short: Celestia, Luna, Cadance, Twilight, Discord, and sentient god- or demigod-level creatures have mysteriously disappeared. Meanwhile unstoppable blizzards suddenly take the world by storm without warning, plunging the entire land into subzero temperatures and blizzards that overwhelm even the united efforts of all the ponies of Equestria in an undending Winter. You, and the other survivors, must figure out a way to solve this mystery and bring back the Spring, and Harmony itself.

Factionless:
The snow is blinding, as usual, but overall it's what might be considered mild weather. Mild enough that the winds only throw you about twenty lengths rather than over and across the mountain, and that's not an exaggeration, as you've come to realize during the span of your life. Nopony knows how high the storms go; pegasi that went too far up never came back down, and the rest never saw even a glimpse of light up there, though presumably the Sun and Moon had to exist.
Most caves and shelters were, obviously, occupied and heavily fortified by surviving communities, and many were less than friendly to wanderers, since there was so little food and space to spare already. The ones that weren't occupied by ponies were often occupied by all manner of creatures. If you were lucky, you found an animal that only hurt you slightly before giving you what nutrients its body could provide. If you were unlucky, well, you never lived to tell the tale.
Out in the cold, the few wanderers consisted mostly of ponies with some sort of personal heating device, strange ponies who actually weren't hurt by the cold, and of course all manner of monsters and creatures. Star-creatures, like Ursae Majorae and Ursae Minorae, were fortunately rare, and mostly in their millennium-long hibernation cycles. Unfortunately, Frost-Wolves, Ice-Drakes, Snow-Bears and White Lynx seemed to prowl in abundance. One might find herds of Woolly Mammoths or Hoary Aurochs out here, but those were rare also, feeding on the rotting plants beneath the ice with gigantic tusks, or occasionally finding rare Snowberries and other plants that somehow adapted to the subzero temperatures and hundred-kilometer-per-hour winds.
The last pony you heard from, oh, maybe a month, maybe a year, maybe just a week ago (time was hard to keep track of without sun or moon or stars), probably mentioned a rumor about an unbelievably large underground CITY somewhere around here, with its symbol being the Triple Crown, mark of the legendary Lord Fancy Pants from an eternity ago, before the Ice. "Look for the Mountain," they'd said. "A mountain with doors, and a great stallion of stone clad in gold." Most likely just a rumor... but at this point, it might be better than nothing, at least.

Duchy Fancy, Orod Khazad:
It's mid-morning on a mild summer day down here in the stone cities, and somepony over at weather control decided to turn up the temperature and let the warm air from the Hall of Fire fill up the rest of the place. It's pleasant, and there wasn't such a thing as "too warm" unless you were right next to a forge or kiln, or a magma river. Birds were singing in the parks and gardens, little chicks, kids and foals going to and fro, playing hide-and-seek among the grand columns of the Merchant's Hall and trying to keep their mind off the fact that school starts again in a month.
Morning actually does shimmer, seeing as that the stored sunlight from the Sun-Crystals up in the far reaches of the massive cavern light up all the polished angles of the stone and crystal buildings, and the tiles underhoof. In smaller places like Gemton and Rockton, you might see the mayor giving a speech, and everywhere you went you could always find merchants and artisans, street hawkers, street cleaners and errand-colts rushing past with "very important" messages. The occasional odd pet.
Nobles were likely relaxing in their grand marble mansions, or surveying their vast estates while having tea and crumpets served to them on platinum platters. Most other ponies had "real jobs" to do, but life was actually rather relaxed around here, with plenty of spare time for hobbies and the odd "adventure" through a park-forest.
Many citizens had completely forgotten that there ever was such a thing as "above-ground". The foals, kids and chicks certainly had no comprehension of that place, only rumors of some sort of death world if you dug or wandered too far up or down, filled with either ice or magma. The magma, at least, they could understand and see. Nopony WANTED to see the Ice. To them, this was the universe, an endless series of tunnels and caverns to explore, work, and live in, and occasionally discover and colonize when they grew up. Equestria was an ancient civilization from what for all they knew was a million years ago, the sort of thing you read about in a boring history book and forgot. Oceans, stars, grassland, beaches, deserts, all these were pretty pictures on a wall, or strange and exotic places you heard about in old stories and sad songs that always seemed to make the adults cry when they listened or sang.
But some ponies couldn't keep their minds off that world far above, and the ponies that might still be alive up there...

