Hello everyone! You can now download the game in preparation for the Open Server Weekend!

The servers will open to the public at 12:01am EST on January 24th and close at 11:59pm on the 26th. The game will be available through the downloads page.

Please note that you must have a forum account before you can log in to the game. It is highly suggested that you register before the 24th, as the servers will be very busy once the weekend starts!

the game is half way done downloading for me but how do you know its all "Good" if you can't even enter game yet? :s

I'm a little concerned that MediaFire flagged the Windows client as dangerous.  :/

Good point. I am mostly glad that I got it to the menu screen, myself, with not much of a problem. Computer repairs made me worried that there may have been a problem at this point.

When the launcher is done Downloading, where the "update" text would normally be would be replaced with "play" instead. You can't login to the game servers, but you can do everything else in the menu screen

I downloaded the Mac OS X build 'cause I have Linux, Mac and Windows in my laptop. I want so much the Windows build but Mediafire marks it as a dangerous file and thus it's blocked.

Anyways, I also downloaded the Windows Launcher, but I don't have .NET Framework 4.0. :P

Guys, where does the launcher download the files to? My C: drive is full and I need to redirect it.

i see... most of my online game problems happen during Gameplay so it would be strange for me not to show some concern :/

It creates a folder called "game" which will be located in the same area as the .exe which would at first be in your Downloads folder

Windows Launcher can work in Windows 64 bit?  :o

This will be my first time playing, and I'm driving the hype train all the way there.

I have a 64 bit operating system and I had no trouble with the launcher. So, I think that is a "yes, it does work with 64 bit"

last time i checked i think i had a 32 Bit
i hope this 64 bit works... if not i'll have to try that back up 32 bit download which just showed  up after i started downloading the 64 bit :l

I have some problems with the launcher. When I run the "Legends of Equestria Launcher.exe", appears a dialogue box saying that WpfLauncher.exe stopped working.

What did I do wrong? :c

did u happen to move the launchers location in mid download? or something

Mine wont download it says : unable to read data from the transport connection: an existing connection

Nope. I simply downloaded and opened it. First, I needed to download .NET Framework 4.0, and I have it now installed, but when I opened it for second time, it stopped working.

I saw the Task Manager and the program appears, but also appears WerFault.exe. I'll restart my laptop, maybe it can work.

I have the same problem, and with all version (32/64/updater). :c

Having "WpfLauncher has stopped working" upon opening, close the program. Tried running as Admin, same.
Tried the 32 bit dl, but flagged and removed. Running 64-bit system btw.

Try deleting any previous clients of Legends of Equestria which you still have installed on your machine.

Yay.  Nice downloader. 

Feel need to point out though that when I first clicked on the x64 link all the warning bells and whistles went off on my PC as it tried to block the file (both Windoze and TrendMicro).  I got around this by being extremely trusting and ignoring the warnings (after setting a system restore point - I'm not that daft) :P   Probably something to do with it being Unity browser, anyhooo...

Following that got the two pones update button {click} download and prompt to PLAY.

for some reason i closed the game then tried opening it again using the Launcher inside my google crome download history and now its asking me to update again...?

My guess, is that you moved the launcher.exe to far away from the game folder. the game folder and the .exe need to be in the same location. Otherwise it will just create a new one in that location

Well, click on the update botton on the right and the download beging, then when its already finish it launch me to the game, but the game most be in the downloads in my pc or whenever your downloads end when they finish.

i moved it to my desktop so i guess your right X3

I downloaded the 64 bits client, and it works fine. Just have to wait.

Anyways, I dunno which client downloads the launcher.

So, am i going to have to need something like winzip in order to extract the files? If so, i'm probably going to have to sit out on this cause things like Winzip won't download onto my computer (for some reason).

I read that in other posts as well. What OS are you using that you are getting these messages? Is this a Windows 8 thing or something? Usually I would be skeptical about the download if I get this message, but since you know the source for this one, I guess it's fine to just download and install it.

Have you tried to download the launcher from google drive?

I'm using Chrome and it said it was malicious too, but I went to downloads after it was done (it said it was malicious after it finished), and I clicked, 'recover file' or something like that. It gave me a warning, and I clicked 'Hurt me plenty' (xD). After that it let me open the file and extract it.  ^-^

Yeah, windows 8 hp laptop. I tried, but nothing's working.
Chrome keeps blocking my shiz and i cant get the chance to even download any of it.

So then it's a setting in chrome maybe? I just tried chrome on windows 7 and have no problems with. It downloads just fine. Maybe try to install Firefox as browser? If it lets you download it....

The 64 bit version does not run on a 32 bit machine, so you are fine.

This is still beta software. There's bound to be plenty of bugs. All versions are likely to have problems of some sort but that's the point of the test this weekend.

I went for the 64 bit version on MediaFire, was annoyed by the "Play" button to get the captcha, downloaded it anyway (Firefox 23, Windows 7). Extracted the files, ran the exec file, looks like it's working! I'll see how it goes when the serves open! 8^D

Oh there were some nifty bugs, like floating timber wolves or diamond dogs. They were easy to snipe from below & retreive chests of easy bits! lol

Assuming Windows, you can right click on 'Computer' or 'My Computer' and click 'Properties' and it should tell you under 'System Type.'

