Try updating GPU drivers.

And open task manager to see if you dont have 100% load which may also cause hang

Strictly speaking, the 2D team does just that: 2D. It says textures here probably because that's what we need the most of, but the 2D team does more than that usually. You should know that vector can easily be converted to raster, anyhow, so what difference does it make?

Diffrence is less confusion.

Model>Unwrap UV>Send UV to 2D to make the texture> Send texture back

But 2D team still need to have general view how 3d model looks. So they have to be able to display texture on model unless you want to send texture back and forth.

Also if the end format is raster and in the annoucement was mentioned

"The 2D team leads would like to see plenty of examples of environmental art or textured 3D art, rather than 2D character work or fan art."

Preferring knowledge in vector graphic does not fit into it.

Uh, no, it shouldn't. Both tools, especially illustrator, are for rapid art creation, not code. Yes you can "code" in flash, but logically, if flash is mentioned in the 2D section, it's referring to the art aspect of flash... Even if it wasn't, flash is nothing like Unity, Visual Studio, or C#. You can't transfer skills from one to the other in the slightest.

Since Asterian said that Flash is not used for creating GUI and 2D team is generally for making texture maps there is no reason to even mention Flash. Environment map is also just a texture over hemisphere.

Looks like those programs were just mentioned out of blue even if there is no real requirement for them. Or the shill requirements is not detailed enough.

First off, Unity does not equate to Programming. Unity is a video game IDE. You can't even enter code into Unity. Also, just because unity has a terrain system, that doesn't mean we'll solely use it. There are more situations than not where we'll prefer a modeled terrain over a heightmap, which is what Unity's terrain system is: a very low-resolution heightmap. One such disadvantage of a heightmap is that the normals only face in a positive direction. I.e. You can't make a ceiling with it.

Who would make ceiling with terrain tool.. You either import it from other program or just use square shaped brush or box

Also it was not me that put Unity into "Programmers" section in first post.

I appreciate your unique style of trying to help, but it's both not necessary and largely incorrect or out of context.

What can i say? Annoucement is not detailed enough. Also you only quoted the technical part and skipped first part.

@AntlerShy
Ad1 As i mentioned annoucement is not detailed enough
Ad2 terraforming in programming since terrain tool in uni and even if not used that, one needs to generate collisions for said terrain in the game engine. As for the cave. For already created mountain you could just put imported asstet from other program and align it to look like entrance and insides.

You could have just updated the recruit thread from march with new info and stick it.

Other than that this recruitment should be made a little diffrent since most people here are just fans of the show and not everyone have their own portfolios. There is a 3D modeling subforum why not look first there?

Also if you say that "Only the applicants that the respective team leader is interested in will receive response emails" then say for example if they do not get a reply within X time they were not choosen.

Other than that. Textures for 3D models are Raster graphics not Vector. And Illustrator and Flash (GUI Elements (js, AC2/AC3)) should be under Programming not 2D and also terraforming in programming since unity has a terrain tool. Why it is made in blender and maya is a diffrent story but could explain the holes in terrain when you suddenly fall into Void.

Could you post what new we can see on testserver(changes since first stress test) in main page when tests begin?

And miss the fun discovering it by yourself?  :P ;)

I'm talking about a chat outside of the game, so you can organize events more easily, or find friends to coordinate what server to meet on.

How about just making a thread in LoE Discussion (before the event) that you want make/organize activity during the event and roughly talk things in advance?

Can be locked later ;)

If there will be a chat during the event on forum people will write not only about your events but also things like "How to", "I cant do X", "This game is so awesome (and similar quotes)", "general questions" and other

Those are only estimated system requirements and for a final version not pre-alpha.

First public beta was win only. It will be probably the same now.

You are wrong... :I

The system requirements are constantly updated to (I believe) reflect what you need for the current state of the game. So they are indeed the requirements for the Pre Alpha at the moment.

The first test was still Pre Alpha, not Beta.

The only change for that post about actual specs was for a HDD space. All other specs remained unchanged for at around 9 months when the stress test was run.

If you want gogle "an okay graphics card. generally if the computer is made after 2007, you'll be fine. The bare minimum would probably be 128 MB vram, DirectX9.0c/OpenGL2.0" you will see actual spec post quotes on another site.

QuoteAs the game is still in pre-alpha, system requirements are hard to pin down. I can only give general recommendations

Finally... I played on my Mac without issues... :P

Maybe because there was an OSX pre-alpha download during last stress test. :p

When i was writing that it was meant as a reply for chmura's linux question. There was no linux download then.

@Tekner

Will there be a "bug report" subforum or the game is still in too early stage for that?
73
They should do the same as they did during previous event which was 3 day public gameplay (stress test).

Becouse now there will be couple hundred people replying that they cant attend.

Shush! SFM would help me learn how to animate! It wouldn't limit me...would it?  DD:

You're learning one program only to learn later you will be using a completely different one later?

Play with Blender instead.

Unless you want to go with video editing learning

GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH! If only I had better than animating skills! I've been using Source Filmmaker recently, and have extremely basic skills, and by extremely basic, I mean I can move position 1 to 2, and move things VERY robotically. Could you guys wait two or three years so I can teach myself to animate a lot better? XD

Even if you master SFM they are making game, not an animation short  :] Also SFM works with TF2 and this aint it

I had to leave in May last year, but I'm back now :)

You could have just said that you had less time at that moment and will be coming back when you will get your things done rather than just quit if you planned on resuming later.

You could just report that you are back to resume the work to whoever you told that you were going on break rather than going through the application proces since others already know you.

Well you can't dual wield sword and axe for example but you can have bow with one button and axe with another.

That is not a dual wielding but just having two weapons assinged to two diffrent buttons (not that you can use bow and axe at the same time). The only dual wielding weapons in AC3 are guns that you can fire at two enemy's at once before reloading.

As for Desmond he ended up in animus in revelations to be kept alive so if AC4 will be using his dna Ubi will find a way to magically hook him up to continue, or it might just take action before the AC3