If you desire a particular type of building or object, simply have your character "look" for it, and if it is reasonable I will provide what you need.
All injuries stay with you, unless you have healing powers or healing tools. The time it takes for injuries to heal, and how much the injury affects you, should be realistic
If you are unfamiliar with another player's tools and techniques, do feel free to ask in OOC before posting your response.
No real-world swearing. Ponified swears are acceptable (buck, horseapples, feather, banish, Tartarus, gelding, etc)
No real-world politics/religion.
No powergaming. This means no controlling another player's actions, consequences or character. If you do something that would presumably affect another character (such as throwing a pie in their face), let THEM decide how it affects them (whether they dodge the pie, for instance). If you choose NOT to be affected in an averse way, please keep the consequence realistic. One does NOT dodge a laser beam if one is an "ordinary schoolfilly" (note the word "ordinary").

Faction leaders may not leave their faction.
Players may have multiple characters.
The answer to the last question in each sign-up form must be a red-colored yes in bold.

One sentence: Pony-themed Space Opera set in a distant future Equestria, with civil war on the horizon.
Story:
Five hundred years after the return of Princess Luna, the denizens of the planet have spread out among the stars. Technology has advanced to amazing levels, and holographs, starships, repulsorlifts, gravity fields, androids, hyperspace travel and more are increasingly commonplace. The common currency is still the bit, though mostly traded electronically. Instant communication between star systems is cheap and widely available, and modern jumpsuits are fitted with life support systems, heads-up displays, holonet connection and translation interfaces, as well as interfaces with all the modern technology now available.
Many factions have sprung up as ponies, griffons, goats, and more explored and colonized the nearby star systems, though hyperspace lanes are constantly threatened by rogue Space Pirates, smugglers in blockade runners and other low-life undesirables. Unfortunately, a few of these factions are becoming increasingly belligerent, and it is feared that war shall soon break out across the stars...

On-planet, Homeworld Faction:
Another day arrived as Celestia's Sun rose on the horizon, as it always has since the dawn of time. Hovercraft and sky-carts whizzed here and there between shining glass towers while businessponies, off-duty Starfleet soldiers and other folk milled about in the streets and on tall bridges connecting the buildings. Stock prices appeared in midair as holograms changed from advertisement to news, and the sound of foals reciting the Citizen's Pledge could be heard through the windows of classrooms all about the planet. A gentle breeze stirred the leaves of a tree in the rooftop garden of the Triple Crown Heavy Industries tower as a starship loomed overhead, preparing to make for deep space on another voyage. Yet not all was peaceful; news articles all across the holonet speak of the Clockwork Empire attacking more and more ships, and of pirates and rogue extremists threatening hyperlanes. And out of the mists of time, at least as ponies saw it, rumor came of the lost empire, the Black Rose...

Off-planet/space, Homeworld Faction
Stars glittered everywhere the eye could see, except for that one pale blue-green sphere to the side as another twenty-four-hour cycle passed and "day" officially arrived. Long trains of cargo held together by electromagnets trailed powerful ion thrusters as the transportation ships arrived at the spaceport or made for the rendezvous beacon to jump to hyperspace. Sweet electronic notes floated over some intercoms, news commentary over others. Space itself, of course, was silent as always. A Starfleet cruiser floated by as it arrived at the beacon, then flashed suddenly before vanishing in a blur, jumping to the next star system to patrol.

On-planet, Clockwork Empire
Ash. Fire. Brimstone. The clanking of countless gears filled the toxic air of the lifeless world as mechanoids mindlessly attended forges, conveyor belts, hissing pipes and blazing caskets of slag. Everything moved with a bewildering speed: bewildering, that is, for an organic mind. In the mind of a machine, it was perfection.

Off-planet/space, Clockwork Empire
The cold, dead stars gleamed everywhere in the endless expanse of Void. Another ship arrived out of hyperspace with mechanical precision, quickly making turns and accelerations that would splatter organic lifeforms into their chemical components. None of the machines within paid any heed. Exactly three thousand six hundred second-cycles later, an identical ship jumped to hyperspace.

On-planet, Nexus Empire
The light of Alpha Centauri rose over crystalline towers and straw-thatched roofs alike as peasants and nobles awoke to attend to their duties to the Empress. Mares stayed at home and nursed the foals or cooked, stallions farmed the fields by hoof or practiced with crystal swords, bows and newly issued blaster rifles. The distribution of holograms was somewhat unsuccessful, since most living citizens never used such technology before in their life and saw little need or use for the tool. The view from the crystal castle was stunning, though the same as ever, as dragons flapped their wings over snow-clad mountains and unicorn guards came and went on their new hoverboards, still wearing their exquisitely engraved gold and platinum armor. It was a perfect, lawful, orderly world, and they all obeyed their Empress.

