A lone earth pony is walking up a dusty path leading to the Feeble Leaf village. He doesn't remember how he got to the path, nor his name for that matter. His memory is completely empty, nothing before him standing on the dusty path. He's slowly recovering from a certain kind of dizziness. By the light, and the position of the sun, it seems to be morning. The nearest building to the pony is a small diner, his stomach growls and his throat is dry.

Light.

Sunlight poured over the earth pony, embracing him in a lighter tone of colours. His fur breezing across his body alongside the wind. The leaves seemed to bristle and clash which each other as some fell to the muddy ground which was called "a road."

It was a road, right? He was walking towards Ponyville...right? He pondered for a minute. The size seemed to match the diameter of a...no, it didn't. It had to be a trail. Leading where, though? Was it a wildlife trail? A trail to a place, a destination? Was it a trail to divine places, or death?

As usual, the pony's mind was rushed with questions. Some were stupid and some were smart, but all came to his mind faster than it can answer itself. He needed to know, he needed more information, more research. He had to see.

He opened his eyes, the sun with its bright colours bashed against them, forcing them back closed quickly. He tried again, but received the same outcome. He tried once more, yet to no avail.

Between each of these openings, however, he saw the diameter of the path. It was not a road. It was not a trail. It was just paved dirt.

Yet he saw something else. A building. It was like any normal building. Box-like, had a door and windows. Unlike normal buildings, it had a sign.

Once more, he opened his eyes, trying his best to glance towards it before the sun shut him down. With no success, he moved closer, and tried again. Failure.

He took a few more steps, getting close-

"Gah!" He screamed as he bashed his muzzle against the door, frightening him a bit. At least the good news was that the building's exterior managed to block some of the sunlight. His eyes slowly adjusted towards the sign placed on the door.

----- Diner.

Strange. The first few letters were crossed out in an unreadable way. He placed a hoof against the sign, and tried to wipe away the marks. The door flew open, as gravity pulled the pony towards the ground.

He gasped as his back legs touched the dirt of Equestria, and the rest of his body resting upon the floor tiles of the restaurant's entranceway. Not only did he feel pain throughout his whole body, but there were two specific spots that brought the majority of it. The stomach, and the throat.

He didn't understand why. He wasn't previously injured in combat...right? No...yes? He could not remember. He tried to see any previous battles he has endured, both the major and minor ones. Nothing came to mind.

He tried to get up, but his body forced him to rest. He tried once more, but the brain's signals were stronger than his own strength, so he stayed on the ground.

He could feel the door softly bash against the top of his head, as it tried to return to its normal position: being closed.

He just needed to sleep...It was a magnificent feeling.

His eyes opened once again, realizing his current situation. He fell asleep in a diner, where ponies were eating.

He tried to get up, this time mustering the strength to defy gravity, and soon he was on his own four hooves.

He glanced around quickly, taking a glance at the interior of the building.

"Hello?" He said, his throat still dry and sore.

There was nopony anywhere in sight. There were several tables, on some of them plates and other personal items, but no traces of the owners. The smell of eggs came from the kitchen, as well as freshly made coffee. Rest of the interior of the diner was nothing special.

As the voice whispered into the stallion's head, a table began to walk towards the stallion.

Quite literally. It's legs were moving like pony legs as though it were alive.

He was quite surprised that this bistro was empty. As he could previously tell, the sun was near the horizon, signalling that it was breakfast or dinner time. He would have thought that it would be crowded, to say the least.

The smell of eggs and coffee entered the stallion's system, quenching his stomach and throat almost instantly.

Taking one hoof forward, he retracted it quickly...He heard something...

It was a pony...somewhere.

"Uh...hell-" His voice was cut off as he took in the sight in front of him.

He could have sworn that-

No...it moved aga-

"Uh..." Was all he managed to muster as a table literally walked towards the pony. Slowly, he retracted his hoof, hoping not to engage to whatever it was.

Once he was close to the door, he ran out as fast as he could.

