I always wondered why 2+2 didnt equal 5, but now I have PROOF! HAHA, AHA, HA, ha.. heh. ovO
Anyway. PROOF
Start with: -20 = -20
Which is the same as: 16-36 = 25-45
Which can also be expressed as: (2+2) 2 (9 X (2+2) = 52) 9 X 5
Add 81/4 to both sides: (2+2) 2 (9 X (2+2) + 81/4 = 52) 9 X 5 + 81/4
Rearrange the terms: ({2+2}) 9/2) 2 = (5-9/2) 2
Ergo: 2+2 - 9/2 = 5
Hence: 2 + 2 = 5

So simple, I can't believe I never though of it this way.

Seems like proper proof.

Long story short: No, no it doesn't.

Could work like this: (From same thread): 2 (lbs @ $1) + 2 (lbs @ $1.50) = $5 but we're not working with that.

1+1=1

Solve that.

Okay.
a = 1
b = 1

a = b
a2 = b2
a2 - b2 = 0
(a-b)(a+b) = 0
(a-b)(a+b)/(a-b) = 0/(a-b)
1(a+b) = 0
(a+b) = 0
1 + 1 = 0
2 = 0
1 = 0
1 + 1 = 1

I have a easier solution:
You have 1 pile of dirt, and you get another one, so you put them on top of eachother, now you have one big pile of dirt.

Technically, he's not.
A pile of dirt and a big pile of dirt are two different measurements, it's like saying: 1 apple + 1 apple = 1 melon.
It doesn't make sense because they are not the same thing.
Also a bloody genius would be an absolute mess. He wouldn't even be smart, he would need a doctor.

Also in your first one you suddenly forgot your minus-sign and your brackets weren't right...
"Which can also be expressed as: (2+2) 2 (9 X (2+2) = 52) 9 X 5" --> that was one of many mistake: 288 = 2340

Now, who here likes a good story about a bridge?

I don´t think that you´re the smart one if you say that dirt and dirt isn´t the same thing.

Pile < Big pile
But if you think it is the same...
Lets divide candy, you get a pile of it and I will get a big pile. Seems fair, doesn't it.

I second this! A story about a bridge sounds nice.
Don't know what to put here.
So I just am typing these words, not knowing what to type here.
Maybe later I'll figure out.
