Title: Dawn of the Weeping Pegasi
Post by: Jcfraven on 2016 Nov 23, 15:37:47
*Here it is, @Peacekeeper @Gamepaw @Purple @waaaaaaah !
(Hopefully that notifies you guys, I still do not know how to do that properly)

In the year 1000 AR(After Luna's Reformation), the land of Equestria had started to dabble in the likes of alternatives to magic, in order to benefit the other races, and allow for greater work to be done, beyond the limits that magic had to offer.

A key piece of this was none other than Manehattan, particularly a company by the name of "Tecnolomagika Inc." who had been on the frontlines of the revolution since the beginning, figuring out new ways to do tasks usually done by unicorns, alongside discover new methods of securities and surveillance. Many conspiracies surround the company, some noting disappearances and "living stone," in the night as of late, but nothing has substantiated those claims. As such, it is business as usual in modern-day Manehattan.

That is, except for Raven and his companions, who were suddenly pulled into this Manehattan, during a requested travel to the future by Sparkle, with Raven attempting to fight against it.

The roleplay begins after that incident, when the TARDIS crashlands into a park in the daylight, luckily with its invisibility functional, with the crew having fell onto the floor, since Raven was unable to warn them in time. With smoke inside the TARDIS, they start to get up.

*I am aware that this could be better, and I apologize for not being the best with initiating roleplays. Hopefully, it will work out. For now, time to initiate the start of the roleplay itself.
----------
Opening his eyes after the crashland, and recovering from the dizziness that occurred as a result, Raven stands up off the floor, leans on the console, and looks around at his companions, who all suffered a similar fate, due to his inability to forewarn them to the eventual crash.

Through the smoke in the room, Raven inquires: "Are all of you alright?"

Coughing intensely, Sparkle stood up, brushing herself off.  "..Did we make it?" she asked, squinting from the smoke.  She seemed rather unfazed by the crash, appearing to be either unaware of what just happened, or she simply didn't care.

Game let out a quiet whine and began wiggling, during the crash the rotund canine had found himself stuck between the bars of the console.

Despite being stuck in metal bars, the wolf was glad they were there as he began to look down and saw the decent sized drop onto the floor before.

"For some reason, my dear, we actually ended up in Manehattan, if I understood correctly while we were crashlanding. Why exactly that is, I am not quite sure," He replies, starting to try to figure out exactly what time they ended up. After a minute or so, he determines that he will not be obtaining any useful information for a while. As such, he begins a system check, and turns back to Sparkle. "Apart from that, I have no clue what time we ended up in, nor why, so we will need to figure the former out the old-fashioned way, and the latter, hopefully, when the TARDIS is back to its proper functionality," He continues.

*The TARDIS does have a language module/system, that allows for communicating to alien species, so it would not be a stretch, to me, that we could communicate to you as well, Game.

"Well, I know Manehattan pretty well, so I'll probably be able to tell if it's the future or not once I see it,"  Sparkle replied, sounding a little too confident about it.  She had made this claim many a times before, and has failed to follow through 9 times out of 10.

Hearing Game's whine, Sparkle quickly rushed to the fluffy wolf, following the sound to this location.  Giving him a look of sympathy and worry, she quickly used her magic to free him, gently setting him on the ground.  'Are you okay?" she asked, still looking concerned for the wolf.

Game nodded slowly, plopping himself on the floor and resting. Thankful that he wasn't putting his trust in a thin metal railing anymore.

Flicking his tail lightly, the wolf was still a bit shaken from the crash. Looking around for some comforts.

"Very well, I suppose we will explore whenever everyone is ready. Also, I am still amazed by unicorns, was he not heavy to you?" He asks, intrigued.

Game attempted to shoot the pony a look, barely insulted by the 'heavy' reference.

However when the well fed wolf discovered he couldn't turn his head far enough to see and decided it wasn't worth the effort to get up and turn around, the wolf decided not to bother.

"What, this little sweetie?  Not at all!"  Sparkle giggled, petting Game with a smile.  She had lifted plenty of heavy things before, so Game wasn't too difficult for her to lift.