Starlight, that magical glimmer from the unknown voids beyond the protection of the Empress, could be seen all about as four starships and two sentry satellites orbited Proximus Centauri, eternally defending the system from those that would seek to oppose the will of her ruler. There was no movement, no need for movement. What creature would ever wish to leave the protection of the Empress? This was the Nexus Empire, this was home. May those that oppose it fall to the might of the Empress!

Stars glittered everywhere the eye could see, except for that one pale blue-green sphere to the side as another twenty-four-hour cycle passed and "day" officially arrived. Long trains of cargo held together by electromagnets trailed powerful ion thrusters as the transportation ships arrived at the spaceport or made for the rendezvous beacon to jump to hyperspace. Sweet electronic notes floated over some intercoms, news commentary over others. Space itself, of course, was silent as always. A Starfleet cruiser floated by as it arrived at the beacon, then flashed suddenly before vanishing in a blur, jumping to the next star system to patrol.

The light of Alpha Centauri rose over crystalline towers and straw-thatched roofs alike as peasants and nobles awoke to attend to their duties to the Empress. The distribution of holograms was somewhat unsuccessful, since most living citizens never used such technology before in their life and saw little need or use for the tool. The view from the crystal castle was stunning, though the same as ever, as dragons flapped their wings over snow-clad mountains and unicorn guards came and went on their new hoverboards, still wearing their exquisitely engraved gold and platinum armor. It was a perfect, lawful, orderly world, and they all obeyed their Empress.

Technology has advanced to amazing levels, and holographs, starships, repulsorlifts, gravity fields, androids, hyperspace travel and more are increasingly commonplace. The common currency is still the bit, though mostly traded electronically. Instant communication between star systems is cheap and widely available, and modern jumpsuits are fitted with life support systems, heads-up displays, holonet connection and translation interfaces, as well as interfaces with all the modern technology now available.
Many factions have sprung up as ponies, griffons, goats, and more explored and colonized the nearby star systems, though hyperspace lanes are constantly threatened by rogue Space Pirates, smugglers in blockade runners and other low-life undesirables. Homeworld: currently the most influential and oldest faction, Homeworld is based on the planet that most known sentient life originated from, and holds four star systems: Sol, Ursa 1, Canis 1, and Oblivion, their newest addition. This faction is led by a federation of Sol leaders, including the Princesses (who are still very much alive) and several high-ranking political figures elected every eight standard cycles. Homeworld planets place an emphasis on diversity and harmony between freedom and security, being quite ordered and lawful, with overall happiness levels generally high. This faction's military is powerful but rarely acts, and has a pacifist policy which urges diplomacy as the most favored option, punishing trigger-happy Guards. Armor and technological aesthetics are very antique, recalling the traditions of Ancient Equestria. This faction rarely wears clothes on-planet, and only wears jumpsuits and armor out of necessity.

Laws are loose, due to high happiness ratings from civilians. They are still militarily advanced, though are more of a pacifist empire, only having a strong military force to defend its self, and other allied nations. All civilians wear basic enhancer suits, to help with everyday life, and all study self defense classes every 5 years.
Pirates, Raiders, Solar Empire, and Lunar Republic: diametrically opposed groups of outlaw extremists who constantly try to take over Homeworld in the name of bits, power, or their chosen Princess. These factions hold no star systems, but are based on rogue planets floating far off in the Void, where few travelers dare to go. They are anarchic, often congregating around single outspoken leaders, attacking one another and then falling apart after a failed raid. These factions' militias are relatively weak but act often, with aggressive policies that often contain orders to blast targets to pieces. They prefer wearing scavenged armor and stolen jumpsuits, when they can get them. They don't have a particular aesthetic, mixing and matching as pieces are found or lost.

Resolved Issues / Minimum character limit for RP thread starters?

Dear Mods,
In several of my RPs now, the problem of "speed posting" and "one-liner" posting has become an issue for myself and for other players who prefer slow, paragraph-based, turn-based roleplays. For those who have played in my games before, I tend to wait for every player to have a turn before putting up a large post.
The issue comes when, during the night or the day, whenever I am not online to curb this behavior, I will often return to see three, four, even five pages of one-line, five-word, poorly-spelled posts, usually from two to three "problem" players.
I am not suggesting a board-wide minimum, but is it possible for thread starters, the "GMs", to institute a forum-based "minimum character limit"? That is, if you try posting just "
", the page returns (similar to how it returns when new posts have been added or your session timed out) with your text still in the box, but with the error/warning that "the thread starter has instituted Minimum Character Limit of 100"?
I don't know how difficult this might be, but I thought I might bring up the issue in case it was a relatively simple thing to do and some mod out there might be able to make the decision

