Nah, it's 'cause the show definitely wouldn't do it. TV shows for kids and pre-teens just aren't quite brave enough yet to step up and show... well... y'know.. yet. MLP is definitely not gonna be revolutionary in that way. The consequences would not be in their favor.

[Edit]: Maybe an episode where tons of ponies in Ponyville do something for a week to support something, but one of the mane six doesn't really support nor oppose it. She's just indifferent about it. But the other ponies get onto her about it and are upset because she doesn't support what they support.

That reminds me of what happened in Jimmy Neutron. There was an episode where he made the greatest candy ever, but everyone became addicted to it and begged him for more. He finally decided to get them to stop eating it by making a batch that electrocutes you when you eat it. The only one left eating it was Sheen who proclaimed it was the best batch yet.

I can imagine if it went a similar way in MLP, Pinkie would be in Sheen's place.
