It's not very effective against non bronies.
I used some references only bronies can understand, but there is only one brony in my class and one of my friends know brony fandom, but he don't want to watch ponies(he still accepts me) so only two dudes understand my references. I am pretty sure that there are no hidden bronies around(yet  ).