Discord won, Twilight failed to go upstairs, never read the letters, never cured herself. A thousand years later, the world is, quite literally, Tartarus. Clouds rain exploding chocolate milk, knives, acid, nitroglycerin, giant squids, anything besides water. The ground has been checkered purple and blue since anypony could remember, aside from within Avalon. What's grass? The Six Minions, especially Lady Cruelty, Angry Pie, Rarigreed and Twilight Tragedy, do Big Banana Discord's will, dealing with any magic users still alive and spreading the eternal chaos. A grey pegasus with a blonde mane limps around the Castle of Chaos on broken legs, with a filly-shaped muffin on her back. Crows claw at it. She defends it. The deal was seven quadrillion laps. She's made one-point-three quadrillion.
Yet hope endures. Unicorns that fled south to Zebraci mixed over the years, both species vanishing and melding into modern-day Virgacorns that do their best to survive in this world in secret. Pegasi and Griffons no longer exist, having melded into hippogriffs, isolating themselves as best as they can in the cotton-candy clouds of ancient Cloudsdale. Earth ponies and Donkeys long ago melded, but their strength and determination allows them to farm their stone bread and rock pies and survive in this world.
Saint Liarjack does her best, despite the Element of Deceit pulsating where her heart should have been, to be kind and help the suffering citizens of the Capitol of Chaos. Traitor Dash is an enigma, but at the very least she helps about as often as she betrays. The impossible choices thrown at her broke her will long ago, but perhaps there is hope left.
Queen Tiamat watches over Her brood, having gathered all dragons and ponies-turned-dragons to Her domain. Changeling Queen Cadance, with her angelic feather-winged Changeling swarm, holds out in the hidden land of Avalon in the midst of the Everfree Forest, somehow using her harmony magic to prevent Chaos from spreading there. The dragon-goddess and the Changeling Queen are the closest thing this world has to benevolent rulers, and many refugees have already fled to their respective lands.
Some time ago, the Valeyard personality was forcibly regenerated onto the Doctor, but surprisingly there has been little noticeable change. Perhaps that is because the Time Lord already rewrote history so many times that there is no more change or contradiction. Or the ponies have simply stopped trying to make sense of things, because... what fun is there in making sense?
There is another beacon of hope in the Capitol of Chaos itself: the Apple Pie farm. Saint Applebloom the Heart-healer made it as much of a refuge as was possible in the first decades after having the Blank Curse forced upon her, and after three hundred years managed to bring peace to the denizens of Sunnytown. Her descendants, and that of Octavia Pie, now farm the rock apples on Sweet Rock Acres in relative peace, mourning the relatives that pass when they can, stoically carrying on when they cannot, and leaving an empty space at the table for those they know have been taken despite not even remembering they ever existed. There are many, many graves in the fields now. After Liarjack gave her sister the kindest of lies to allow her to find her eternal rest, the family kept her ashes in a small urn buried somewhere on the farm.
Diamond King Barkintosh and his wife Winona continue to rule the now-crystalline and much, MUCH wiser Diamond Dogs in their underground kingdom, with Guru Fido trading with the Apple Pies now and then to exchange food for tools and necessary skills long-forgotten.
There is despair, but there is also hope. It is not a world of perfection or harmony in any sense of the term, but perhaps, in time, a group of adventurers may show themselves worthy of the Elements of Harmony and convert the Elements of Chaos.

Another knife-storm. Actually having repetition is a first. Then again, what's the fun in making sense?
The Mayor statue kept shouting its indifference about the suffering of Ponyville's denizens all through the storm, as it had since anyone could remember. Grandpa Stone Pie over at the farm says she's been like that for a thousand years now. Nobody knows whether she's still sentient at this point.
We had some giant squid to spice up the rock pies a few days ago. Hey, meat-eating stopped being taboo centuries ago. You live with what you can get. That's what Ma always said before she got turned into a dragon and had to go to Queen Tiamat's place. She also said never to get angry, because what can being angry do anyways? Miss Angry Pie's always angry, but that's because Big Banana Discord made her that way. When life gives you lemons, don't go burning down life's house with 'em, 'cause all you'll be left with is no lemons and a big skyscraper-sized Mommy Lemon squashing you. When life gives you lemons, just thank life kindly and be on your way. At least you've got lemons now.
Mah name's Apple Pie. Yer always welcome to come over, so long as ya fit in the house an' ain't a danger to anybody. Cream Pie's got a grenade launcher left over from those tripod things Big Banana Discord sent over that one time, though, so don't be comin' over if yer just lookin' to steal our stuff. Angelic wings fluttered in the shining light of the hidden land as water tinkled over little falls, making rainbows in the air. In quiet halls, soft music can be heard floating from classrooms along with the laughter of little foals and chicks and kids too young to understand the cruelties of life. Refugees, wearing the many-hued robes of silk secreted and woven here in Avalon, may often be found in courtyards or around hearths recounting the tale of their rescue and pilgrimage to this place.
Another golden plaque was added to the walls in the Hall of Remembrance today. A changeling team had been sent to Queen Tiamat to discuss how to continue dealing with the ever-changing events, but they only made it one mile past the border of the Everfree. Their swarm-mates have been notified.
Queen Cadance has been quiet these past few days, often visiting the refurbished ancient castle of the pony Sisters to think and meditate on harmony. We have been told that today was the thousandth anniversary of the return of a pony named Luna, evidently someone very important to the Queen. None of us had the heart to ask who she was.
There are those among the swarms who wish to fight openly against... the Enemy. Yet what can we do against such power? Only the Queen knows what would happen if HE found this refuge. We... we shall continue serving the Queen however we can, welcoming in the refugees as they continue pouring over the borders. Cadance forgive us for our cowardice...