Looking around the TARDIS, she slowly made her way to the door.  "I'm ready to go whenever y'all are!" she said, looking a little too anxious.  Sparkle sometimes used the word "y'all" when referring to a group in spite of growing up in the north, simply because it was quicker and sounded better then "you all," to her.

"A bit of an understatement, calling him 'little'," He says, chuckling a bit.

"I thought you said you could fly this thing! " she wheezed, stumbling towards the entrance.

*Hey @Peace Keeper , just wanted to poke you, since you are the last of the crew unaccounted for in this scene.

Peace was laying on the ground from the crash still for a while before regaining his composure ang getting up softly like he just survived a plane crash.

Peace: Felt like we were inside a baseball moving at a long drive to a wall. I thought we would be done. I hope to not go through that EVER again. Scariest thing I've been on.

He carefully walks out to look around their new location.

Peace: So... did we really went through time?

Following his lead to the outside, he looks around as well, trying to estimate a time. "We definitely went through time, seemingly to that of the future. All I know for sure though is our location, Manehattan," He replies.

Trotting outside with the others, Sparkle surveyed her surroundings, taking in a deep breath of fresh city air.  "Ah, how i've missed this place," she said, a nostalgic look in her eyes.  Pausing suddenly, she seemed to become more alert.  "Wait a minute.  Something's different here...." she said, skimming the area with squinted eyes.

"AHA!" she declared suddenly, pointing at a random tree.  "That tree is new!  Yep, we're definitely in the future," she said, seeming to relax a bit.  It was amazing how quickly she managed to go from basically any emotion back to her regular self again.  One minute she could be angry, sad or anything else, but she would almost instantly go back to her default happy.

"I do not know currently, that is what we need to find out," Raven says, before Sparkle comes out.

Chuckling at that, Raven says: "An eye for detail, I see. We should probably figure out what time we are actually in, and I think a good option for that would be trying to find somewhere to eat, and ask there, assuming you lot are hungry," He suggests.

*Okay, serious note for this moment: This is likely due to tiredness, and/or inexperience, but I am not entirely sure how to run a roleplay properly, particularly one like this, so I am a bit lost on what exactly to do, and we are only on Page 1. Sleep may help, but I may need assistance with it.

Game nuzzled the pony lightly, after being complimented and began to waddle after them.

Hearing about the idea of food, the round wolf wagged and and began to move a tiny bit faster, moving from very slow to slow in terms of speed.

Sparkle nodded in agreement, lifting Game again so the poor wolf wouldn't be left behind in the city.  Manehattan was huge and crowded, and you had to move fast if you wanted to survive.  "I know this great little café that's only a couple blocks down from here!  We can go there if you guys wanna!" she said, looking off in the direction of her favorite café.

Game nuzzled the pony who chose to carry him, thankful that it saved his legs from the agony of walking a few steps.

Looking around, the wolf felt uncertain about the stares he was being given. It was as if they never say a little pony carry a big wolf before.

Nodding to Raven and returning Game's nuzzle, Sparkle cheerily led the way down the street towards her favorite place to get shortcake in all of Manehattan: Café Rose.

The walk was a short yet scenic one, as the group passed by several floral and jewlery shops, as well as a few bake shops, specialty stores and recognizable buildings.

Sparkle stopped in front of a small, friendly looking brick building with a rosy pink overhang and a forest green door.  Grinning, Sparkle turned back to the group.  "Tadaa!" she said, gesturing to the building proudly.  Café Rose had been like a second home to her for years, and she knew that she could always come here for help, or just for some great desserts.

Rubbing the brick, Raven admires the construction of the building. "An old and homey architecture, guess that some things do not change. I suppose let us head inside," He comments, entering the building, and holding the door for his companions.

*You want to control the cafe staff, Sparkle?

((sure thing ^^))

Nodding to Raven with a smile, Sparkle entered the café, the familiar smell of coffee roast and shortcake filling her nose.  As she walked up to the front counter with everyone, memories of her childhood days spent here resurfaced, bringing a grin to her face and a warm fuzzy feeling in her heart.

