Welcome to the site.

Yes, SMF's forum profile settings are pretty confusing, compared to phpbb or Kunena, which allows you to upload your pic directly from your computer as opposed to uploading it on another site and using a URL, though that does save the VPS alot of memory.
I use photobucket to upload my pics.  It's free and pretty easy to use.  If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, alot of the ponies here are very helpful    :D

oh x3  well, if you're ever interested in "getting into character", you could try out some of our Jump-Ins.  RP outside the RP board is kinda against the rules, unfortunately... x3