The wild wind howls as the sun and the moon switch places for the twentieth time since most creatures chose to awake. The trees and plants are very different than they were a thousand years ago, having adapted to absorbing both moonlight and sunlight, and whatever chaotic substances are thrown at them from outside the magical border. The animals would be almost as strange to a pony visiting from a thousand years ago, although in comparison to the creatures of Chaos, the wild animals are quite tame indeed. The environment is uncannily self-sufficient, even more than it once was, generating its own atmosphere and nutrients and consuming whatever non-sentient materials and energy enter the border with impunity. By the grace of Cadance, sentient beings not controlled by Chaos are left alone for the most part, and more often than not guided gently towards the Hidden Land.
It is an odd thing to say, but the Everfree is a haven now, rather than a place of terror and fear. Perhaps it is due to its free nature, being predictable in a world where Chaos is now the norm. If rumors are to believed, it has existed since the beginning of the world, and that at least may give some comfort to those who take refuge in it. This is not to say, of course, that it is entirely "safe" or "tame" in any sense. Timberwolves and hydras still await those idiotic enough to let down their guard fully, but at least they give warning and don't just appear out of nowhere to turn you into cotton candy.
Creatures of all sorts come here for rest every now and then, when unwilling or unwelcome to enter Avalon. Most are crusaders or scouts or refugees. Very few make this place their permanent home. Yet... perhaps the adventurers who do make it their home... may one day free the world of its eternal chaos.

Please do not describe the environment beyond decorative embellishment of what I have already given you. If you desire a particular type of building or object, simply have your character "look" for it, and if it is reasonable I will provide what you need.
All injuries stay with you, unless you have healing powers or healing tools. The time it takes for injuries to heal, and how much the injury affects you, should be realistic
If you are unfamiliar with another player's tools and techniques, do feel free to ask in OOC before posting your response.
No real-world swearing. Ponified swears are acceptable (buck, horseapples, feather, banish, Tartarus, gelding, etc)

Discord won, Twilight failed to go upstairs, never read the letters, never cured herself. A thousand years later, the world is, quite literally, Tartarus. Clouds rain exploding chocolate milk, knives, acid, nitroglycerin, giant squids, anything besides water. The ground has been checkered purple and blue since anypony could remember, aside from within Avalon. What's grass? The Six Minions, especially Lady Cruelty, Angry Pie, Rarigreed and Twilight Tragedy, do Big Banana Discord's will, dealing with any magic users still alive and spreading the eternal chaos. A grey pegasus with a blonde mane limps around the Castle of Chaos on broken legs, with a filly-shaped muffin on her back. Crows claw at it. She defends it. The deal was seven quadrillion laps. She's made one-point-three quadrillion.
Yet hope endures. Unicorns that fled south to Zebraci mixed over the years, both species vanishing and melding into modern-day Virgacorns that do their best to survive in this world in secret. Pegasi and Griffons no longer exist, having melded into hippogriffs, isolating themselves as best as they can in the cotton-candy clouds of ancient Cloudsdale. Earth ponies and Donkeys long ago melded, but their strength and determination allows them to farm their stone bread and rock pies and survive in this world.
Saint Liarjack does her best, despite the Element of Deceit pulsating where her heart should have been, to be kind and help the suffering citizens of the Capitol of Chaos. Traitor Dash is an enigma, but at the very least she helps about as often as she betrays. The impossible choices thrown at her broke her will long ago, but perhaps there is hope left.
Queen Tiamat watches over Her brood, having gathered all dragons and ponies-turned-dragons to Her domain. Changeling Queen Cadance, with her angelic feather-winged Changeling swarm, holds out in the hidden land of Avalon in the midst of the Everfree Forest, somehow using her harmony magic to prevent Chaos from spreading there. The dragon-goddess and the Changeling Queen are the closest thing this world has to benevolent rulers, and many refugees have already fled to their respective lands.
Some time ago, the Valeyard personality was forcibly regenerated onto the Doctor, but surprisingly there has been little noticeable change. Perhaps that is because the Time Lord already rewrote history so many times that there is no more change or contradiction. Or the ponies have simply stopped trying to make sense of things, because... what fun is there in making sense?
There is another beacon of hope in the Capitol of Chaos itself: the Apple Pie farm. Saint Applebloom the Heart-healer made it as much of a refuge as was possible in the first decades after having the Blank Curse forced upon her, and after three hundred years managed to bring peace to the denizens of Sunnytown. Her descendants, and that of Octavia Pie, now farm the rock apples on Sweet Rock Acres in relative peace, mourning the relatives that pass when they can, stoically carrying on when they cannot, and leaving an empty space at the table for those they know have been taken despite not even remembering they ever existed. There are many, many graves in the fields now. After Liarjack gave her sister the kindest of lies to allow her to find her eternal rest, the family kept her ashes in a small urn buried somewhere on the farm.

