Pound & Pumpkin Cake; New Roles?

You all can't avoid it, Pound & Pumpkin Cake are one day gonna grow up. How would this effect the show? For one, they'd pretty much be set up to be friends with Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo. Possibly even having them guiding them. I dunno about you guys, but I'd love to see Pound & Pumpkin take on new roles, have dialogue, and do more among the main characters.