Once out of the door, the stallion had only two directions to run too, towards the village or away from it. If he choose to run away from the village, after a while of running, he would just get back to the diner he was trying to run away from. If he ran towards the village, he would get to the center, to medium sized fountain, around it a few benches, the building around was the city hall, a few shops and residential buildings. And like before, nopony to be seen.

Already scared to death while enjoying his stay here, he galloped as far as he could have away from the town.

As the stallion started galloping away, while at the same time galloping towards, the diner (as stated by Grizzly), he could see a trail of white smoke leading towards the village.

Something began levitating in front of the pony, three sticks... they were pointing in an arrow shape, back to the village.

"Go back, you must go back."

((Well, this is the hard part about my apparition, must keep waiting ._.))

The stallion went to a complete stop after seeing everything around him. Floating sticks...white smoke everywhere...what else!?

Once again, as before, he ran away from the floating sticks and through the trail of smoke.

He slowly went into an insane state, as he began to lay down on the ground. He grabbed both of his back legs with his front ones, and swayed back and forth on the ground in an effort to calm him down.

Unannounced to him, he had not realized that he has reached the heart of the village, near the fountain.

The apparition that was holding the sticks would have frowned if he could.

"Watch Out!" it whispered.

In the fountain area, faint motion could be seen and heard, but no figure to be seen. Within a few seconds, a hound could be heard whimpering from under a lifeless bench.

... at which the bench soon started vibrating and flew up into the air, clattering onto the ground loudly.

Small puffs of clouds began to form in pairs a few inches from each other. The clouds formed a trail leading from where the bench collapsed to the fountain and stopped suddenly.

"Just...please..." The stallion tried to talk, but what only came out was the mumbling of random words.

He was shivering and scared, quite possibly to death.

In the distant police station, a shadow crept along the ground making a faint low whistle as it tried to make it's way to towards the old diner. It made sure not to stay in the bright midday sun too long, seeking shelter under the shade of trees, benches and anything else large enough to cast a shadowy haven for it. Something was out there, and whatever it was, it reeked of fear. A series of faint whistles were heard in the distance, sounding vaguely like a chuckle. The shadow continued towards it's destination, wanting to find the source of such panicked emotion.

Hovever, it seemed as though it would have to postpone their encounter, as the bright sunlight prevented it from going beyond the fountain. It decided to wait patiently under a nearby tree for their encounter.

The voice of the apparition with no form returned.

"They want to hurt you. Run! I will not, and cannot."

The voices returned to his head. The voices echoed throughout it, sounding like millions and millions and millions of ponies were talking at once.

The surroundings began to blur out as they moved without any apparent force, flicking up into the air and moving all about.

The shadows even moved without any drastic change in the sun.

The stallion couldn't take it anymore.

Getting up as fast as he could, he ran towards the nearest building and dived through the door, hoping that it was unlocked.

The building the stallion jumped to was a book store, and the door was unlocked. The book stores had countless book shelves, but all of them had the same book, a novel by an unnamed author, the novel last pony on earth.

"See those books?" One of the apparitions asked. "They refer to you!"

There was an unsettling whistle like sound coming from the front doors. With each second passed, the whistle became louder and louder as if it was approaching the stallion. As the unknown sound passed by one row of books, claw marks began to form and rip the spines.

... at which the books responded by flailing up into the air and thrashing about at where the sound seemed to be coming from. Clearly, something didn't like the idea of the books being damaged.

The stallion shuffled back, away from whatever was causing the books to be ripped apart, flailing upwards into the air. One managed to land in his lap.

He quickly reached for it and scanned throughout the pages, hoping that something useful was there.

The invisible apparition sighed knowing what the other two were doing.

"Cut it out you two! You don't want to hurt him do you?"

This one seemed to have taken a liking to the stallion.

The book that the stallion was examining was very thick, but text was filled only at the first fifty five-pages. The final sentence of the book before a see of empty pages was "And then he started to read the book..."

"No...No...what else is there?" He sighed to himself as he realized that the first few pages only had text. He decided to scan the first three pages of the book to see what this thing of a 'book' is.