The mare at the counter greeted her new guests with a warm smile.  She had short, spiky red hair and was wearing a grey hoodie underneath her green apron.  "Welcome to Café Rose!  What can I get for you lovely folks today?" she asked in a pleasant tone, her emerald green eyes sparkling with charm.  Sparkle instantly recognized this mare as her childhood best friend, and quickly made her way to the back of the group.  Raven would probably know best what to say to figure out what they wanted to know, after all.

"Hello my fair mare, we were hoping to dine and chat some, as we just got into the area, and do not know much about it," Raven says to the mare at the counter, putting on his kindness facade.

Game peered over the shoulder of the mare he was riding upon and looked at the foods available, he was tempted to make his way over to it and beginning eating it all, however that would require exercise.

Something the wolf didn't like, though he wagged his tail anyway at the thought.

(Apparently dogs don't blink as often as people do and also blink one eye at a time. Unlike people, they apparently don't need to wet their eyes and only blink to rest or clear them. Will be useful later :P)

The mare let out a small chuckle.  "Well, you came to the right pony then!" she said, smirking.  "I know this city like the back of my hoof.  Any questions ya have, I can probably answer."

Sparkle continued to quietly observe the group and her friend as they conversed.  Upon their initial meeting, her friend had seemed... different, somehow although she couldn't place why.  But now that she had gotten a good chance to look at her, she noticed that she appeared to be older.  This confirmed any suspicions she may have had; they were definitely in the future.

Sketch, meanwhile, was looking around the cafe with interest. It was a homey, lived in sort of place, one she felt where she could become a recurring customer. Instead of focusing on the menu, she looked around, trying to see if the place had any paintings.

"Ah, well let's see here... If my memory's correct, it should be the 27th," The mare said, looking over at a conveniently placed calendar.  Thinking about what sort of gossips she had heard, the mare racked her brain for anything interesting she could tell her customers.  "Well, my best friend just got married last week, but i'm sure you're probably not interested in personal business," she chuckled, smiling a little.  Sparkle stiffened a bit at this news, her cheeks turning a bit red.  It couldn't be... could it?  Or, n-no, she must've been talking about Sonnet... right?

"Recently i've overheard some customers talking about weird disappearances, moving statues and whatnot.  Business has been quiet lately because of it, since the supposed source of these weird occurrences is just a couple blocks away from here."

Noticing the reaction of Sparkle at the initial comment, he decides to pursue the first topic initially, as they have plenty of time. "Regarding the first, that is wonderful. I am always one for a good marriage. Who is the lucky mare and stallion? Perhaps we know them," He questions.

Sparkle resisted the strong urge to glare at Raven for bringing up that topic.

"Well, if you listen to any music than you've probably heard of Sparkle Chord," the mare said, chuckling a little.  Sparkle completely froze at the mention of her name.

"It's unlikely you'd know the stallion she married though.  Sparkle said he's 'from another world,' whatever that means.  I always just assumed that she meant he was just that awesome.  Let's see, I think his name was... Keldeo?" the mare finished, thinking hard about the name.  She had always had trouble pronouncing it, since it did sound rather foreign.

Sparkle nearly fainted from all the pressure at the mention of her coltfriend.  She couldn't believe they got married in the future!  Her face was glowing strawberry red now, although she didn't seem to notice.

"Ah, yes, I have heard she is a lovely singer, though I never really heard of the coltfriend," He replies, looking over and noticing his companion's reaction, which leads him to move on from the topic at hoof.

"Anyway, let us move on to the other topic. You mentioned that ponies have been talking about disappearances and moving statues, and that the alleged origin area is nearby, care to elaborate?" He asks.

Game stay back in the seat and stared at the pony who had place him there, slightly intrigued by the increasing red color of the mare's face.

He made a note to look into it later.

"Well, I haven't actually seen it myself, but rumor has it that ponies who go over to the Tecnolomagika building have been going missing lately.  Like, they'll enter the building, but they won't come out.  A couple of my staff members said they saw some stone pegasi walking around at night too, but most of us just think it was an illusion, since none of us have seen it."  The mare explained, thinking back on the things she'd heard.  She personally didn't really buy into any of this, but it was affecting her business, so it still bothered her.

Weeping Pegasi.. He thinks to himself, causing him to frown temporarily, before returning to his normal expression.