It is a gorgeous place, the Pants Family Estate. Not quite as elaborate as the Royal Palace, of course, but impressive nonetheless. The walkways paved with rare stones, the exotic plants blooming in the gardens, even the very gates through which arriving land-based carriages can enter is designed as if specifically to cater to those of expensive tastes.
The house is, if possible, even more impressive within than it is without. A great painting of Lord Fancy Pants the First hangs above elegant blackwood stairs carpeted with velvet, and marble tiles inlay with rhodium sparkle on the floor. Servants bustle to and fro cleaning various rooms or bringing supplies and materials to where they were needed.
There are visible guards to maintain order and protect the guests, of course, but they are friendly and polite, much unlike the cold, stone-faced ones serving the Royal Military.
In the Dining Hall, appetizers of all sorts are laid out elegantly, and a small symphony of classical musicians are quietly playing a calm piece over in the Ballroom. The Library is open with helpful directories pointing to different subjects and sections, while the Gardens offer some cool respite to the business of the interior. It is, of course, not large enough to be a Gala, or even what most elites would consider a "party", but in a way that made the event all the more exclusive and personal. The estate had long been refurbished and re-fitted with extra security measures since the disaster of the previous meetings, as well as the frightening events of the Adventure of the Princess Conspiracy. Tonight, however, it was hoped that peace and comfort would reign as the two old partners and their friends traded stories of adventures past and present.

Shrines and gates are houses of real spirits which walk among the ponies; dragons ripple without wings through the sky, cherry blossoms flutter gently through the breeze, and the smell of tea and calligraphy ink drifts like mist.
Skyscrapers of strange shapes soar in the sky with holograms and long, silver monorails hovering silently; neon lights illuminate streets of giant robot transports and the sailor uniforms of magical students flying here and there. A cat-bus stretches lazily as it watches monks float in midair to the beat of Neighponies' modern music.
A samurai police officer in a mecha smiles at a foal as he makes his rounds just outside a police box, and a Totoro grins with a smile as wide as its face when a Shinigami member of the Yakuza begins complaining about the latest radioactive dinosaur not getting fair treatment by the Emperor's Self-Defense Force. A card game is being played in an arena with giant aliens fighting each other while the crowd cheers them on; a smaller stadium holds a similar crowd cheering as red and white globes open and pony-sized creatures appear from within.
An empty room is suddenly filled with broken bricks and sliced paper; there is a disapproving yell from an instructor as a sheepish young ninja-in-training appears before vanishing again.
Some of you are here on vacation, others for particular purposes, and some of you are just born here. However it goes, you know that here, at least, there's never a dull moment in Neighpon!

**Scene: The Castle of Canterlot, where the adventurers and gods are gathered**
The arguments raged back and forth between the three groups. Yang Shi, the goat-headed draconequus from the East, wanted to know more about the long-lost Prince before making what he considered unnecessary sacrifices. Med-we-kan-ka-tonk-a disapproved of the entire scenario; the buffalo-headed, eagle-winged draconequus advised weathering the storm, as his followers have always done. The zebra-alicorns from the South, as expected, refused to come at all, and in any case were mostly secure in their desert homeland.
Yet in any case, in the end Anelkisteras convinced all of them to agree to at least send in scouting parties and these brave adventurers. The Royal Sisters and the newly-redeemed Draconequus offered Their old Legendary Weapons to the adventurers to help in their travels, and the Council was disbanded.