The shadowy apparition was getting impatient under the shade of the tree it waited under. If it could speak, it would most definitely curse the sun that still shone brightly high in the sky, for making it do so. Noticing that the sense of fear had somewhat subsided, the apparition decided to give up hiding for the moment and began materializing on the spot.
The shadow crept up out of the ground and took the form of a pitch black stallion with no discernible features. It sat down and made itself comfortable, crossing it's legs as it waited anxiously for the poor soul that stumbled into this village.

When the stallion touched one of the pages, he got a vision, or, so he thought.

He was still in the library, but there was more ponies there, and he was... shorter? He was in another ponies body, or he was seeing what this pony saw!

The little filly walked in the library, there was now many different books. The filly stopped infront of a table with a book called "The last pony on earth".

"That is a good book" Somepony said. The suprised filly turned around and saw a pink mare standing there.
"You should totally read it! It's awesome, sad that there's no author tho, because I would totally throw him a party!" The pink mare said and skipped away. The pony looked through the first pages, and then a white flash blew up into her eyes!

The stallion was back, on the ground. He had passed out, but now there was something red and slimy written over the original text on the third page. It said: [glow=red,2,300]"They are hiding, so should you too"[/glow].

As the stallion read the red words, the book began to float about. Flying like a bird, it bumped into a door, continually trying to go through it despite the door being closed shut. After a while the book just zoomed out of the window, breaking it like mere glass... Which it was.

"Did..." The stallion said uncontrollably, breathless at what just happened. Somehow, he was transported to somepony's mind while still having their own common sense. It was like he was the brain of...whatever he just was.

It was incredible. To think that magic can do amazing wonders, and yet he has more and more research to perfect such skill. When he does...all the knowledge in the use of arcane wizard and all its potential...

This thought managed to lift his mood. Slowly, yet surely he got up, holding on to the book, hoping that it could be useful later on.

Whatever these things are, they were helping him. Though it was not in a nice way, it was still a direction, of sorts.

He opened the now-brokened door and trotted outside.

From inside the book store, emitted a growl. The growl crescendo as it became accompanied by the appearance of 2 glowing yellow eyes about a foot off the ground. The yellow eyes constantly faded in and out as it approached the front doors and g ave off an unsettling glow, which only escalated as they drew closer and closer.

Outside the store, the scenery is pretty much unchanged. Still the same stores, city hall down the street, and several residential houses on both sides.

The invisible apparition floated over the stallion's shoulder unrolled aware of the approaching yellow eyes, which he went to engage.

Upon hearing the growl, the stallion tried his best to keep whatever courage he had as he now galloped towards the City Hall

Immediately after, the eyes disappeared, but the growling grew into multiple barks of aggression. Small dust clouds began to form as if something was stampeding towards the stallion.

And soon after, books started flying out of the book atore and hurling themselves towards whatever seemed to be stampeding. The stallion probably would have been relieved had the same not been happening to him as well.

The stallion's new ghostly guardian chased after the dust clouds.

"Leave the mortal alone!"

The stallion tried his best to avoid the books, but to no avail. One managed to hit him in the knee, the next in the groin. Easily enough to knock the stallion to his knees.

The hostile apparition ignored all sounds except for that of the stallion's. The yellow eyes reappeared inches from the stallion and coming in closer by the second. For a split second, an obscure brandeis-blue quadraped figure appeared before vanishing.

Hours go by and the stallion finally wakes up. Apart from a few bruises he was unharmed. The room looked exactly like it did when he first came there, the books were undamaged and the furniture was unmoved. Only thing different was a faint smell of smoke that filled the room, the smell lead to the counter, where in an ashtray burned a half finished cigar next to a news paper. It would appear that somepony was just there, but there is no movement at the moment.

The ghostly apparition hovered over the stallions shoulder "Do something... that isn't smoke that cigar..."

Naura looked on the room from above and started thinking.
'If this leads to a place out of this "mansion" I'm willing to risk it', she then backed away ten meters and quietly stated;
"I'm not afraid" and then she ran up to the hole and jumped, closing her eyes when she felt she was going downwards.
