting ME2 new as it comes with a pass that gives you free DLC :)

ME1 has the biggest Citadel. The side missions are mostly on similar maps and the combat could be better. But you aren't playing Mass Effect for those things...you are playing it for the story and roleplaying. And that is worth checking out.
