Predictions for Season 5 villain?

Any ideas on what he/she/it could be? Back story, powers, race, etc. Who knows?

As awesome as Tirik was I hope they don't revamp an old villain, I like seeing them come up with new fresh things like Sombra, Discord, Chrysalis, NightMareMoon and all...But as I said, I am NOT insulting Tirik because of all the villains he was one of my favorites.

Were they to make a NEW fresh villain I would have no idea...

Were they to revamp an old one they might take Grogar...I don't really know...

Luna has no motivation for a second betrayal. She only did it the first time because she was young and jealous. I can't see her making the same mistake twice.

The only way they can possibly surpass Tirek, at least in danger is one of two ways. To go pure Metal Gear Rising or Dragon Ball Z and just cash in the prolonged action, being allowed to forget that this is a show originally marketed towards little girls. I'm talking explosions and a lot of direct punches. Maybe compose a hardcore soundtrack. In other news, completely break the brand in two in two episodes, or even over an entire season.

The other option would be a villain with at least a valid base ideology, but a [un]arguably terrible methodology. Someone dangerous in the moral sense and challenges the values held by each of the Mane 6 making them each hesitant to confront him/her. In a from-the-fandom sense, Red Eye:



Or from outside - and on the MGR note I put myself on earlier - someone like Senator Armstrong. Or Ashur or Ceasar, continuing on the Fallout-themed path with Red Eye. But this'd be a harder core disruption of the brand from clear-cut black and white villains to morally gray villains where whatever the protagonists do could be argued as the wrong decision.

Based on Fall of the Crystall Empire headcanon where Sombra unlocked Dark Side of Princess Luna and who said that this won't happen again? Just like 1000 years ago when she become Night Maremoon once again after events of fall of the crystall empire and she was banished to the moon. Maybe some dark witchcraft accident in S5 or a new villain would unlock her dark side and she would not able to control it? But of course this is all not canon expectasions, but it may happen if writters would like that idea

The problem of the Fall of the Crystall Empire is that it's fanmade. Nothing is real but that there was a fight. Remember that in the show they used the elements to defeat him and probably was like the fight with discord. *Woosh element usage and instant banishment.* Plus in a comic that is made by the creators of MLP and by many considered canon there was about Nightmare Rarity where the forces who made Luna into Nightmare Moon made Rarity into a Nightmare. So Luna did not turn into Nightmare Moon on her own but rather was possessed byt these forces and they amplified her more dark desires. So sorry to say that Fall of the Crystall Empire animation is just a cool battle scene with little to do with canon.

If Fall of the Crystal Empire is a legitimate source to shoehorn fanservice into the show, then the Project Horizon's proposal that Nightmare Moon came about from Star Metal possession because of crazy necromancy Zebra mythos is completely legitimate.

Someone call Somber and pay him to write Season 6. We're going to make it rain boats.

There have been a LOT of stories based off of Greek Mythology in some way, so my guess is one of the monsters from Greek Myth. is going to show up.

Well, statistically the show has switched genders for each no villain. Since our last villain was male we are due for a female villain next.

You know what would be great? A zebra voodoo queen. The zebra race has gotten very, very little airtime in the series and that sucks. A zebra villain would be a great time to reveal more about the unique magic that zebras possess and some insight into the race in general.

The mane 6, who are unfamiliar with zebra magic, would enlist the help of Zecora. It would possibly be revealed that Zecora and the unnamed villain were former rivals, the villain having been a key reason for Zecora's emigration from the Zebra homeland.

I don't remember or saw that Sombra was defeated by the elements in the show. I think Sisters defeated him by their own powers

They did not say it but if you compare the flashback if how the sisters defeated him and Discord you will see that could've have used anything other but the elements.

Luna and Celestia love eachother and I love there relationship! Fanfics that act like they hate each other are seriously messed up...

If we take into account the time between Discord's release that was S2 opener and The Crystal Empire's appearance that was S3 opening we can safely conclude that they overthrown Discord first and then went after Sombra which means they had the elements with them.

I have rewatched that cutscene and by looks of it, it's not a rainbow beam. Beam was consisted of blue, purple,yellow and light colors. Luna's magic aura is dark blue and Celestia's aura was yellow and there was no elements of harmony to be seen or floating in the background. So in conclusion it was combination both of their powers in to 1 giant beam which looked somehow very similiar to rainbow beam, but different  . And where did you get the idea that rainbow magic effect will work exactly 1000 years? If I'm not mistaking it was CmC arguments that caused for Discord statue to weakening, allowing him to break through his prison and not because of rainbow banishing spell has weared off.
I assuming that Alicorns banishing spell is not that powerfull to hold Sombra in frozzen deep for eternity as rainbow spell and this why Celestia knew when this day will come and prepared Twilight for journey to Crystal Empire. Onother reason how Celestia knew about this is because when Sombra returned , his curse on Crystal Empire has weared off with his return. This was a signal that her old foe has came back.
