One of the wildfires down in western US, specifically wildfire Doce (5000+ Acre wildfire), came within 200 yards of my house before is was able to be contained.

They still haven't let us back in due to the air quality, but this happening was the scare of a lifetime right here.
Wild fires are crazy, I actually freaked out when the sun looked blood red from all of the smoke in Montana. A family member almost had to evacuate if the fire fighters hadn't got it under control. O:

Oh man.
One time a couple years ago, a dog rescue in California almost got burned down. Can you imagine that?
The rescue had like 200 dogs, and the fire was really close to them. They had to start trying to evacuate all of their dogs, but the firefighters got it under control.
Wildfires are scary business.