Then how did you install the 64 bit version? 32 bit hardware can not run 64 bit software without a 64 bit emulator or virtual machine. Same reason you can not install 64 bit windows on a 32 bit machine. Well, i think you can, but it sort of defeats the purpose of using a 64 bit OS.

Than how did you install the 64 bit version? 32 bit hardware can not run 64 bit software without a 64 bit emulator or virtual machine. Same reason you can not install 64 bit windows on a 32 bit machine. Well, i think you can, but it sort of defeats the purpose of using a 64 bit OS.

tried right clicking the game itself? it should appear the option for it... if it doesnt, right click it, then choose properties, then compabilities. there should be somthing like "execute this as administrator". check it. now, everytime you open the game, it will  run with the admin (ye gotta confirm it thou :P) hope its enough :3

right click the file itself....i think that since you downloaded it, it must be on your downloads files (unless you moved it to another place :P)

I have a Windows 8.

Both 32 bits aren't letting me download it. One is determined to be dangerous, and the other was disabled for too much online traffic. I never really understood the difference of 32 vs 64. Is the performance going to be any different?

However,
the 64 bit version works up to the start up point,
which means the game at least doesn't crash,
that was my primary concern,
and that hurdle has been removed,
so I'm off to a good start at least.

The system I have recognises Legends of Equestria launcher as an wpflauncher. Maybe that is the main problem, the system tries to load the launcher as a specific type of program which it isn't. Or maybe I just don't have the necessary files to run this launcher

I used this alternate: (Redacted-Please do not post links to the client that are not approved and posted by the LoE team) without any problems.  Downloaded the ZIP-File... opened it up with WinZip... installed the program in it's own dedicated folder... and started right up without a problem.

Weird, downloaded for the first time, said it would take 6 hours, re-downloaded and now my macs saying it'll take 30 minutes-1 hour to download.
Still, hopefully the game wont overdo my CPU levels and I can play for the first time. Hopefully anyone having problems will get it fixed soon.

Hello everyone, i already wake up from my little nap, but now reading de other answers i noticied something, something about a pach, how is that, a pach i never hear something about a pach, i just use the launcher and update, did i need something else.

I can only start it from my "Downloads" folder, every time I move it into my Legends of Equestria folder, I get an error message when I try starting it, but that's a minor issue.

For me, it downloaded, and then it said it was malicious. If it's doing this to you, do ctrl + j and click 'recover file' or something of the sort. It'll warn you, and click 'hurt me plenty' if that's the option. If not, just click confirm or yes.

depends on which version you are downloading... If its one of the links that has the 32x, 64x, or other type of pc, then i guess you download the currecnt version. the one with the launcher is going to patch the game everytime you tell it to patch (:P), withouth needing to download further ones (i believe that its, at least, for now. also, if im wrong, then sorry :P)

When I try to use the launcher it either gives me the error "Unable to read data from the transport connection: an existing connection" And when it does work it always stops when downloading part 2 and says something about not matching what was expected (I couldn't get back to the error to get exactly what it said). When I try to download the game directly from mediafire (I have windows 64 bit) It downloads at a speed of between 10-30 kb/s. Out of curiosity I tried downloading the 32 bit version and that downloaded at a speed of 200-500 kb/s so I know it can't be my connection to the internet. Any ideas? Thanks for your time

August was going to be my first time, too, but I got to the downloads late and had all 5 days trouble getting it. The first 4 days, I couldn't get a download working, then, I got it open but it wouldn't let me log in, saying some kind of error. But anyway, I spent the last day trying to log in, but had no luck. I just got a new computer this week, and am using it now. I luckily got to the download early this time, and am hoping to FINALLY play without lagging/crashing.

With my luck so far, I think I'll be good to go!~

hmm... try redownloading it, or executing it as administrator. if it doesnt work, try to let the 64x download anywany, it may get faster after a while. thats the basics i can say, sorry if it doesnt work :c

Mine works, but there's no music. I remember the older builds played a song on the log-in screen. Is the silence normal?

The music you have to put in the settings in audio, and with the launcher that what i don't know, if download the version for your computer or just any of this, but maybe with my works very fine

So far I have not seen any issues with 64bit

All you do is extract to its own folder and open the loe.exe
(example: C:\Documents and Settings\User\Desktop\LoE )

I just extracted it to a folder I created on the desktop and had 2 files, the LoE.exe and the LoE data folder. As long as those 2 are together they work just fine.

Well seeing that windows xp is now a completely dead os (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/enterprise/end-of-support.aspx) that is 13 years old now, I wouldn't rely much on its ability to run things like unity.

Yes the 32 bit version should work, but they are not using the same version of unity as the previous version I believe and that might've broken it or something. Either way just saying"it doesn't work" is pretty non-specific and doesn't really help anyone diagnose the potential issue.