**Scene: the Gates of Pandemonium**
The door into the mountains was almost as tall as an Ursa Major, and was wondrously and terrifyingly beautiful in its construction. It seemed carved from the very mountain itself, which was indeed quite possible. Some ancient spell kept it silent on its hinges when the Princesses had spoken the pass-word, and the interior carvings still glowed with an eldritch light.
Of course, all this was irrelevant to the long, dark journey ahead. A few buffalo and goats and ponies were going to and fro at the entrance setting up a retreat station, and some were bringing in supplies. A few scouting parties had already been sent into the Depths, and at least most of those had sent back messengers, though a few were missing and some of the messages were rather terrifying in the descriptions they gave of the deeper sections:
Dragons and strange, burrowing creatures with skin like stone had taken residence in the ancient ruins. A few new creatures had come up from below as well, though a few were more or less "normal" creatures, meaning that they attacked only if provoked or hungry and were not altogether too dangerous to those who kept their cool.
There were active reptiles with ridges of sharp horn spiraling all the way around their bodies which the scouts called Toves; they excreted a caustic slime that helped them bore through the solid stone. They seemed to feed chiefly on the soft, porous fungus that thrived in the warm, moist regions of the ruins. Naturally, they sought out places where these fungi were most concentrated, and were seen practically swarming about certain structures that could have been clocks or sundials at one point long ago. There were also carnivorous, bipedal bird-like creatures without wings, with shovel-like beaks the scouts took to calling called Borogroves; they hunted in packs and were best avoided. A few omnivorous albino mammals with long hind legs and horns, affectionately called Raths because of their comically serious-looking expression, prowled here and there, bellowing their strange cry every now and then.
Then there were the more dangerous creatures, at least the ones that were given names. There was a flying creature, probably blind, that kept giving out a desperate-sounding "JUB JUB JUB JUB" sound whenever it moved for echolocation; it attacked ferociously and was only kept at bay with much difficulty. It plagued the large, cavernous chambers and preferred swooping in from above. Scouts called it the Jubjub bird, and warned that it was no easy fight keeping it away; whether it could be even defeated was another matter entirely. Then there were the swift, furious monster called the Bandersnatch; it had an extendable neck that it used to strike over a surprisingly long distance, and seemed always to go for the leader of any defending group first.
Occasionally, there were terrified rumors of even worse creatures in the Depths, and the worst place by far were the Foundations of Stone, where there were creatures so horrifying that the scouts didn't even bother giving them names; one would know as soon as one saw one.
Such were the reports from within the ruins of Pandemonium. Nobody had found the Protectorate just yet, but it was suspected that it lay somewhere in the Foundations of Stone, and that the Nameless Creatures might be the accursed slaves of the Prince. Such were just rumors and speculation, though.
The stone doors stood wide, and the daylight filtered through the dust of the entrance-hall. Many, many steps descended into the shadows below, though the hall was lit with glowing crystal lanterns.

Within this prison, his prison, he was long held captive, but now the madpony runs the madhouse and the place has become a fortress, filled with deadly enemies and the looted treasures of numerous cities. Once you enter, there is no hope of escape save by the exit door guarded by this most powerful of enemies. There does exist a door directly to this ancient evil, but you have been strongly advised not to attempt it before first gaining experience and better equipment than the fur on your flanks. It is said that there will be stations here and there where tools may be found for repairing items, should you find any.

I find more and more that things happen when I'm not around and very little happens when I'm around, so I'll just ask: when are you usually around? According to GMT, that is. Personally, I'm often on around 14:00 GMT till about 16:00, then I try to be on from 18:00 to 22:00. That would be on weekdays. On weekends I'm usually on from around 2:00 to 3:00 GMT.

As some of you may know, we currently have a Notable Pony system set up for community vote. After a short break, the higher-ups are reinstating a vote this month, reviving the questions concerning whether to have titles at all, what sorts of titles, and what to name said titles. What is the community's opinion on this? Anypony is welcome to agree, disagree, or give their opinion, and feel free to say the same thing as the pony above you if you really agree.

so, this was supposed to be the reference precursor for P&S Adventures. Is that... gone, now? I can't find it in either the RP Retirement Home OR the regular Retirement Home.
My references for creating/restoring RPs are usually as follows:

but seeing as that all of the Sign-Ups, Information threads and Rules threads for those seem to be just gone, no retirement or anything, I'm sort of stuck unless somepony could helpfully point me in the right direction for rediscovering said references.

Play as the unsung heroes who helped discover, gather and reforge the shards of the Rainbow of Light into the Elements of Harmony, while avoiding the chaos of the lands outside the Forever Free Kingdom. Fly with the Breezies as they make their final journey to their valley. Help the Diamond Kingdom build their great underground cities which would one day house the most precious gems in the world.

