Any thoughts, opinions, reviews, discussions, etc etc?  Also tips for other players either new or experienced, easter eggs, etc.

((and no, I did do a search for it on this board and the only thing that came up was a suggestion by lurk to meet up in it))

I played it a bit, it's a fun game. The start of the game is a bit slow because you have to do like 30 quests before you can leave the start zone and roam freely.
It's easy to pick up and play, it runs very smoothly even on some poorer computers, theirs unique classes to specific races, and instruments! Musical instruments that you can actually buy and make custom songs with!
It makes the social part of the game so much fun! You use the 1-9 buttons for sounds and you can change the pitch from high to low.
EDIT: You don't need to use IRL money for the instruments, you use gold in game.

Another very cool feature to the game is you can look however you want, for real this time. You can pick up something you can't even use yet and make your clothing look like it, so you can have high defense with light looking armor or a smaller weapon than what you have. Theirs limits though, you can't make a short sword look like a greatsword, it has to be the same weapon type.
EDIT2: For clothing the limits are that you can't make your iron boots look like cloth, it has to be the same type of armor.
Theirs also items in the game SPECIFICALLY made to be cosmetic and cool looking. They tend to be expensive though.

Tips: You can do deeds in every area of the game (like visiting five sites or defeating thirty flies etc) for Turbine Points (TP), usually 5-25 TP per deed.  TP can be traded in for expansions, quest packs, new areas, new skills, extra inventory space, and more.  And yes, it is entirely possible to go through the entire game, and get everything there is to get, with just deeds, not a single red cent from your pocket.

Tips: Defeat everything in sight that's yellow, you get more points for defeating yellow than green.  Red usually isn't worth it, and run when you see purple.

Tips: Loot everything, and keep it if you have room until you get back to a vendor for fixing equipment.  They will literally buy everything, even random bug shells and slimy goo, sometimes for gold when you get to higher levels.  You can also turn in seemingly useless things five times a day at green colored Task boards in cities around the game, such as Bree or Hobbiton.

Tips: lock the items you want to keep in your inventory.  Then you can just click "sell all" when you go to the vendor.

Tips: Vendors can fix your equipment, but wait until the equipment is broken before fixing.  Half-broken equipment works just as well as fully-new equipment.

Tips: Quest weapons and armor are better than the stuff you get at vendors, so think twice before buying that supposedly cheap new set from the vendor.

Tip: Hunters run faster than other races and can share speed if you want to get to the next point faster.

Tip: The mount ability costs TP.  Do a few deeds before you try getting one so you don't have to pay money.

Tip: You get extra stuff on holidays!  Try doing holiday quests during the time they are available for special items!

Tip: Don't try doing fellowship quests alone, you WILL fail no matter how high level you are.  Trust me, you can get defeated in a level-twenty fellowship quest as a level-fifty character, easily.

good job! :)

More tips: If you survive without dying once all the way to level 20, you get the title "The Undying" (just for pride, no perks)
Tip: Go ahead of the slowpoke you're escorting and kill the enemies before the slowpoke gets there, it's faster.
Tip: If you're ranged, don't let them get anywhere near you.
Tip: Stun first, shoot next.  Or if there's multiple enemies, stun the others while you're concentrating on one.
Tip: Figure out the sequence for maximum effect and minimum cooldown, or you might find yourself standing there taking hits and not being able to do anything.
Tip: Fishing does absolutely nothing besides giving you bragging rights and decorations.
Tip: It's faster to go cross-country than to go on roads.
Tip: Some food only increases power, not morale.
Tip: Keep an eye on your power meter.  If it goes to zero, you can't do anything until it recharges again.
Tip: You can move your controls around a bit if you want; look in the options menu.  It's a lot easier to rapidly mount/dismount when the button is in a convenient location, etc.
Tip: Don't go past Chetwood into the hills if you're anywhere under lvl 40, there are lvl 50 uruk-hai there.
Tip: When farming for reputation points, refuse the quests that have you go kill bosses in the South Downs in Bree, unless you've got lots of friends to help.
Tip: Farm reputation points, they give you awesome gear and stuff.
Tip: Keep all your mathoms, especially the mathoms you get from quests or from defeating enemies.
Tip: If you're looking for profit and don't want to work too hard for it while exploring, choose Explorer.

Nice! :)  I'm personally on the Withywindel server, but I know the others here might be on other servers.

I tried it out, made a character... it took almost an hour just to do that. I guess I won't be seeing y'all in game 3:

Ahaut

Nice job Magus for bringing in more players :P
As for Julius and I we're on Gladden. Sucks to be on different servers though.
Lemme drop a Tip: Don't feel hurried to reach the level cap, enjoy the ride and read the quest dialog, you won't get the full feel of quests if you just click accept and finish them.

Book Smarts

How are the graphics on max setting?