Hmm well if its corrupted that most likely means you didn't download the file fully so it cant extract it. Is your zip like around 558mb?

You can use Myponi, its a program to download, maybe it works with it, but i'm just think is a posibillity, i not saying is going to work, but it coult help

well,thankfully i downloaded the client for Win7 x64 from mediafire without problems , unlike the last time that it was a nightmare to download from Google drive, now to wait until tomorrow to see if(hopefully) everything runs smoothly.

USE WINRAR! I see most issues with extracting the files... WINRAR works way better then winzip or even the windows unzip that came with windows xp.

The protocols to zip the files are more advanced when using a updated version of winzip/winrar then with outdated unzip programs.

If you are having trouble with the launcher, GIVE up on it, I will test the launcher out when I get it downloaded but everything works fine without it

Try downloading .NET Framework 4.5. It worked for me. If not, download again the launcher.

I have that on my Win7 x64 and it still crashed, I gave up on it for now.

The most important part is that it they gave us 2 different ways to download and the first time I did it (zip version), worked fine  ^-^

well that happen sometimes, you doenload a zip, thee it says that finish the download then you realice that maybe one single file has not be downloaded, just that sends everything to the WC, just try again

Odd. I also have Win7 x64 in my laptop. Anyways, you can download the game manually, so I don't see any problem. ^-^

I downloaded all the builds (x86, x64, OS X and Linux) because I have all these OS in my laptop, just for testing purposes, of course.

EST is on GMT-5, Costa Rica is on CST(central standard time) GMT-6

that means that at 12 a.m EST, it will be 11 p.m on CST

Tanks for that friend, now a see something peculiar, i have download the zip, then in the screen y take the files and puted there but i run the game, goes very well, like the one i download with the launcher and even has the full screen option in check like the first one y download today at 3 am

It has come to my attention from Trend Micro that Legends of Equestria's Windows 64x bit (from MediaFire) of it's latest build had suspicious activities & was automatically removed by Trend Micro.
Is there another way to not almost get fully assaulted by viral acts (Do I select Windows Launcher or LoE Patches...?), or on the next build, be sure to test everything for viral activities...?

From the previous build I found, it didn't cause viral acts... Now this W64B latest build does. (Reminds me of Rockman 8-bit Deathmatch V4, that contained viral programming.)

I just need some guidance to know how to proceed safely. I may wish to try again at an alternative routine, but it might give the same results...

Bleh. I am a derpy pony and this is my first time able to download it. It says "does not match expected" ;w;. It wont finish updating and I think it might be something wrong with the file since its giving me an "the archive is either in unknown format or damaeged" Derp  :o

I'm not sure if it does, but 32 bit programs will still work on 64 bit systems so it doesn't make much of a difference.

Talking in general, yeah, it doesn't make difference.

Oddly, when I play 32-bit LoE, I have some inconsistent framerates and long loading times than 64-bit LoE.

Makes a difference to me. I want to run 64 bit on a 64 bit system. Kinda simple.

Mods can you please make the Launcher download the 64 bit client on a 64 bit system? Currently using the normal 64 bit client without any issue, but would just like to seamlessly update.

Or make a 64 bit launcher that downloads the 64 bit client?

I tried to download the 64-bit version, since my PC is 64-bit, and after a while, it seemingly finishes downloading yet the .zip file is invalid and can't be opened.

It's safe, I don't think there are problems. I always download all the builds of the game and I haven't had any problems.

Bleh having to reinstall the 64 bit version. Guess it wasnt finished since the errors on winrar wont go away...e.e

I did, and comodo didn't freak out so it's safe

Trend Micro is giving what is called a False positive.


This is just classic example of a AV not doing it's job really that well, instead flagging something that is clean while missing what isn't... Typically... hope you didn't pay for that AV.

Make an exclusion for LoE file in trend micro AV so that it ignores checking it.

Windows 8.x and windows 10 users may get a warning about running the program due to not being signed/verified or a potentially dangerous file. Simply hit more information and then click run anyways.

Those with windows VISTA/7/8/8.1/10 SHOULD have UAC fully enabled and at maximum value, The LoE client does NOT require administration rights provided you haven't installed it to a location such as the program files locations or some system folder locations.

IF an infection were present while UAC is enabled and running, it would trigger UAC prompt if something seriously malicious was being attempted (which having ran it already a few times, proved to be free of any.

When you take a screenshot in game with F12, it will be sent to the "LoE Screenshots" folder in the "My Pictures" folder.

Is your internet connection stable? Try deleting the file "game" and attempt the update.

Hi fillies and gentlecolts!  I just tried logging in, selected equus server, got to the character selection window, was logged out, then on relogging got a message " No character selection room is running at this time"

'Failed- No file'  happens every time I try downloading the 32-bit.

This is what chrome has to say about it: 'No file: The server could not find the file. The file you attempted to download may not be valid. Contact the server administrator.' I have no idea what to do though. I've tried the 32 bit download around 5 times now and I get the same error message every time.

Is there any other way of getting this client?

dont use the launcher, it is bugged, just dowenload the x32 or x64 zip. no need to patch