I will be on hiatus from July 2 to July 21, and as such will not be able to GM this game. However, this is the story I had in mind, in case anypony wants to GM the game:
Starswirl will not allow the use of time spells.
The Land For Ever Free is literally free of any and all influence from Discord's Chaos magic.
Luna doesn't fall for another thousand years, so no Nightmare just yet.
Gathering all the Elements is one thing, forging will require the Fires of Friendship. Enemies must become friends, bonds restored, old grievances forgiven, hate turned to love.
Then, somepony must exhibit the Elements in order for them to function. One must be loyal to use Loyalty, for example.

Despite the backstory being essentially about war, this is not a fighting game. It is a DIPLOMACY game. Fighting the various factions isn't going to be earning you friendship/kindness/loyalty/generosity/honesty/hope points, which you desperately need in order to find the Shards.
Breezies don't CARE about the war. So asking them for help, unless you are VERY charismatic/persuasive, probably won't work.
Since it's not a fighting game, there will be no violence of any kind. Weapons will not be used either (although they can be displayed or described as set pieces) (example of set-piece weapon: the beautiful sword was engraved with golden writing of a strange tongue, and upon its hilt were set gems of many colors. It was the ancestral sword of the Griffons, the last remnant of their glorious days before the rise of Discord. Now, lying here in the dusty halls of the mausoleum, it seemed the moisture upon its blade were like teardrops of its former bearer weeping for the fading of the world.)
There will be no real-world swearing. Equestrian swears won't be gaining you friendship points, but you can use them.
There will be no "adult" themes.
There will be no discussion of religion, although you can use the names of various Alicorns/Draconequui in your "Equestrian swears" if you wish. Not that they'd appreciate it.
There will be an OOC. Please keep OOC there.
Factions (yes, I am basing them off LOTR):
Unicornia - A proud kingdom of unicorns ruled by one of the wisest and most powerful sorceresses in the world, Princess Platinum.
Pegasopolis - A mighty land of warrior pegasi led by the iron hooves of Commander Hurricane
Gaia Republic - A coalition of earth pony farming fiefs and villages overseen by the elected Chancellor Puddinghead, who is growing senile with age.
Griffon Kingdom - A tribe of powerful griffons who feed off the conquered and the weakened.
Zebra Kingdom - Warring tribes of alchemist Zebras corrupted by disharmony and the influence of Discord.
Diamond Kingdom - An ancient and wealthy kingdom of Diamond Dogs, grown complacent on the wealth of the tunnels under the mountains filled with shining gold and gems. But they delved too greedily, and too deep...
Flutter Valley - The ancient and mystical paradise home of the Breezies, who no longer care for the things of this world, having grown tired of temporal things. Though they are unmatched in their powers of magic, however, the journey home will be long and beset with dangers.
Land For Ever Free - The neutral territory created by the Breezies, guarded by strange magics from any cosmic influence, entirely self-sustaining and self-renewing. It is the home to those who wish to end the war rather than participate in it.
The Heavens - The battlefield of the immortals, the Creators and Destroyers, the Draconequui and the Alicorns. The skies flash with great bursts of magic every moment, the stars dying and being quickly reborn, the Sun and Moon sometimes here, sometimes there, never settling.
The Capital of Chaos - The area under the dominion of Discord, and formerly Tirak the Centaur. None who enter ever return. It is guarded by more than just the allies and servants of Discord, and one does not simply walk into the Capital.

You're all from different lands. The Races have been separated into various nations since the First Age. Breezies, long the guardians of The World, have grown indifferent about the things of this world and are leaving for their home in the world beyond the world, a utopia called Flutter Valley.
As they leave and their protective powers go with them, Discord begins to stir up chaos and disharmony throughout the world, leading to the current situation.
War flashes in the skies above as Immortals battle one another. Zebraci tribes fight one another over water. All three pony races make war on one another. Griffons prey on those who are defeated.
Only the Land For Ever Free, the last gift of the Breezies to this world, remains a bastion of peace and harmony in the roiling turmoil of war. Earth, under the direction of King Arthur and Merlin, have already shattered the Rainbow Bridge, severing the only path between the world of ponies and the world of humans.
Celestia and Luna, along with others loyal to the cause of peace, have rallied to the Land For Ever Free, seeking a way to end the war. Their efforts, however, have only resulted so far in shattering the Rainbow of Light, which is now irreplacable. To remedy this situation, Celestia, Luna, Starswirl and Abigail Jacqueline have summoned the few ponies of the world still willing to seek out peace to come to the Fortress of Peace.