"Interesting. Sounds like a solid prank, but something that should probably be looked into regardless. Any chance we could all get some water, my fair mare?" He inquires.

"Certainly!  I'll be back in a moment!" The mare said with a smile.  Nodding to the group, she quickly went off to get some waters for everyone.

Once she had left, Sparkle shot Raven a dark, piercing glare.  ...Or at least, a piercing one.  She wasn't so good at looking dark.  "Did you have to ask about... That?" She groaned, her face still bright red.  She was so overwhelmed with embarrassment that she could hardly think.  Sure, it was amazing that she and Keldeo... Got married, in the future, but her brain wasn't ready to handle that idea at this point.

Raven chuckles at the mare's reaction, and poor attempt at a staredown.

"Come now, I was quite curious, after your reaction to it. Besides, I am quite happy for you, a happy ending fitting for a mare like you. Not everypony receives such happy ends, you know," He says, his expression faltering slightly, before going back to the joking smile of prior.

Sparkle blushed even more at this, her expression softening a bit.  Raven was right; she was an extremely lucky mare.  Still, the thought that her future self was already married came as a shock to her.  She wondered what Keldeo would say about all this.  He'd probably get really flustered and stiff, and his face would probably turn that adorable shade of red...

Sparkle suddenly jumped, shaking out of a dreamy expression to one of alertness.  She couldn't think about this now, she had to stay focused!

Noticing her shift back to seriousness, Raven follows suit. "Assuming that what the waitress said is true, that would explain who caused the TARDIS to be forced here. The question is, why would they try again?" He ponders aloud.

*I just realized that we have kind of gone at this just with us two. It is going fine, I am just curious about the others.

*Point taken.

"The Weeping Pegasi..statues primarily in the form of Pegasi, which move when not gazed upon. They tried to take the TARDIS before, when I was with my old companion..they failed to reach their goal, but they succeeded in something else," He explains, closing his eyes in reflection.

Game was left without a menu, only the ponies receiving it and opted to sneak a look at Sparkle's. Most the food was just pony specific, salads and the like but he could see pie and cake, things he would enjoy.

Peace all this time is just listening in to everything, marriage, Weeping Pegasi, all while looking around and the menu, which he only lasted a few seconds before putting it down and looking around. For sure the Weeping Pegasi got his attention.

Peace: Wait a minute... these statues move? Okay so you had dealt with these things before, and they are here. Do these things follow or something? Are they like foalnappers?

"They invade and inhabit for one sole purpose: Time Energy. They go after their victims, in an attempt to send them into the past, feeding off the energy of the time they spend up until their point of being sent back, where their life ends," He explains. "Also, yes, they move, but only when they are not looked at," He continues.

((I was out all day, sry guys XP))

Once Raven had finished speaking, the mare returned with several waters.  "Here you are everyone!" she said as she set down the waters for her customers.  "Sorry for taking so long, there was some trouble in the back," she explained, momentarily glancing at the counter before returning her attention to the group.  "So!  Is there anything else I can get for you all?  We're having a special on strawberry shortcake today!  Two cakes for the price of one!"

Sparkle's eyes lit up at the mention of her favorite treat.  It took all her might to not jump up from her seat and squeal for an order of strawberry shortcakes.  In an attempt to distract herself, she tried to initiate a staring contest with Game.

Glancing up from Game for a moment, Sparkle gave Raven a grateful smile.

Nodding to the group, the mare gave them all a friendly smile.  "Alrighty then, two orders of shortcakes comin' right up!" she said as she walked back to the counter.  On her way to get the cakes, she gave Sparkle a little wink.  That's right, she saw you you silly little mare.  Did you really think your best friend wouldn't recognize you?

Seeing the wink sent a wave of shock through Sparkle, causing her to blink, and subsequently mutter 'dangit!' at her loss to the purple fuzzy wolf sitting next to her.

Game watched the ponies converse, waiting for something to either happen or for someone to give him some more food. Preferring the later, the overweight wolf found the former a bit more interesting.

The idea of super fast statues that kidnapped you, scared the wolf. While normally he could count on his weight to help protect him from certain things, he doubt that would help him escape from the angels.
