When people can't give any valid reason for something other than things like "It just does/is".  Either out of ignorance or lack of knowledge. Like i don't mind your opinion, but at least show some good reasoning for why you take that position otherwise you'd just be mindlessly believing in something that either only you or everyone else does.

Thank you! I am not the only one who gets annoyed with that! Respectful disagreements and subsequent discourse is the best part about us being created with the intelligence we were given. Too many people refuse to use their abilities of Critical Thinking and Dialogue.

I also have a question: Will there be a communication system set up for the group you are forming, so that everyone can stay in direct contact during roleplays and such? If so, I would recommend utilizing Discord.

I can do a good Doctor Whooves, if I put my mind to it, so if you would like, I could take on his character. I can also modify my roleplaying style to suit your needs, if I am not exactly what you intended(I have not done any truly serious roleplays, so I have not always put in maximum effort).

Regardless of my usual style though(which I can work on, if need be), I am fairly decent in the grammatical department, to my knowledge, and I usually should have plenty of time to participate. As such, I think I am relatively what you are wanting, and I am willing to participate, should you choose to accept me.

I apologize for posting so late after the creation of the thread, and if there are any problems in this post. I am rather tired(not an excuse, simply a reason).

Issue: The form has no contact info field (e-mail, phone number, etc). How are you guys going to get in touch with applicants, or even confirm the application was received?

Hello M8, thank you for the concern.

While the applications were being made, it was determined that all that we needed for purposes of eventually notifying the accepted and granting playing ability was their forum name, and not anything else. I understand your concern though.

Finally blasted through that, took an hour or two, ended up writing like, eight paragraphs.

Will it be announced when the applicants are selected? I don't want to forget, and not check my email, and then miss seeing what happens, that'd suck.

When the applicants are chosen, all who are accepted will be notified appropriately. Do not worry about that part.

I don't want to rush any of you, but I am a bit worried. It's already November, and the release is supposed to be in December. You said it would be right around the corner, but... it's almost halfway to (intended) release.

Did something go wrong? Were there just a bit more technical problems to sort out first?

I'm perfectly okay with waiting, but it was just a bit worrying without any updates or news about something so major.

Again, you guys are amazing, and I definitely don't want to sound impatient. I'm just a bit worried that something could have gone wrong. After all, the most dangerous time for fan games of this scope is right before release.

That's what I've been wondering too. But, I wanted to be mindful and not bug them about it.

But it's got me concerned as well.

Firstly, allow me to apologize for what seems to be a lack of information, so close to the Limited Access Release. We know how excited you guys are, just as we are!

However, the silence does not mean that there have been any problems or the like. We are still finalizing the applications, and will update all of you when everything goes live. We want to make sure it all goes smoothly, after all. If there were any difficulties of notable nature, we would inform you, so no need to worry.

Any specification for what program to use / is preferred for the 2D art? For instance, I tend to use GIMP (since it's free and open source), but is, say, Photoshop or some other program more preferable?

Same for 3D modelling. In the animation section you specify you want Maya experience, but not in the 3D modelling section. I was learning Blender a while back, is that suitable? Or is Maya absolutely required?

I will update you on 2D in due time, but I wanted to go ahead and address the 3D elements:

So long as your program uses fbx and obj files, then you can use it for 3D Modeling. However, it is preferred that you utilize Blender or Maya, as you can get assistance from the TLs if need-be.

For animation, however, Maya is absolutely required, because all programs have a different style of rigging, and making Maya the standard helps streamline the process.

As I said before, I will address 2D soon, but I wanted to go ahead and mention this part.

Sparkle's concern grew deeper at this, her expression shifting to one of worry and deep thought.  She didn't want to hurt Raven, but she didn't want him to be mislead by her either... 

"Well, uh, thanks, I guess," she said, her voice wavering.  She really just wanted to go eat some shortcake right now and not think about it.  Maybe an answer would come to her once she had some food in her stomach.

'You are welcome.' She writes, trotting away, before realizing something, and sending one last message: 'Locate your name, and you will find what you are looking for.'

After that, a conversation resumes.
'What was the point of that?'
'Honestly? To have some fun. The second thing though, was to hopefully break that little bond.'
'Why would you do such a thing!?'
'It is like I said before: We need to get out of here. Who cares about those two?'
'B-'
'No buts. Shut up, and stop objecting.'
'..you monster.'
'Grow up.'

Sparkle bit her lip, glancing back at Raven.  "Gosh, I dunno..."  She sighed, looking a little sad now.  "I mean, he seems really nice, I just... I had no idea he thought of me like that."

Sparkle paused for a moment.  Raven seemed like a really nice stallion, and she did like him, but she hadn't really thought of him in a romantic way.  She didn't want to hurt his feelings either though...

"...Was I 'leading him on'?" she asked, looking concerned.  If she had been, she certainly hadn't meant to.  She felt kind of bad about it now, if she had accidentally said anything or acted in a way that implied that she might have liked him...

'Well, you sure did give him an idea of the possibility that you reciprocated it in some way. I simply assumed that was your plan, given the nature of this little 'game'. I would say to be honest with him about it, but that might prove to be problematic for you.' She writes in response. 'I am simply watching out  for you.' She writes below it.

Dropping into a more mellow stance, as though apologetic(using the emotions of Lunar's proper self), Lunar(?) goes to Sparkle, and writes, extending her hoof: 'Hey..I am sorry about earlier. I think the stress of the game is getting to me. Any possibility of friendship?'

"Thanks!  If you happen to stumble across any Strawberry Shortcake, let me know."  Sparkle called behind her as she wandered, really only half paying attention.  Her brain was on cake now, and once she was on cake, there was no getting her off until she found it.

Chuckling a bit, Raven says "Alright," and begins to search for the cake in question.

Sparkle nodded, giving Raven a small smile.  "Yeah, i'm fine!  Don't worry!"  She said, seemingly back to her normal self.  She still had no idea what was going on, but she didn't seem to really care either.  With her mind going back to food, Sparkle looked around her.  "  How about we get something to eat?  I dunno about you guys, but i'm starving!"  She said, now addressing everyone in the room as she wandered down the seemingly endless halls of food.  She immediately went and tried to find any Strawberry Shortcake available in the room.  With such large stock and variety, she was sure they would have some of her favorite delicacy.

"Honestly, I am not too hungry, given the circumstances. If you want anything in particular though, I could help find it," Raven offers.

Nightshade gave a quick nod, before noting Azure. While normally uncaring for ponies, she did feel it was best to diffuse this situation, lest it remain like this for the rest of the game. Raising her voice authoritively, she called out:
"All right, everypony calm down! Nopony's going to get ANYWHERE if things keep going like this."

"Chaos is consuming us slowly but surely.." Raven mutters.
